Yes, that is my current status also. I had my biometrics done Dec 6th just like you and still waiting... 

Detroit, Still waiting and pending date is October.

I am from Milwaukee field office and also have been waiting for 5 months since fingerprints  

For me, I had my biometric on Nov 21 and on Jan 16 they notify me about the interview which will be on Feb 23.

Till whenever they are ready for our interviews. Mine has been 40 days post biometrics. Waiting is such a drag! 

Well, We are almost done with this nonsense! Interview scheduled for 02/05. Looking forward to being done with this process, soon!

it's likely an automatic update but no detail specified until the actual assignment is made afterward. you should expect to receive another FP schedule notification with details within new few days.

Like everything immigration related, potential timelines are very elastic.  Priority dates are pretty rigid from an adjudication point of view and the USCIS stays pretty tight lipped until you reach or exceed that date.  Everything else is pretty fluid and the best plan is to not expect anything to go per the advertised guidelines.  I engaged my local congressman as I approached my priority date but can't be sure if that sped anything up or not.

for the extension letter I believe it was same as my GC expiration date 2/15/2017 so my extension is 2018 .
