Kids were quite happy with the lego they bought at toys R us for 1/2 off, reg 49- they spent 24.99! Now of I could get the pieces off the floor and out of the bottom of my feet I might be happy.

Why the trouble? I printed off that form from the FORM SECTION... re the K1 and SSN, I have mine now- I just went in and did it. That sucks for you, do you ever feel like this is supposed to be getting easier? Good luck.

Applied for the SSN on Wednesday last week and it arrived in the post today! So now I have to go and write the drivers test for the state of North Carolina...and tips or hints to help me pass? Almost everyone I know that came to this state has failed the first time, I'd like to get it done in a day. Next step after this? Bank account. Alright. Well.... I worked as a nurse back home in Canada, in the addictions program where there are strict rules against this. But I can't tell u how many times in the morning wake up bed check that we found the these patients together- In my line of work they got kicked out of program. Whatever- they are going to do what they want - so for me it was just a funny thing to happen before shift change!

The DMV did mine with a affidavit of my new address.

I never did the supplement sheet- just sent my pack from the previous doc in Canada. Just got my appt and biometrics today with no RFE. Sweet, good luck.

Alright- last post promise. Hubbie called he knows a good lawyer who can get it down to 5 over( and you are allowed 1 of these a year?) and he'll do this for just the cost of the court fees. No insurance increase and no points on the licence-sweet, at least I can stop crying now. ANd he did'nt even yell at me. I'm just gonna go to bed now and hope nothing else happens. is it a full moon tonight or something?

20 I GUESS do how much to get a lawyer and sort it out....And I was just so happy hubbie called with the interview biometrics in Charlotte for Dec 5th. So I guess my day does'nt suck so bad. I am so mad at myself right now- I just got a court date for speeding. What is up with that! In NC, I guess if you are over a certian amt you get a court date......

SO the cop says to get a attorney- and show up in court and plead a case to get it reduced. Worst case senario a loss of your licence....this sucks so bad, any advice?Meliss...p.s. crying does NOT work cause I was and he did not give a s_ _t.

Entered at buff/bridge crossing too. No worries they were sweet and quick and had me and my 2 kiddios out in 1.5 hr! Did'nt check the car or go thru any boxes, (the car was my parents and they did'nt even ask that!)

I recieved a letter for each of us (me and the kids) saying they transfered the case to California for faster processing. Does the biometrics come after the transfer because according to the other timelines they did biometrics before the transfer. Whatever this all means we are going faster right? Also how did you recieve ther appt for biometrics vis snail mail or email? Thanks

So- if the case gets transferred to CSC office for faster processing there may be no interview? Sweet, just the bio's then right? Any CSC office or one in peticular? (congrats by the way)

Does everyone get this package? I did'nt get one (on a K1 visa) after my entry- I've filed and recived my NOA1. Do I need one or need to contact someone?

Hey gang! I was wondering if anyone could recommend a fun place to eat in Toronto. After looking at the website for La Milsa in Montreal, I got excited, thinking I'd be going there with my fiancee. Now that her interview is this month, we won't be going to Montreal. Anyway, are there places in Toronto that are comparable to that, or maybe a place that has a more romantic feel? Thanks!

You could always try the top of the CN tower, so fun, or take a boat ride over to the RCYC, the boat club over in the island. Canoe is also a super good one! Or head to Yorkdale area maybe the 4 seasons? Have fun I sure miss that city!

If you are organized and have a copy (Ibrought 2) of everything...breathe, you will be fine. All u need to do is follow the list (packet 4 for me) and you are ready. It's really not that bad, and the train ride to the city was fun! (First class is totally worth it!- 3 course meal and wine to boot!) Have fun, and enjoy the day!

Got my travelinsurance thru CAA, for me and the 2 liddies. It was about 500 $$ to cover us until December, up to 80000 for each person and it seemed like a good plan. So I did it. I am aplying for health insurance now for here in the states, it's going to be around 150 monthly for 4 people, sounds all good to me! Check CAA you can be covered thru the plan from Canada, they even called the head boss to check! Good luck.

So- since the kids have no name check / fingerprinting/ interview... or do they? Does this mean the time between filing and getting the card is shorter? or Do they hold it to make it the same as mom's? Would love some advice / previous experince to kind of settle the mind. Yup- and when I called the cosulate they actually then gave me the date and info I needed!

Did mine both ways - it does say on the website in RED! that you must complete them on the computer. They did not ask for them peticularly at my interview on the 15th of Sept- but BE PREPARED! Plus just so you know they say 7:30 for the doors, but they opened at 7!

The hotel Centerville is right across the street! I could see the embassy from my window, aswell, the chinese resturant in the hotel was yummy! I paid 90 bucks, and its only a 8 min walk to the train station. Good luck.
