We'll see what happens.  An underlying reason for my anxiety is also due to my I-94 expiring in a little over a month.  I know we'll be fine regardless of what happens but I just don't like the thought of cutting it TOO close.

The only "issue" I had with USPS was when my greencard was mailed. According to USCIS my greencard was never assigned a tracking number (which we all know is bs since the tracking number is on the actual shipping label), so they could therefore not see a tracking number in their system and give it to me. It also never showed up in MyUSPS dashboard and they never seemed to scan it at all? I received my greencard without issues otherwise, but since it's such an important thing you kinda want to be able to track it. I checked the tracking number that was on the shipping label once I received my package and there was still no trace of it. I assume it was assigned a tracking number that didn't work? I have no idea.

Other than that me and my husband are very happy with USPS, we use them a lot in the business we run, issues are very rare.

Just to give my experience; I send off my AOS package with USPS on Thurday Oct 14 and it was scheduled to be delivered Oct 17. Well guess what? No delivery information on Monday the 17th (I had signature included). It was stuck on "arrived USPS facility Chicago". Three e-mail inquiries and speaking to two supervisors; they could not locate the package but the supervisor did tell me there are a hell lot of packages/envelopes being delivered daiily at the lockbox so the chance that your package missed it's scan is highly likely.

Bad luck cases can happen but gosh I wish someone had given me this advice 2 years ago.

I submitted my OPT Application through certified mail as recommended by my school. USPS lost it and got stuck "in transit to destination" for 2 weeks causing me to miss the deadline period and thus being rejected. I had to call USPS multiple times and talk to them through email until a week later they said my package was most likely "stuck on a conveyor belt" or something similar to that.

I fought tooth and nail for a re-appeal and lost ~$1000 in the process but USCIS still denied me and thus losing my status. That happened 2 years ago and I still have a heavy heart whenever I think back to that time.  I agree completely with @Cruise77 this process is expensive and stressful enough, even an extra $100 in shipping is worth it. I know I would have paid anything for that package to arrive on time..

@skim00 be proactive with USPS, if the package was insures, file a claim, send them an email, try to talk to them on the phone as well as through email. Good luck!! let's hope they find that package and deliver it asap!

So after two months of stressing over the paperwork, my husband and I finally sent our package last Friday.  We are in LA and the post office worker said the package would be delivered by this Monday.  Well, this has NOT happened at all.  The tracking has been stuck "in transit to destination" in Chicago for this entire week.  Even though I've called USPS and made an inquiry email, I haven't received any real help or answers.  I'm simultaneously angry and trying to be patient.  Anyways, this is just a warning to everyone who's about to send their packages out.  I suggest using FedEx or UPS because unfortunately USPS is too unreliable to trust with such important documents.

63 days waiting for my wife and I at Texas Service Center, has anyone heard anything at all yet even an RFE? I understand this is a long wait between NOA1 and NOA2 but it's driving me crazy.

USCIS just updated their official reported processing times, looks like December 31st, 2016 for permanent residents filing and November 2nd, 2016 for US citizens filling I-130 for spouse at Texas Service Center.

I've heard that Visa Journey's predictions are much more accurate though, we are predicted to get NOA 2 around December 9th, 2017 which is still ages away

Nope:  Effectively, our "I-130 approval notice" was a notice saying our I-129f was terminated precisely because our I-130 was approved.  That arrived so quickly it actually came the day BEFORE the date on the letter; our actual I-130 approval (i.e. NOA2) only arrived four (4) days later.  Since the I-130 MUST be filed first (because the 1-129f CANNOT be filed without a USCIS notice showing their receipt of the I-130) and its approval at any point IMMEDIATELY terminates the I-129f, the K-3 and K-4 are effectively dead letters.  As others here explained to me, Congress enacted them to remedy IR-1 (and CR-1) spouse visas processing times twice or thrice as long as now, but I/CR-1 processing times have improved to roughly the same length as K-3/4 processing times, so actually issuing K-3/4s is quite rare today.  That is actually good news:  K-3s are not taking any longer, but I/CR-1s are moving much more quickly—I/CR-1s come with a green card, so your spouse can work immediately!—

You are certainly free to file the I-129f for a K-3; including NOA1 (i.e. notice the USCIS received your I-130) waives the I-129f filing fee, so it costs you nothing but postage, and virtually all documentary evidence is the same.  But it is largely wasted time and effort:  In practice, it seems the I-129f is now solely for visas for fiance(e)s and/or their kids, not spouses nor their kids.

Glad you were able to get everything fixed and sent off the same day of receiving. Happy waiting. Praying things go smoothly for us all.

Well the good news is it looks like the November dates are starting to get knocked out a little faster in Nebraska. Once they get through November... the months following should be a bit quicker (less applications). Until then... booking trips to see the wife and kids for August and Christmas.  Tired of missing them.

MonicaP reacted to DILAW in I-130 "Normal Processing Time" According to the USCIS
    Hello,
I submitted my I-130 in December 2016.  I received my notice of receipt in December 2016.  I remember reading online the normal processing time is 6 months for I-130.  I received a RFE in April and I sent my response 68 days ago.  7 days after the USCIS received it, my case updated to "Response to RFE was received."  I read online it takes 45 - 60 days for the USCIS to respond to the response (if that makes sense).

I called today because it's been over 60 days since they received my response and my case was received over 6 months ago.  The USCIS agent put me on hold, then came back and told me "The normal processing time for I-130 is now 9 months."  I then asked her what about the 60 days for the USCIS to respond to a RFE response?  She put me on hold, then came back and told me "The 60 days is to update your case and we updated your case by notifying you that it was received."  WOW

    Hi and welcome!
Right now, you sit back and relax for a few months while your paperwork waits in line. Take the time to hang out on this forum, read the guides and join the discussion. Loads of good information and encouragement to be found. Join the Scandinavian sub-forum (or have your wife do, that's where you'll be able to learn about the medical and interview phase).
I'm sad to say that you probably wasted your time filing the i129f, as it is considered dead at this point. The i130 is most likely to be processed first, at which point the other petition will be closed
