Today I got mail from NVC .. they changed our case number and visa counslate in India ... originally it was in New Delhi .. now they changed it to Mumbai , India . The lady on the phone said they From now on all the cases gonna go to Mumbai embassy for India .. hence our case number was changed as well .

we have no clue about Mumbai .. it’s 38 hour travel by train and 3 days by car .. Delhi was only 6 hour away from where we lived .. I’m kinda mad now

I m trying to prepare for next steps at NVC ... do u guys know which affidavit of support form is required for spouse  

I- 864( by myself or joint sponser)

or I-864EZ( if I’m only petitioning one person and using my income only )

or it doesn’t really matter 

So I filed my ds-261 last night and it said NVC has received it and it’s under review . I called them today to see if they can review it over the phone ... first the guy said yes and he put me on brief hold and then he said that he can’t do it right now cuz my case was only generated couple of days ago .. I have to wait for the welcome letter in order to  start this process .. he wouldn’t believe me when I told him that I already did complete ds 261 cuz it wasn’t showing up in their system ... and he said that the system won’t let me do it till i get the actual email or letter ... but I already did it .. so confused now ..

Lol..I just tried opening it now and it’s letting me do it... so it is useful .. now I can start this process 

 I was so stressed about that ...

That’s what I’m confused about ... whats the point of calling and getting the case number and invoice number if I can’t actually use it before I get the welcome letter ... .. now it feels like we have another 5-6 months to go still

I can’t ... I tried ... it tells me my case number is not eligible for further processing at this time ... I called NVC today .. he told me to wait to get the actual welcome letter to get started 

How long does it take to get welcome letter or email from NVC after they have created a case number and invoice number .. 

they told me that I can’t take any actions till I get the welcome letter or email and it can take up to 4 weeks ...

this wait is killing me 

Just got off the phone with NVC .., got my case number and invoice number  finally ... it took exactly two weeks as they say from the date they received it ...

My brother had also filed I-130 and it was approved on December 20-2017 .. today uscis finally sent it to NVC after 35 days ... his case status changed on uscis website today .. 

I’m calling NVC literally every day now ... they received my case on jan22 -2018 ... still no case number ... the lady on the phone asked me to wait one more week and then a case number will be assigned ... the good part is that my call goes right through every day ... no waiting at all and everyone seems nice and helpful at NVC so far 

Keith and arileidi Did u get your case number from NVC in the mail too

Jan 5-2018 ( pripority date April 20 -2107).. on jan 12 -2018 my case status changed from approved to was sent to department of states ... 

I just called NVC ... they have received my case ... they told me it can take up to two weeks to get a case number .. so call back within 2 weeks ...

Both our cases were sent to Texas service center first .. so there’s no real process to it cuz his case status hasn’t changed since approval 

My case status was changed from case approved to case was sent to department of states .. my brother also petitioned for his wife and his has been approved since December 20-2017 and there’s no update on it now ... it’s been more than a month .NVC hasn’t received it yet cuz he did send a email to them about it 

My I-130 was approved jan 5 2018 (priority date April 20-2017)and sent to NVC on jan 12 2018 according to uscis website ... when should I start calling NVC regarding my case number ...
