Just as I was getting a bit depressed and even posted a topic regarding withdrawing my K1 and simply getting married next month in Colombia, I pulled up the web page and had been touched. I then checked the status and it had been approved. Within a minute I received like 12 emails of APPROVAL. Thanks for those who told me to be patient. It's a lesson well learned. Thanks!!!!

I lit a candle for my baby Noah ....
this is the message I put with it...
"this candle is for our Baby Noah who was only in our lives for a few short days but touched our hearts forever..."
Noah is in good hands right now with our LORD...he is watching over you & your family now... he is an angel (L)
may you & your family feel better soon. take care & God Bless
-
Thank you! I lit mine for a number of reasons.
One for hubby who is having quadrupal by pass surgery next week, one for my dad who died earlier this year, one for hubbys best friend who died last week , one for my best friends sister who died this year and one for the decision of the adoption panel today to tell my daughter and son-in-law they are about to become parents to a 14 month old son .
Sad times behind us, but good times ahead .
I wish each and every one of you good times ahead and peace in your hearts
Pauline

rUsSeLL&fAyE,
You are correct, income tax returns are due by April of the following year.
So what is you fiance's legitimate excuse for not filing a 2005 tax return in April of 2006? You write in your 3rd post that "my USC fiance... .... worked in the philippines for a while".
Yodrak
i understand now what you're saying but isn't it that filing will still be on APRIL? i am not sure though..correct me again if i'm wrong:-)he will file for one i am pretty sure but what i am concerned about is that...what if my inetrview will fall on march for example...what will happen to our I-134? what if the embassy askes for federal tax returns & he has not filed yet because it's not april yet? you kow what i mean?:-(
-
rUsSeLL&fAyE,
He could file one by filling out the form and mailing it in the the IRS, which a US citizen is required to do if their income exceeds a specified minimum level - no matter where in the world the income was earned, even the Philippines.
Yodrak
rUsSeLL&fAyE,That is not sufficient reason for not having filed an income tax return.

my USC fiance...studied & worked in the philippines for a while...he just came back to the US permanently last May '06..so no income tax was filed yet. ....why so? he hasn't been working in the US ever since??? how could be file one? ....

Well, of course, your sponsor and co-sponsor can always qualify with assets as opposed to income. You only need to provide the tax information is they want to qualify with income.
Let me just ask a question or two. Are you saying that neither your fiance nor his mother-in-law have filed a tax return over the past three years? Or are you saying that their income would not be sufficient, regardless of whether a tax return was filed? If their current income is sufficient (based on current jobs), then they can both get a letter from their employer with the required information (see instructions to I-134). Then they can both write a letter explaining why they do not have any tax returns. I would think, however, that even if they have the necessary income now, it might be a safer route to use assets to qualify.
Just my opinion.
my USC fiance...studied & worked in the philippines for a while...he just came back to the US permanently last May '06..so no income tax was filed yet. & also his mom - was a housewife back then...when his father resigned from work...her mom applied for a job & got hired...

help needed here please....
-
my USC fiance just started his job so he doesn't have any tax returns yet. he has a co-sponsor which is his mother but doesn't have any tax returns too...because they both just started working...just a few months ago... will that be a problem for the I-134? eventhough the co-sponsor meets the 125% povertyline?
thanks...

we are very happy for both of you...
a very very big CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
