  1. I've looked on the USCIS website, but it's a bit confusing. Good search said to renew the greencard not before 6 months, guess the removing on the conditions is different. If the conditions are moved I automatically get the new 10 year greencard? As for the evidence, we were already married over 1 year, I just did not apply for greencard right away, so we don't really have anything extra to show them, but pictures.

  2. I have a 2 year limited (marriage) greencard, which I will need to renew/remove the conditions by first half next year. It says to apply about 5 months before it expires. Wondering if there are any changes due to covid. It is the first time that I will be filing the forms, in the past a lawyer was taking care of the paperwork. Not sure if I would need to do the medical exam again, but don't want to be forced to get a covid vaccine (as it says it might be available in November). As far as I understand I need to file form I 751, do I need any other form? It took a while to get everything together with the lawyer, but check list seems to be a lot shorter than for the initial greencard?

  3. Very frustrated, my lawyer filed for my greencard beginning of December now I

received a letter saying the medical record was signed more than 60 days before it was filed. My lawyer filed the docs 6 days late, they knew when the I 693 was signed, so it should be their job to advise me correctly. Does anyone know what my options are? If I call the dr could he just fill it out again and sign with a new date or would I have to get the medical done again? Can I ask the lawyer to pay for it as he messed up?

  4. does anyone know? My lawyer is killing me

that's what they said I've been to the DMV plenty of times to know this won't fly by, not even with whatever letter they want to provide HELP

The SC DMV regulations are inconsistent with federal law.

Your I-94 record is valid until2020 and you are allowed to obtain a new driver’s license with the new I-94 record.

We suggest that you visit the local DMV with your valid passport and new I-94 record. If the DMV still does not issue a new driver’s license, we can write a letter for you to take to the DMV.

  5. Moved to the US almost 5 years ago, via E2 visa, now filed for marriage based GC. I've asked my lawyer and he said to renew the DL with the I94, but I had to renew my DL twice, once after 2 years and then 1 year ago and when I renewed it last year I already had the I 94 that said admit until 2020, but they only renewed the DL 1 year. So don't know why the DMV would renew it now to 2020 unless they have made a mistake last time? Does anyone know?

  6. Really hate my lawyer, I don't think they know much what they are doing, but my company is paying for it, so I have no choice, unless I want to do it by myself, which I don't.

They are filing my green card, originally they only talked about I-130, I-765 and I-485 (now changed to I-483?).

But what's pissing me off the most is that they want to file an I-864 Affidavit of Support, which they have never mentioned before. I always told my husband he does not have to sign anything like that and I don't understand why this is necessary, I have a job and they are filing the I-765 so I can still work, is this a must, or can I request not to file it??

  7. We have a bit of an issue with this document. I know I should have researched this better beforehand, but I didn’t, so my family was in the US for our wedding in August, I’ve had them sign the affidavit, thinking that my husband’s co worker, who does notary stuff, would sign it for us, but now my husband switched jobs and he cannot reach that guy. Going to the bank on Saturday, as I’ve read that you can have it notarized, if a witness is swearing that the person signed it, but worried they won’t sign it with my husband being the witness.

My husband has kids, so we don’t have that much time to hang out with other people, so the options are limited, one of my friends agreed to do it, but then always had an excuse why she doesn’t have time.

Wondering if my family can have it notarized where I’m from, as I don’t really want to bother my husband’s family.

  8. thank you all, that was very helpful

one more question in the paper work I have to mention my the addresses that I've lived here and over seas, and it says: did all family members lived there yes or no, now I live with my husband and his kids, so yes, but before I lived in an apartment by myself, I'd still say yes?? Or what do they think is a family member?

  9. I am here in the US on an E2 visa that will end March 2019, married a US citizen in December 2017, now finally have all the documents together to apply for the marriage based green card. The lawyer said that is should take about 4 month to get the greencard, but online it says it could take 1.5 years, question, if I don't have my greencard by March 2019 will I still be able to work? Also how do I renew my driver's license?

  10. I'm from Austria, I moved to the US abt 3.5 years ago via an E2 visa. My visa is still good for 1.5 years, my lawyer said at the beginning of the process he would apply for the greencard together with the last year, but actually the I 94 updated the last time I left the country and I'm leaving again in a couple months so it should then be OK until the end of my visa.

I wanted my greencard via my job, so I did not really wanted to get married before, but my bf (American, divorced with 2 kids) and I are now planning on buying a house and moving in together, while living in a state that does not allow unmarried couples to live together with kids and we suspect the kids' mother to make drama so we might as well get married now, but not sure how it works. Can we just get married and I then apply for the greencard or do I need to change my visa before to a different one and could I still continue to work at my job?
