I could not find the approval for I-130 but memory does not fail, I don't remember any alien registration number until my visa was approved. I was always using the case number but it has been a while so I might not remember it at all. When I paid the immigration fee, I think I just looked at the stamp in my passport. I put the registration number, which is my SSN in the A number format. The card came with that number too so I have never thought there was something wrong with it. It seems to me that they made a mistake. The A number that needs to be in the card according to the letter is a number that I had never heard of until I got the notification.
I mailed the card with a tracking number. Notification says the new card will be delivered in 3 weeks after they get my old card but we will see.

Then it looks like they made a mistake because I remember myself thinking like "oh, so they use my ssn number as my A number too." I thought it was because I already had the SSN number so that's what they do to make things easier or something.
I entered the US in October 2019 so the visa in the passport is not valid anymore. Alright, we will apply for pre-approval for a loan for now so probably I will be OK without the card. I will send it back as soon as possible to USCIS. It is unfortunate I need to send it in a time when USPS is having real trouble. We will see.
Thank you so much!

I do not remember what I Iisted as my USCIS number. So, USCIS number is 123-456-789 but it is my SSN number. I mean numbers are the same, but it is in a different format.

Hello all,
I came to the US in 2014 with F-1 to pursue my Ph.D. I was working as an assistant at the school, so I had an SSN. I got married to an American citizen, we left the US for 2 years, started the immigrant visa process. We came back to the US and I entered the US with my IR-1 in October 2019. When we were processing the application, I did not ask for a new SSN card or number since I already had one.
In December 2019, I got my green card. My SSN number is same with my USCIS number on the front side of the card and my alien registration number on the behind of the card is same with my SSN number as well.
Today I got a letter from USCIS, saying that this number on the behind of the card is wrong and it should be a different number. They want me to send the card back to them and they will issue a new corrected one.
- Does this have anything to do with my SSN number? Should I let the social security know it?
- I have been employed since I entered the US in Oct 2019. Do I need to update my job about it?
- Has this happened to someone else? We are planning to apply for a mortgage loan nowadays and will I need my green card for any reason?
Thank you so much!

She should be prepared to pay around at least $360 in total for the examination, tests, and vaccines if she does not have a valid record showing that she had vaccines before.

The attorney went ahead and requested them online... It will be mailed to my parents house.. it will take 5-10 days to do.. idk if they'll arrive in time☹️
Why don't you just get online versions of the transcripts and print them out instead of waiting for IRS mailing them to you? Isn't it possible?
I am sorry for not being helpful so much. I am going to have my interview in Ankara in late Sept but still haven't heard from the consulate regarding my interview or required documents. We also have uploaded joint sponsor's only 2018 tax returns because transcripts were not available at the time we uploaded our stuff. I also have not uploaded photos, phone logs, or chat messages. I was thinking of bringing some pictures to the interview in case they ask.

Hi there. We had the same issue, 3 times. How is your case going ?? Any news?
The following day after I asked the question, we got our "documentarily qualified" notification. So we are waiting for the appointment date now.

Hello all,
I am waiting for NVC to get an appointment for my IR-1 interview at the embassy in Ankara. I have to be in the US in the mid-september in the worst case.
Does it make sense to email to NVC and the embassy in Ankara to mention that I've to be in the US because I am doing my Ph.D. there and I need to teach to get paid? I know this is not an emergency for them at all\ but just curious about other people's experience or opinions?
Thanks

Country specific information would be in the Turkey portal
Yes, but there is information about the consulate that is last updated in 2017. And when I look at people's timeline separately, it only shows the date of NOA2 and the interview. Since I don't know how long they spent to submit their documents, how many RFEs they got etc, it is kind of not helpful.
However, the information back from 2017 says that it takes 2-3 months so mid-september looks like a long shot for me if it is still true.
Thanks for your help.

Do your homework. Check the timelines for Ankara, here on VJ.
I looked at it already, but it does not show the timeline between getting a notification of "documentarily qualified" and "interview date". It only shows the time between getting NOA2 and the interview date. So I could not have a rough guess. Or am I missing something?

What have you submitted for proof for domicile?
Bank statements and state ID.

Hello all,
After asking two questions here today and yesterday regarding not hearing from NVC, we've finally gotten the notification a little while ago from NVC saying that we are documentarily qualified. Now we are supposed to wait without doing anything apart from preparing our package, aren't we?
My interview will be in Ankara, Turkey. Our service center is Texas. I know it depends on many other things, but could you provide me some rough guess about the interview date? Is there any chance to have the passport with the visa issued in hand by mid-September?
Thank you.

Hmmmm........Maybe contact NVC and your consulate to ask if you can get a quick interview due to your circumstances. That's the only possibility that I, personally, see.......good luck.....
Thank you.

Proof of domicile?
Yes, she was with me in my home country. Now she is back in the US, so they wanted a proof for it like a state ID etc. We uploaded them.

Hello,
Our IR-1 application is at NVC now. I am, the applicant, doing my Ph.D. in the US. My F-1 expired in June 2019. We are having unexpected delays with the IR-1 application at the NVC stage. My school will start at the end of August and it looks like IR-1 won't work out until then.
So, is it useless to apply for F-1 while there is a pending IR-1 application? Or do you know any other alternatives to enter the US legally?
Thanks

It’s a free call. What were the RFE’s for?
We need to resubmit our tax documents and the proof of domicile for my wife -who is the petitioner.

Hi,
We got RFEs twice at the NVC stage. Both at these two times, it took 3 weeks for them review our documents again. But this time it has been almost a month. I know theoretically it can take longer, but will it be useful to call NVC to see what's up with our case? Or should we just wait without doing anything?
Thank you

Hello all,
We are trying to figure out an odd problem at the NVC stage. I asked another questions regarding this subject but I've more specific one.
My wife- the petitioner- does not have W-2 since she made foreign income. It is less than 100.000 but we still report it in our jointly filed taxes. I, the applicant, made US money - a research fellowship and a service stipends. So I have W-2 and 1042-S but my wife does not have it. She has 2555, and other schedules related to it. We submit all these documents because our total income includes all of it. But we got the same notification twice from NVC: they ask my wife's W-2.
The followings are the possible titles to upload our documents but they look confusing.
federal income tax return and transcript
federal income tax schedule
form w-2 wage and tax statement
other
Should we upload my W-2, 1042-S and her 2555 and other related tax documents under the title of W-2 wage and tax statement on the ceac's system? Is this the problem? There won't be her W-2 but we could not think of a better way to do this after having our case postponed twice because of this problem. Or should we use the section other? And finally, for the cover letters to explain those, should they be combined as the first pages of the documents or should we upload them separately under the title of "other"?
Thank you

Unfortunately, we don't have tax transcript because IRS does not provide it for foreign addresses...

Allison, I am sorry for seeing your message that late.
Yes, I got my card around mid-March. So, it took like 2,5 months, I believe.
And, yes, I got the same message saying what your status says. I think it is normal. Probably they don't have anything else to put there that fits our situation. I actually emailed them - there was an email either in status or in the letter, I don't remember- and eventually a lady from USCIS called me. It took a while to get this call from them but my status said the same thing after this lady from USCIS called me so I am assuming that your card is on its way - or you probably, and hopefully, have already gotten it!
