A week after N-400 combo interview, I got a letter stating my i-751 was approved.  Oath ceremony info came yesterday.

Result passed and waiting for Oath info.

I just have my 751/400 combo interview last week.  I didn't get a notice for the 751 so I took the documents only mentioned in the N-400 letter. My spouse came along too and just waited the whole time.  I am a Aug 30 2016 filer. 

Most of the interview was about the information in the 751 packet, some general questions about the marriage/life and I had to update a few documents since my address changed.  My address change was processed but the officer requested I updated the original filing papers to reflect the new address for reasons I did not care to ask about.

The N-400 bit was a few minutes at most.

At the end, the officer congratulated me and handed me a summary of the appointment stating I passed and was recommended for citizenship.  Officer said I will get stuff by mail.

For those who put in enquiries on the website for case status update... I put in a few requests and it was a waste of time.  Never heard back with any useful info.  I scheduled an infopass just for additional information and was able to get current status of my case not available online or provided by a level 2 officer.  If you need an update, I would highly recommend infopass.

i got a notice about my N-400.  My interview is on July 12.   USCIS said my i751 was transferred to a new jurisdiction 2 weeks after the interview was scheduled (10 days ago).    I will know how the journey ends in 3 weeks.

I tried to update the table but the formatting was way off.

I got a notice on May 31 that my N-400 interview date is July 12.  If someone updates on the next go around, I would appreciate it.  I am an N400/i751 combo case.

Edit: I did not receive a letter saying I was in line for interview.

dnp2014:  My homes are not in NY.  There are in other states and each one in a different one.  NY is not an easy market for H1-B, foreign nationals or conditional residents.  Very strict on money laundering too compared to other states so the Paul Manafort type purchases are avoided.

I am a combo 751 W/ n400 pending. 

751 NOA is Aug 29 2016 and N400 NOA is June 23 2017. 

Infopass let me know I am inline for interview on N-400, tier2 phone officer told me everything is on hold till 751.

I haven't received a notice yet for an interview yet.

Zombie you are ahead of me in line by a couple of weeks.  I know some combo cases that cleared both 751 and N400 concurrently but their N400 application was done online and those appear to be moving faster than my paper based one. 

I am hoping to get a notice for an appointment on the N400 by the end of the year.

Don't be offended or dismayed.  I have two homes and one was purchased while I was on H1-B. Second one was closed on 2 weeks before my extension expired.  The lender took the H1-B the first time and the second one used my extension letter as proof of residency.  Just find another lender. 

Sometimes a denial can be a combination of your immigration status, down payment, credit score and LOCATION.  If you are from NY-NY then you actually have a higher degree of scrutiny when it comes to mortgages and purchasing compared to the rest of the country.    Title companies in NYNY are required to dig quite a bit deeper by law compared to the rest of the country before a home purchase goes through, so lenders are way more cautious. 

It is a good idea to have at least one lender provide you with a per-approval before you even start looking.

You don't need your old passport.  You will need your current one which hopefully doesn't expire for at least a year.  If it expires sooner than a year your stamp will only be valid until you passport expires.

I have updated my passport twice since my original US entry.  My current one has no US visa stamps.  The officer will find an empty page, stamp it, write in the dates/i551 info , put a raised seal and hand it back to you. 

I got my i551 passport stamp 2 months after my 1 year extension expired.  It is probably the easiest immigration thing you will ever do. 

I have harder times checking out at a grocery store with alcohol. Take your extension letter, expired 2 yr green card, passport, and ID.

A lot of you are getting anxious about stuff in the mail and that's normal.  Let me show you something that I use which is quite useful to preview mail coming to me.

With informed delivery I get a photo of most of my legit mail the day or following day after it has been posted with the condition that it meets this criteria,

 " * Images are only provided for letter-sized mail pieces that are processed through USPS' automated equipment."

This way I know many days in advance and may help some of your anxiety.  Beware, the USPS tracking + informed delivery feature is quite annoying if you have a lot of letters and packages coming your way. It takes a day or few to activate once you sign up.

I have been inline for interview since 7/29/2017 and did not receive any official mail saying so.  I also have a pending i-751 case if you want to add that into the tracker.

I called in about my pending i-751 case and the officer told me I have been in-line for N-400 but wasn't notified by mail which is fine.  The only case status is updated if and only if USCIS mails something to me.  I expect to hear from USCIS sometime this year about the N-400.

No. You should relax and wait.  The privilege to live here is worth it and the experience is not supposed to be like shopping for an engagement ring.   Everyone's case will be addressed.  There are some who have legitimate reasons for wanting the process to move faster such as age or medical, and their numbers are insignificantly small compared to the rest who are just anxious.  

I have been living here for 18 years and am close to the end of the road.   This recent delay is inconvenient but that is all it is, inconvenient.  It is not feasible to have real-time access to the minutia of the immigration process for every individual case like an amazon order with ups shipping.  There are many here who believe they must have real-time access to all the inside information but they need to adjust their expectations.

Cases are being resolved slower than normal but they are being resolved.  Your patience will be rewarded.

True, always take it with a grain of salt.    The officer told me my case files were requested by NBC to process N-400 and then the case files were transferred to the NOR office awaiting N-400 interview.  i751 being on hold doesn't really mean much given that July is still being processed at CSC and August end which is where I am is probably months away.     The infopass officer also told me that they were not able to answer any acute case questions because the officer was not familiar with the procedures for adjudicating these types of pending cases.  I would have to call an speak with an officer who is more familiar and I suppose that is an L2 officer.    The officer did their best to interpret whatever the computer screen showed.  My three pending cases are i751 which adjusts status, CRI-89 which produces the physical card and N-400. 

I asked the officer about infopass generally and the officer told me that infopass is mainly meant for emergency needs such as travel for family emergency type situation where the person does not have a visa for re-entry or a similar issue like that.  It isn't meant to answer any detailed case questions like we have.  Hence her responses about my case were so-so and she told me so.    Excellent officer and kind person so I am satisfied with infopass and its intended purpose.  

I think Q1-2018 is where things may move for me, so until then, I shall stay put.  

I am sharing my experience from my infopass appointment in Dallas, 3 days ago.

1. My conditional GC expired more than a month ago but I didn't need a stamp as I was not traveling.  I-751 is pending with a NOA date of Aug 29, 2016.  Since then I booked some international travel as well as relocated so I needed some proof of residency to show to get an updated license and be able to travel.

2. My i-751 case is at CSC.  The infopass officer was excellent and told me that my I-751 is on hold because my N-400 was submitted and is moving faster.  My i751 case was assigned to an officer at CSC but my i751 application was put on hold as NBC requested my files for N-400 interview.   Please don't read too much into the 'assigned to an officer' because all that could mean is that an officer had a ton of files to process, one of which was mine.

3.  I did my fingerprints for N-400 on 7/24/2017 and since 7/29 my case is in the Miami (NOR office code..) office waiting for scheduling my N-400 interview.  My closest N-400 interview office is San Antonio.   From looking at other N-400 cases it looks like the San Antonio office has around 6 months lag from NOA date so I should hear about N-400 sometime this year.  I haven't received any notices about being in-line for interview but that is what the infopass officer told me.

4. The infopass officer was not able to tell me if the N-400 and i-751 will be processed at the same time at my local USCIS office.  [I see dual application path this as saving myself a few months on N-400 processing and am not stressed out about it.]

4.  I got an i-551 stamp for 12 months and my conditional GC card was not taken away.  The officer stamped my passport and returned my expired GC card.  [Experience is different from others who got the stamp at other times or other offices]

In hindsight should I have waited to apply for N-400... NO.  The end goal is to complete N-400. 

Hope this information is helpful to others who have questions about N-400 + i751 dual apps pending.
