Hi.  Oh that's long you know my cousin brother arrived in USA on 24th Jan 2019 through F4 visa.  He told me he got his green card within 4 weeks itself. I wonder if USCIS is actually delaying the process or going slow particularly for those who came on spouse visa. Don't know.

I travelled to USA on 17 Feb. I'm also waiting to receive my Green Card

The online update shows status as In Process. A cousin of mine who came in Jan this year got his within GC within 4 weeks itself.. So can't do much just have to keep waiting I guess

Oh yes definitely I'd like to help you in any way I can.. So the immigration process at DFW airport was fine. The officer clicked my picture and took the sealed envelope and my passport and asked me to wait in a separate room for further processing.. I had to wait like 15-20 minutes after which I was handed my passport back. ( I read somewhere if you don't get your SS Card on time then you probably need to go their office and apply for it. Not sure if that's true) 

but in my case I didn't really need to do anything for the SS card.. It arrived on 28th or 1St of March. I do remember seeing the card was issued on 19th of Feb and Mailed on 21st. I was pleasantly surprised to see how quick the SS card was issued and hoped my GC will be here soon but no I'm still waiting...

BTW how did you check status of your GC?  What info is needed for that?

Oh I see... I heard few months ago that it doesn't take very long... You'll get it within a month itself.. But it's already a month so I started wondering... Can I call USCIS and inquire about it? I have alien registration number and case number.. Can they track it with it?

I was granted IR1 visa and moved to USA exactly a month ago. I've already got my SS card but I'm still waiting to receive my Green Card in my mail. Can anyone tell me how many days does it currently take to receive your 10 yr green card?

Hi.  As we completed 2 Years of marriage my visa category was upgraded to IR1. Today I collected my passport with my visa stamped on it :). It mentions visa category as IR1 but there's one sentence which goes like... 

UPON ENDORSEMENT SERVES AS TEMPORARY I-551 EVIDENCING PERMANENT RESIDENCING FOR 1 YEAR"

This is confusing to me 😕 can anyone explain what it means?  As far as I know my GC should be for 10 years right? There's no conditions placed anymore then why it says residency is valid for 1 year? 

Hi Everybody  we received a checklist for updated IRS transcript but my hubby was advised  to resend document to me so that I can take it to interview and reassured our Case was complete on 5th October.

I have 2 questions in my mind. Can someone answer these for me. Any help will be highly appreciated!! 

1) Any idea how long is nvc currently taking to schedule interview at Dhaka embassy ? 

2) Can I have the list of ALL documents that I'll  need to carry during my interview in future.

Hi.  Yes.. First checklist requested us to resend our marriage certificate and PCC again with corrections. . Which we did... And this time.. They're asking my husband to send corrected form of affadavit of support or missing docs to NVC...its surprising that all of a sudden they want to us send this which wasn't even in the first checklist 😕

Below snapshot is their message to him... They've asked him to send missing docs to them untill then case will be on Hold...

Hi everybody..My interview will be scheduled in Dhaka embassy in few months from now... More than a month ago we received a nvc checklist regarding my marriage certificate and police certificate. We made necessary changes and resubmitted documents. Today we got another checklist from NVC. This time it's regarding affidavit of support. I've attached snapshot of it below.... It's kind of confusing because the letter says though they'll schedule my interview but consular officer will need the missing docs..in the next page they've instructed my husband to send the missing items and untill that happens our Case will be on hold..can someone explain to me what exactly nvc means here? 

Oh I also noticed my case was updated from CR1 to IR1 as we've completed 2 years of marriage this July.. So does this mean on entry.. I'll be given 5years green card?

For nikhanama you need to contact local marriage register who performed wedding. Also for authorized translator you can try court area or opposite of course bar in sylhet. This shouldn't take more than few days. Also you can ask any questions at Nvc filers July which might gonna change to Nvc filers August after today.

Yes inshallah I'll have to get translation part sorted out. Is there any particular template/ format one has to follow for translation apart from the fact that it's done through authorised translator and includes necessary statement about accuracy of the translation.

You don't need foreign affairs seal for marriage or nikkah nama. Bangladeshi marriage certificate is English anyway. You might have issue with translation which should be done by authorized translator. For pcc seal should be at the back of the page as you said you send both side to Nvc. So supposed to be ok. If you think your documents are ok you can call Nvc and ask for supervisor or explain to them that you can't find any problems. This not gonna damage anything. Else make a new nikhan nama transalte copy and send it.

 I was also thinking same that maybe translation part wasn't accurate enough as that one statement is missing.  

Any idea roughly how many days will it take for me get a new nikah nama and authorised translation?  Do you know names of any authorised translator who can do the job in sylhet ?

Hi thanks a lot for your reply! Oh in that case I should be fine with PCC from Dubai inshallah. I got my PCC from Dubai in Dec 2017..right now I'm trying to get PCC for Bangladesh asap. Once that's done we'll send our package to NVC for review

Hi.  Thanks for your advice.  Nope I wasn't born in Bangladesh. I was born and brought in Dubai. I only came to Bangladesh for vacations once In every 2 years...I just recently permanently moved back to my home country in Jan 2018 as my dad retired from his job. I've already applied online for PCC for Bangladesh...i don't want to take any risk of getting checklist.
