@BCILUWAMH if you check the case status on CEAC https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

Do you put your NVC number on INMMIGRANT or NONINMMIGRANT visa? Which one works for you? Right know I'm losing my s _ _ _ because if I check it I cant put it out on NONIMMIGRANT visa and I did understand that  K1 was a NONIMMIGRANT. Soooo.... I only check it on IMMIGRANT and it says:

"Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) that list the six steps you must take before NVC can schedule your visa interview appointment. This includes submitting to NVC various fees, forms and documents. Once NVC has received all the required items, they will let you know if anything is missing or incomplete. You can also find these instructions online at http://nvc.state.gov (English) and http://nvc.state.gov/espanol (Spanish). You will find contact information for NVC at http://nvc.state.gov/ask."

It does seem like a AOS/NVC stage because of the visa interview and NVC has received all the required items and I'm freaking out.

People that have already received the NVC number, does it happen to you?

This process has been so tiring that right now I'm overthinking EVERYTHING and I'm always aware of possible things going wrong.

From what I have researched, the K1 Visa is considered "nonimmigrant" because it is only for 90 days. Remember you have 90 days to get married and file I-485 AOS. It is similar to the nonimmigrant visa's used to visit another country that tourists would apply for. When you apply for AOS (at that point you are married and the beneficiary is remaining in your country), you are changing your nonimmigrant status to immigrant status. But on the ceac system, I don't think it matters what you pick.

My I-797 says sent to NVC also and says 2 to 4 weeks. But NVC says no that’s wrong it’s up to 6 weeks that UCIS needs to update the form! And it may have been sent as stated but sitting in the mail room at NVC. Pallets come in daily she explained! So probably there just haven’t gotten to mine or ours yet.

I wonder if it's actually six weeks because of a policy change or is it temporary because of the unprecedented amount of petitions this year?

@K-1Applicant2017 is at day 41. @Kirin2002@vml@McNair Are at day 40. Let’s see how their enquiries go over the next few days..

42 days is 6 weeks huh? 6x7 days? I'm looking forward to reading about what nvc will do once @K-1Applicant2017 calls . Probably like @Naes said...two more weeks to find the noa2 in order to assign a case#.

Did anyone call NVC today and get any answers?

I just got off the phone with nvc. He "droned" the typical "6 weeks" response. However I did ask about what happens after 6 weeks when you still have not received the Case#. He said they investigate but no more than that. So I called back and spoke to someone else. She said after 6 weeks they will look for the NOA2 approval, find it, then assign it a case#. She made it sound like it happens quickly. This I do not understand because I swore I read here that someone is past 6 weeks.

I filed my application May 4th. I got an RFE in the mail 11/13 and sent it back 11/20. The status online hasn't changed from "RFE was mailed out..." , did the status change for you to "processing" before getting an approved notice?

It changed to "Your Current Status: Response to USCIS’ Request For Evidence Was Received". No more communications from USCIS after that. Then the approval just "appeared" in the mail.

Congratulations, I am still waiting since on my RFE, they received my response 14 days ago. Maybe because of the Holiday, but I have not heard anything yet. hopefully soon!

Did they update your WAC to "Your Current Status: Response to USCIS’ Request For Evidence Was Received"? If they have you probably won't receive any more communications from USCIS. The approval letter will just appear in your mailbox.

thank you! i totally saw that page in your signature before had that page bookmarked, but my antsy-ness is making me forget things lol

One thing I noticed on the page in your signature was it says to pay the visa fee and then submit ds-160. I thought we submit ds-160 and then pay visa fee? or does it really even matter?

also, what happens if you submit the DS-160 before NVC gives the case number?

also @PadieNerkBrapone, you didn't get your NVC case number yet? You got your NOA2 before mine and I was hoping NVC would give the case number in 3-5 days

It does not matter when it is filled out or when to pay the fee. But you'll need both done before the Interview of course. You only need that fee receipt and ds-160 confirmation page barcode prior to setting up the Interview date. And you'll need to have that printed confirmation page of the ds-160 with you for the Interview. Now with the ds-160 it does matter "who" signs it, or rather "where" it is signed. I have researched and found that if the ds-160 is signed under a GPS location not in the country of the Beneficiary (in other words, not by the Beneficiary), it could be considered fraud. I am not 100% about that but I know I am not taking any chances. I filled out the ds-160, but I will send my fiancee the saved file to look over and she will sign it from Cambodia.

Not a chance of 3-5 days. Not anymore unless by divine intervention.

NVC # is +1 603-334-0700. Press 1 and then 5. Give the receipt number.

@K1VisaApplicant05 So I called and asked the guy what's the difference between the 0700 and 0888 numbers in reference to K1. He said you can call either number. Technically a K1 is a Non-Immigrant visa because of the 90 days, but once you marry and file the I-485, you're considered immigrant. I tried both numbers and they gave me the same nfo. Just toss a coin.

Following the spread, I expect it will take about 1 or 2 weeks to get approved and I just filled out my date on the spread. I appreciate.

And after USCIS send the "Your Current Status: Response To USCIS' Request For Evidence Was Received" message, you will probably get no further communications if approved. The approval letter will just "appear" in your mailbox. Get "USPS Informed Delivery" to keep an eye on that. Link in my signature.

Still waiting an update for our rfe

Do you have any idea what customer service number if we want to call if they receive the rfe response? It’s been a week since my fiancé sent it to California and we haven’t heard anything yet.

Look at the K1 RFE Master List in my signature for an idea on the wait times from different VJ members. Please fill it out.
