if you applied with EAD for a SS# i would wait the 2 weeks or so for it to be mailed to you. You can, on the other hand, go and ask with your EAD in hand, if the number has been issued and you will be good to go. The card is not asked in most places, unless you go to a bank or such.

Ok thanks for your help. We applied for SSN with our EAD application.

if you read my timeline, you can follow the next updates. It can go as fast as next Friday for you since it was updated on the weekend. No guarantees, but i have seen it happen in 4 days from "in production" to "EAD in hands". It will also depend, where you live and the USPS picks it up. Ours came from Corbyn, KY according to where it was picked up.

Bet! Thank you. We filed for SSN with EAD. Did yall get a SSN or do we still need to go to SSA to apply for one?

    WHAT A GREAT DAY!

I just wanted everyone to know my fiance had his interview today at the U.S. Embassy in Accra, Ghana, and by the grace of God he was approved! Soon he will come to America for us to be married!

I must thank the U.S. Embassy in Ghana for their kindness to him and their approval, and also all the great people on Visajourney who helped me navigate this process smoothly. If not for the generosity of those on here and those who make videos like the ones on YouTube I'm not sure we would have been able to be successful.

I wish all of you awaiting your loved one's approval the best of luck and encourage you to stay vigilant and positive that your day will arrive too. I first mailed off my I-294 application on 06-15-2017, so from mailing to approval it's been about 11 months.

I am here to help in any way I can as always.

    Wallace

Amen amen! I just got on to check your status! Im so happy for you!!

  4. Thank you Wallace. Please, my honey and I did mock interviews daily until his interview. I compiled questions from the consular reviews I have been seeing. He was more than confident going into the interview. The wait was very long he got there at 7:30 and waited until 2:30 for the interview, so please tell your lover to eat before going lol. He was interviewed by an African American man that he had done business with in the past. He was asked my name, what kind of work he did in the US and if we were currently married since in our WhatsApp text we refer to each other and husband and wife : )

  5. I have a bit of a confession...I never received packet 3. My love went to pick up what we thought would be packet 3 from the embassy on March 28, but they refused him saying his case was not yet ready. At that time, we had already scheduled our appointment and with no future appointments to reschedule to, we proceeded even though we knew Wallace and Juva had been rejected before. This was truly a miracle for us to have been approved. I would not go only on what you hear from the call center (703) 520-2573, they are not in the US Embassy in Ghana they are just a call center. They have given me wrong information multiple times. Nonetheless, I would NOT recommending scheduling your appointment before the Embassy instructs you to do so. Also, I did not include all the bank letter, paystubs or the other information requested from USCIS in the affidavit of support. I included my tax transcripts from the last three years and that was it. Good luck to you all and God bless you.

    KingDev,

I cannot say I think it's a good thing to harass the consular, but I hope all will go well for your fiance's interview. It's interesting because I just received an email today saying they are ready for my fiance to schedule his interview and attached a document about what to bring and with other instructions. I am surprised your fiance must physically go to the embassy for the Package 3 since I (the petitioner) received an email, which is what I was expecting to happen vs. my fiance having to travel to the embassy for the package. I have an issue, however, because when I tried to go back into the traveldocs website to schedule a new interview it said it did not recognize the transaction number from the GT Bank receipt, so I wrote to them asking if we will have to pay a new fee even though he was not allowed to have the interview the first time. I'm hoping they allow us to use the same fee for the new interview. I am currently waiting for a reply. So the embassy picked the date for your fiance's interview or did you pick the date?

Please let us all know how your interview goes, and thank you for keeping us updated on your progress.

    Wallace

Oo wallace I told the consular we havent received anything so they said it is best for him to pick it up. At the consular i just called excessively and sent numerous emails 😔 We're  in this together. God bless us all!

Right you are, best for us not to get so hasty during this stage. Agreed, hopefully things are improving - from reading some 2017 posts, the whole call-in vs email seemed to be a real mess. We are also hoping things get better with each day.  Thank you for sharing your experiences, know that it is very valuable! Here’s to a positive and productive week ahead.

My love has completed his medical police and DS160. I have harassed the Consular so many times they transfered me to a senior department. Today they contacted me that our packet 3 is now ready to be picked up in accra. Interview scheduled for April 30

It means Interview has been scheduled already.

You need to check quick as you dont want to miss the date

Unfortunately im at the slowest most unorganized embassy in the world,Ghana. They are saying i have to wait to receive further instructions and that once received i should schedule my own interview. I read about a lady from VJ that scheduled her interview without receiving packet 3 and her love was turned away.

  9. Hey all! Noa2 Jan 26...Embassy in Ghana received our case on Feb 9...inquired via email and our packet 3 has not been sent yet. I have case number and my love has filled and submitted the DS160. We have to pay our fees at rhe bank and he uses the receipt number to schedule the interview. Where i have no idea tho : ( wondering should we wait for packet 3 to proceed w payment medical police etc or should we assume we know what were doing and move forward. This process is like a damn mystery any advice is well appreciated.

Start calling NVC after about 10 days to ask if your case has been received and if a case number has been generated.

Once you have the case number, you can track where the application is (at NVC, in transit, etc).

For instructions by the embassy in Accra, including info on medical click on Accra through the following link: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/list-of-posts.html

    Thank you very much!
