  1. Hello! AOS Question regarding MEDICAL EXAM!:

My husband just received his interview day for mid-May. The letter mentions bringing your medical exam (I-693) with if it wasn't previously submitted, which I do not believe we submitted it as only the vaccination records were required, and they were submitted. He had his K-1 visa medical in the U.K. in January 2018, and entered the US on a K-1 visa in March 2018. He handed the IO the sealed medical exam envelope upon entering the country.

Does anyone know if he will need a NEW medical exam to bring to the May AOS interview?

    Thanks for your help!!

Hey, just wanted to update about my husband's experience traveling with AP!

We arrived in Chicago (ORD), so it's possible your experience could be a bit different, but it went very smoothly for us.  We filled out one arrival card (with my passport details, etc.) and went through the non-U.S. passport holders line.  The CBP officer looked at both our passports and my husband's AP/EAD card, then marked the form, and sent us through to secondary; he said I could go with my husband if I wanted, so I did.  We sat for around 10 minutes, then an officer called us, gave back my husband's passport and card, and told us we were free to go.  No further questions or anything.  There were quite a few people waiting - some arriving on immigrant visas and whatnot - but we found the process fairly expedient.

Wow thank you so much for the update!! This gives me some peace of mind at least to hear a story first hand about this :) Thank you again and hope you had a nice trip!

My husband will be doing it very shortly - MSP won't be our POE back into the U.S., but I'd be happy to report back once we arrive home in January.  I've heard that it does require secondary inspection, but is generally no problem.

That would be wonderful!! That's what I've heard as well. What does he plan to travel with as far as documentation goes? Obviously passport/visa and EAD/AP card...not sure if you guys plan to bring anything else?? Also - it sounds like you will be with him (I'll be with my husband when we travel as well)...I wonder if that makes a difference or if you get to stay with him through secondary inspection?

    Thanks a ton! :)

  4. I am in the same boat with my fiance being in the military (he just got out a month ago)...He got his vaccination records from the military, as well as any and all medical records they could find for him, and his mum had a number of his childhood vaccinations recorded.

He was able to get his tetanus vaccine at the Knightsbridge location, HOWEVER I think he will be able to get this here once he moves. The way I understand it, since the k-1 is a non-immigrant visa, he does not officially need all jabs until he is moved here and files for the AOS

Take it from this step on their website - https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

    FYI

    - you can book the medical once you have your case number by telephone

    - if you don’t have the NVC letter, take a screenshot of the case number to your medical

    - Allow min 5 working days for your medical results to get to the Embassy

-NB - London’s US Embassy is relocating mid-January. Check the new address and date of move on the website.

    Thank you!!!

  6. I might be a little behind the times, but does anyone know if there is a recent (meaning like within the last year) forum for specific steps to take after you get a case number from NVC? If anyone knows of anything (or even if there is a UK specific one)...I'd really appreciate if you could send the link to me!

We are trying to get ahead on anything we can since my fiance is over visiting me right now...good luck to everyone...specially my fellow May filers! xx

  7. Approved October 30th. No number yet from NVC. Called NVC and the man told me that he had a similar scenario where someone had been waiting this long and finally got a USCIS officer to admit that their case had only been sent over a week prior. I then called USCIS and they were "unable to tell me if it had been sent to NVC yet". I find it odd how some officers have access to this information and some dont....or are they not willing to disclose it? OR do they really have no idea what they are looking for!?

Pretty much everyone is having this problem...Since you've been waiting more than 6 weeks here's what you should do:

You should send an email to NVCResearch@state.gov with a scanned copy of your NOA2 attached as well as petitioner and beneficiary's full names and dates of birth.

Good to know we're not the only ones at least...thats exactly what I did last Friday. Thanks for the info anyways!

    Wow!

and you’ve confirmed with NVC they do not have your case?

Where in the world is it in print that you must wait 90 days to inquire with USCIS🤨

I've called NVC and they say they do not have our case yet. I was instructed to email someone at NVCResearch to see if they can track it down.

Not sure where the 90 day window came from, but that is what the USCIS lady said when she called me.

Any idea on how long it is taking May filers to get a case # from NVC?

Fellow UK filers (sorry to fellow May club - this is becoming quite the UK message hour ;))

I came across this awesome link a few weeks ago that was created by some UK VJ members.  It details the steps, chunks it out into phases and lists information for the process for the London embassy.  Plus the language is pretty simple, so things make a little more sense if you are overwhelmed by the many abbreviations and form numbers (or this could just be my brain lol!).

It was written a couple of years ago so some links to docs are broken, but majority still work and link to current stuff. Having read it a few times to get ready and all prepared for the next stages, it's definitely useful.

Just use as a guide only, check any form links to make sure they are in date - like I said it was written a couple of years ago so should be used as a broad step by step only :))))

This is amazing. Thanks so much for this help!!!
