OMG, so I called USCIS, the lady didn’t want to transfer me to a tier 2 saying it could take 60 days before getting the combo card and because my approval notice was so soon to give them some time (60days). She couldn’t see my card being produced or sent in her system...I told her, you are also not seeing that my case has been approved, so I would definitely appreciate to talk to a tier 2 officer...she was speechless.

What I did to speak with a tier 2 is said to the person that I need to speak with a tier 2 so I can track my combo card, ask for ur tracking number and she will conect you with a tier 2! With me worked! Good luck

That's what I'm thinking. Problem is I've been out of town for 3 weeks, one more week left. The form is dated 11-28 and it's page 1 of 1. If it is the interview we could possibly miss it because we're not at home! I guess I could try calling, but they never update the stupid system apparently. Since my case status online hasn't changed at all.

Exactly they dont update the online status because I have my advance parole but online dont say nothing new! You should definitely call them to see!! :)

What do RFE's look like? We received one letter from USCIS that I can't check since I'm out of town. I can see the statue of liberty's arm, so it looks like an approval letter of some kind or what an acceptance letter would like. Do RFE's look like that too???

Can be your RFE because I recieve it that as one letter, then I recieved 2 notice on the 12th letting me know im approved and today one as a package with my combo card. If u didnt apply for advance parole it can be your notice tho :)

Got my approval today as well!!

    I-765 notice date: 09/18

    Approval date: 12/11

Thank you to Andreita.. as soon as I got the approval, I called USCIS and asked to speak to a tier 2 officer and got my tracking number! It says it’s pre-shipment and on its way to a USPS facility. So hopefully next week!

I requested to expedite with a job offer both through a congressional inquiry and directly through USCIS, although I’m pretty sure none of it mattered... my congressman’s caseworker told me it usually two weeks for her to hear a reply from USCIS, which is today; I suspect if she heard something before the 11th, she would’ve let me know. I thanked her anyway. I also mailed my job offer last Monday, so that might’ve been it. No idea!

Yaaaay!! Im happy for you and Im glad I could help you!! Happy xmast!! Thats a good gift! :)

Congratulations!! That is great news. Such a great christmas present :)

Has your online status changed at all? And have you signed up for USPS informed delivery and can see the package there as well?

No, my online status didn’t change, a trick if u want some information from them it’s that you call them and ask them for the tracking number of your advance parole or work permit, ( I asked for advance parole) They will conect you with a second tier officer and he will let you know if its acept it or no, or if its on the way, thats what I did and it work! I have an account with delivery usps too but they gave me the tracking number and said it will arrive on monday :) So yeah is a good present. Try like I did and see if it work, its worth the try trust me! Good luck yo you

Similar situation here. I put in an expedite on November 21st and got the same updates and a couple weeks later was informed through USCIS Tier 2 IO that my expedite has been approved, and my congresswoman has even told me that my EAD has been approved and is in production, that was over a week ago, but have yet to receive anything in the mail like an approval notice let online an online status update. Every time I call USCIS they tell me the case is still pending, which is conflicting info to what my congresswoman's office told me. I think USCIS costumer service can just see the same online status that I can see when I check the online status myself, also their system is not updating properly so it's really pointless and a waiting game. How long can an expedite process take??

but to answer our question @andreita.89pp the order in those updates is latest info on top, so the request completed was the latest update.

Exactly their system is a joke! Im filling in seattle and this month didn’t change still in december 1st! I just don’t understand how they work! Because we cant be in our houses not working for several months, if they have more applications, hire more people to work and make it fast! Thank you so much for your answer and I hope you will get it soon!!!

I think they did it because maybe they receiving huge volume of expedite and service requests. Its so funny how they put it at exactly 3 months.

Its annoying how the system work... if they are a lot of people open more places for more people to work and easy peace!! its so frustrating this.. because We need to work for real, we can not being here doing nothing just with a salary....

I am not going to lie, super anxious here because I haven't seen any updates for my case status and obsessively checking my mailbox isn't helping too.

I am not sure at what point I should contact our local congresswoman or if that will even help...

    My timeline:

Forms received by USCIS on September 19th

Checks cashed and biometric appointment set for October 18th

Got an RFIE update on the website on October 17th

Sent in RFIE documents on October 24th

Documents received status  for RFIE -was updated on the website October 26th

Submitted a request to expedite my EAD November 9th

Received email from USCIS requesting more proof for the expedite request November 13th

Case history shows that expedite request was assigned to an officer November 13th

Faxed documents in response to the email November 15th

No updates as of today, spoke to an officer on the USCIS CS number and was asked to keep an eye on my email and mail and call back on the 13th of December if I dont receive any update on my expedite request.

If you dont esnt to go every day to your mail just make an account with Usps ( informer delivery) and they will send you an email everyday you have mail :)

Once you file for AOS, you have authorized stay while your case is pending, and are not accruing unlawful presence.

Once you are granted AP (~4-5 months after filing, currently), you can take short trips abroad and return. Assuming there aren't any issues, you probably will have AP by February, but there's also a nontrivial chance you won't - don't make any definitive plans until you have it in hand.

If you leave without AP, your AOS will be invalid and you likely won't be able to return to the US without a CR-1/IR-1 visa.

Thank you so much for your answer! They are doing already september in the national service center I am, so Im hoping for december january!! But yeah i wont go anywhere before i have the advance parole for sure, it was confused because i didnt know if i was overstay since my J1 expired. Your answer was so helpul thank you so much.

  10. Hi, I came here with a J1 visa, my visa j1 expired in september 14th plus one month I have extra that they give you with the aupair program. I receive my noa1 september 19  for (i-485,i-131 and work permit). My question is Am I oversaying while im waiting for my AOS interview?

If I am overstaying can i use my advance parole?

or if Im not overstaying could I? Thank you! I would need some help because I need to go in february to Spain

That is awesome! Keeping my fingers crossed for my papers that they received Sept 19th

Im in the same situation than you They received the 19th my papers aswell!! I called them today and he told me too that before we got the worl permit they have to send me a ñetter letting me know my i-485 is approved even if in my uscis case online said that im ready for an interview, that is pretty confused to me but anyways finger crossed for an early work permit and advance parole

For EAD it looks like August filers are starting to receive some great news and the dates seem to be all over the place, some people have been approved who submitted right at the beginning of August and others have been approved who applied at the end of August. It really seems to be all over the place (which I know is not the greatest answer) while the processing times page on this website is fantastic there is a large margin of error that comes with it. The best news though is to see that people in August, in general, are starting to receive their EAD's which means us September filers are up next! I think trying to pinpoint even a date range of when EAD could possibly be approved is very difficult when dealing with so many unknowns. For me, for example, I filed early September (Sept 8th) and I am hoping and assuming to hear something within the last week of November or possibly the first week of December. But again this is more hoping based on what I've seen on the site haha. :P

I called today to Uscis and they said for september fillers we are going to recieve within weeks ar least the ones who are in National benefits center :) we almost there!!!
