  1. No one can pick him up? ANy friends or family to help you out? I say take a cab, that way he's direct to you and there with no problems. I have taken the train from TO to KW, it was from downtown T.O. then off to Montreal, so I don't know the actual $$. Try a cab from the airport to the train station then train to Kitchener, drops you right down by Kaufman loft area....good luck,

  2. My boys are now in a public school here in NC, must say have been very very impressed with them, help for anything, (son had dyslexia) and free tutoring. No problems with public schools here....I personally think the school system here is better than back home in Ontario. Far better.

Yup- I get it we are approved, but are they mailing the greencard? Welcome notice? Just a copy of the approval, I don't get it - any one else get this...and what came in the mail, card or ?????

  4. Yikes- this thread is not very much fun, but things can be worked out if people can put aside the emotions and anger that go along with a divorce/seperation. You will only hurt the children when anger gets involved......Maybe they can try mediation? You can basically stamp out the whole agreement at a fraction of the cost of lawyers and then take a final draft to the lawyers to be processed.....good luck to both parents and kids involved, lets hope this has a happy ending.

  5. Yup they finally are setting up the kids, YAY! Now they have to be in our hands but we are off tho Canada as soon as they are here!

  7. Hey all- still waiting on the kids cards, congressman is getting back to me tomorrow (she is confident they will be here mid June) What do you think about the kids leaving the US and entering Canada without the cards, then I send the cards to the dad who has them for the summer to reenter? He wants them home as per seperation agreement- as do I, and it makes sense. The just ship the cards to them after they are gone? What do you think- to chancy? Or doable...any advice?

  8. i moved from the GTA to small town Louisiana. biggest thing i notice is the racism. i was shocked one day after chatting with a neighbour (who happens to be black) about dogs and afterwards the fellow one door over (who is white) asked me what business i had talking with 'her'. i must have looked like an idiot with my mouth hanging open. what does one say to that sort of stuff?! i was warned that it's not like at home, but i guess until i experienced it, i didn't realize.

the other thing i miss is having things close enough to walk to, but that's a big city, small city thing. of course, i'm still getting some things imported from home (timmy's coffee, smarties, shreddies & red river to name but a few)

can't wait to go home at the start of next month for a visit! i can finally get my hair done!

    k

I agree- I can't get over the whole race thing....in NC this is a huge issue and it irritates me -we as canadians are too polite and politically correct I guess, that's why I just don't get it. I've had neighbours tell me the same thing, not to let my childeren play with "those" people, bugs the ###### out of me, I say you know where I come from we are so multi cultural i have a problem with that comment, they look at me and actually say" you'll learn" YIKES! No I won't learn and I will not teach my kids any diffrent, I am the same inside as everyone else and hope that my kids know it does not matter what colour you are EVERY one has feelings....I need to find a good come back when someone says this stuff any advice to help me along?

Sweet- what are the chances of Cali ordering a interview? No interview for me- (already have the card) It looks like the kids will have a summer vacation after all?!! Any one else this has happened to? How long was it for you? I also have the congressmen, who is FABULOUS! Helping me out, and they are calling for me next week to get someone to open it and go from there, so YAY!

  11. Ok- RFE all done, was the immunizations, darn it- mailed back the day I got them done in Raleigh, now today I get this-

Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case processing

    has resumed.

Yay- means they are back on track- since it's California and I have my greencard not thiers what are the chances of getting a interview for them, not high right, so maybe I can have those cards soon after all???? ANy one else this happen to after a RFE at california?

  12. Me - canadian Him- American....we were going to watch Borat last nite....he says I don't know if you should watch this its pretty bad with the AMerican stereotypes. He is fully aware of how most people act down south and the way Canadians look on it...he and I are a lot alike in our way of thinking...maybe cause hes a NY boy.... the stereo types were right dead on.....I just find most Americans do not want to think outside the box....and down here, may oh my...the redneck way of thinking rules....we just make it a point to ignore the worst of it and chat about it when we get home. I just think Canadians are so much more open and willing to accept things, more peace loving if you will. Who knows maybe they think the same of us.... that we are strange. I think the cultural diffrences are huge.....don't even get me started on recycling...........

  13. The OP sent a copy of the vaccination worksheet from the medical abroad, not a I-693A (same info, different form) which is what the RFE is asking for but only for the kids.

Then why is the OP so upset and angry, acting as though the USCIS is making a request out-of-this-world ? I'm sorry but If you are supposed to send something and you don't (intentional or not) and you get an RFE, you have absolutely no right to be mad.

Hmmm......maybe mad cause I have mine and not thiers? And the fact that they should have processed the whole family together...hmmm...and because when I have called them (which I did every 2 -3 weeks since I recieved mine) they could have done it then instead of sitting on someones desk for like 5-6 weeks! The fact is the kids are under me so if I am approved why the seperation of cases when they are to be done together? Whatever....this site is the only place to b_tch and complain and actually get someone else to understand what a process this has been for us. RFE, yes, pain in the butt, yes, should I have sent the form, yes, but you know? Who cares.

  14. So what if I faxed the info and then they sign it and mail it to me? That would work, what a pain in the behind......

I don't get it. According to your timeline, your AOS process is complete and you have your green card... why are they asking your for evidence now ?

Not for me for the kids filed under my K1 and they are taking their sweet time to get me the cards...I've had mine for 2 months, they are actually supposed to give any petitions under a k1 all at the same time so this blows. Oh well I have a appt on Wed for the kids then I will send the rfe asap! SAd, don't even care about mine, just theirs for travel!

Did you ever send their medical with the AOS package ?

A copy of the immunizations along with mine...did'nt ask for me....just them nor worries heading to get the I693 onm Wednesday then send it back.....hoping they move thier butts and send the card after that....we'll see, whats the time line for that?
