Speaking of Road Trips, me and my fiancee were reminiscing about our road trip in August/September 2006. We travelled from Virginia (through Ohio ) all the way to California and then back - totalling 8500 miles or so. Best experience of our lives.

I got touched today.... I thought it was a holiday?

I replied to your post in the other topic, but I guess it got moved before you could read it. It's not uncommon for cases to get touched on holidays, week-ends, very late at night or early in the morning. I read that it has to do with computers doing the work, congrats on the touch, I hope you get your noa2 soon!

wow we all sent so close together. mine arrived the 16th at vermont. waiting and waiting. ugh this long weekend!!!!!!!!! how do we find out when we're approved? through email?

There are 2 notices you will get through the post, the first being an NOA1, which is a recepit saying "yeah we got it" and that has a case number (which you can use to track online). Once you can track online you can sign up to email updates which will tell you whenever the application is "touched" and finally when an NOA2 is given which is the "yeah your accepted"

You can also get the case number from the back of the check if you have access to that

also it could be sent back because of wrong amount on cheque or cheque missing

your NOA1 is just to say your petition has been received and look at.

an RFE would arrive after the NOA1...

Could an RFE be sent for missing a signature here or there?

It seems that in some cases, the petition is sent back before the NOA1 is issued if something is missing from the paperwork, such as signatures, or missing sheets from the G325a

Get him to call the bank and see if the check has been cashed? If so, just wait and see what happens

VJ saved us from making several mistakes on our application and convinced us that we could do this oursleves that we didn't need to get a lawyer, thus saving us thousands of dollars

Should say we also recieved the NOA1 in the mail today. Date writen was 13th Feb, the day after it arrived. Check was only cashed on Friday...

So, theoretically speaking, if you forgot to sign something, they would send the petition back with an explanation before they even think about giving an NOA1?

Make sure you sign the check (or cheque if your british )!

Why don't you try and get it out before April? IF you get it out soon, your NOA2 should be close come April

I send out my K-1 package on the 3th of Feb, and got my check cashed on the 9th. How come i havent got my NOA1 in the mail?

Also how do you guys check the progress? Did they give you a registration number?

Its on the back of the check. Call your bank and see if they will send you a copy, or if you check online, depending on the service, you can see a scan of the cashed check

Our check got cashed yesterday (and we were able to get the case number from the check), but it says our NOA1 was sent on the 13th. No sign of it yet!
