It has been 2weeks since I submitted my evidence reference and not updated letter yet.  My NOA is August 3rd.

The officer said it takes 60days to reply to me.  Did anybody get a response about evidence recently? And how long did you wait?  Thanks

They do not send you a confirmation letter for RFE. They make a decision within 60 days. Mine took 1.5 month.

Yes. That's correct. If USCIS decide to ask for new biometrics, they will send us another appointment letter. It's something that is done automatically.

I was joking about the 3 months.. ;)

I really hope we are done by Feb 12 as my children's passports expire then and so does their passport extension stamp.

My forecast. Next update - mid of January will show September 3rd. Mid of February - September 20th.

No, i did the switch at the interview as that is permitted!

Still denied. Made no sense and still doesn't, as does the lack of opportunity to answer and refute any allegations which should have been afforded to me, as per 8 C.F.R. section 216.4(c)(4)

I am glad there's such opportunity to switch to a divorce waiver because my spouse and I, for example, have serious marriage issues that can lead to a divorce eventually, considering how long now CSC is taking to adjudicate I-751 who knows where we are going to stand by the time of potential interview. I have to foresee  all possible situations and If we happen to file a divorce I'll have to go there by myself and I was questioning myself will I be allowed to change my case to the waiver. Now I see that it's possible. However, I will not have the final decree in my hands yet which can make it worse.

    Simple enough.

Lasted one hour, asked to confirm I wanted to switch to a waiver, and that i tick the waiver box and then initial it, and then write on a plain piece of paper something about the circumstances of the marriage ending and sign and date it.

Asked for a copy of the divorce decree which I handed over.

She had a list of specific questions - presumably from the officer who had reviewed the petition originally  - which she asked. One of these seemed quite innocent at the time, but was in fact (as I found out at a later date) directly related to the false allegations made, that I was given no opportunity to refute or answer (as I should be, so breached their policy).

The interviewer also straight up lied to me on a couple of occasions.

Some of the documents with the answers to these questions were in the file, some were not.

I gave some more evidence - she only wanted a fraction of what I had with me, mainly concentrating on proof of travel and financial co-mingling as late as possible in the marriage.

She looked through and took a handful of photos from the multiple albums I had with me.

I guess I will now have another one of these to look forward to next year, along with my N-400 interview - hopefully done as a combined interview.

Thank you, I would freak out.

The official timeframe is within 60 days.  However, most people here got approved in 2 weeks.

My RFE package was delivered the day after Thanksgiving.  I haven't heard anything back yet.  It could be due to the holiday season or I might be one of unfortunate ones that has to suffer through a long wait due to unkown reasons.

I made an infopass for Dec. 28 to check whether they received my package or not, giving me a week or so to re-file RFE if they did not receive it for some reason.

My RFE for AOS 485 took them 1.5 months to make a decision

Isn't this an irony that you have waited for more than 16 months and still it falls under normal processing. USCIS is very smart they know how to play the game. Yesterday I was thinking and came to realize that since March-2017 until today CSC moved from June-5 to July-27-2016, which means in last 9 months CSC moved just one month from June-5 to July-27. Absolutely bizarre what else can i say <_<

I'll tell you more. Since last November they moved from April 2016 to July 2016. 1 year = 4 months. USCIS Effectiveness = 30%.

I read this from December 2016 Filer:

Interview for employment-based AOS is essential and required under the new USCIS policy. That's one of the major change in USCIS policy this year. I-751 still remain the same and I agree with you guys that the attorneys scare people to get some money out of them. Below is the new policy effective from October-2017.

    https://www.uscis.gov/news/news-releases/uscis-to-expand-in-person-interview-requirements-for-certain-permanent-residency-applicants

Based on the link i-751, is not included as mandatory but random

Once again, new policy did not affect Removal of Conditions but USCIS is planning to extend this mandatory interview for all types of I-751 in future. No dates were given. If you check out current approvals in August 2016 and July 2016 filers threads, you'll see none of them reported being called for the interview. Chill out.

A lot of paranoid people on here raising this thread to the top just to tell us about how scared they are?

cmon now, we come here to see how the approvals are going, and I find someone writing a paragraph "advice" on skipping your travel plasn with legal documents 🤦‍♂️

Some of us are busy, I would love to not check this thread if its not at the top, rather than going through words diarrhea about someone doing their job, checking documents.

How can you be so freaked out that some low level airline employee didnt want to lose his job by double checking with a supervisor? Just like airlines dont want to let people board without papers, they also dont want to deal with the headache of rejecting someone with paper so relax and let people look at documents that are new in circulation due to backlog.

Your paranoia is a personal problem that wont be cured with US passport, trust me thats a personal issue you need to fix, life scares you, fix it or accept it.

I have a friend who is a US citizen and he couldnt board flight back to US from cancun because he only had passport card, we all flew and the USC had to drive to the US boarder and enter on foot. Just a small example that US citizenship wont cure your paranoia as you prob would have been hospitalized if that happened to you or your wife, especially when airline says "new administration directive" 😂

Another person speculating about interviews for everyone and how this makes the process more hellish when clearly data shows if everything is in order an interview speeds up the process by few months. Relax people, this is a backlog we are all going through not a personal case delay that requires more attention

Seriously tho, there is a general forum for these posts, lets keep this clean

see you guys all in a year with smiles on your face.

Don't judge, they mean well and wanted to let us know. I personally get annoyed with endless questions on how many days one should wait for their approved green card in the mail: 3 or 5 or 7. Seriously, who cares to have this endless discussion here when you've been approved. If you worry go create a new thread.

Sorry, but I feel very compelled to spread my paranoid experience and I really hope someone else picks it up and changes their future travel plans.

On our recent trip abroad, my resident spouse experienced an inconvenience on egress at the ticketing counter and another inconvenience with CBP in arrival here in the states. In Peru, the ticketing agent paused us from the line to question our documents. You have to realize, we are not on US soil and we have very little recourse should they disapprove of our documents. Plus as a foreigner, there's language, bureaucracy, bribing, etc. Ultimately, we were able to proceed after a supervisor inspected the stamp. However the perception of threat did unnerve us quite a bit.

On arrival to the states, my spouse and I separated in two separate queues at immigration. I sailed through since I am a citizen. However the wait for my resident spouse was excruciatingly hard for me. The process took far longer than we have ever experienced and no officer would entertain my queries for information about what was taking so long. After 25 minutes, the terminal cleared out and that left me an undetermined amount of time to sit and think of all the worst case scenarios about what was going on -- including detention. Finally 20 minutes later, my spouse cleared. That was 45 minutes progressively increasing agony. I can't even describe the kinds of emotions I felt during those 45 minutes of being separated, not knowing if it was just a small hiccup or possibly the first hour of the worst day of my life. I just never want to experience that ever again.

Given our current political environment, a heightened sense of anxiety warranted. ICE is casting their dragnet far and wide to snatch as many aliens as possible to meet our President's quotas. Any little mistake -- no matter how minuscule, insignificant, or immaterial -- is all it takes.  To this day, my spouse does not know why it took forever for CBP to run secondary, what they were searching for, or investigating. Nor would they share anything other than "all clear".

And yes, the experience was sufficient enough for us to postpone a trip to Europe.  That will wait until my spouse is naturalized and has a US Passport. We never want to experience an inconvenience, ever ever again.

You told us about your feelings - and I am personally sorry because I would freak out too - but nothing on  what your spouse was asked about during the secondary check.

The one and only reason I wanna apply for citizenship is so that I can eliminate applying for visa for most countries I wanna visit. It’s such a hassle and burden applying for visas. I just got a UK, Japan and German tourist visa and I tell ya I didn’t find it funny paying all those visa fees, going in for interviews and mailing out applications. Whereas if I had a passport, all I need is my round trip ticket and hop on a plane

what a life! I wouldn't care much about green card, had I opportunity to travel to UK, Japan and German.

I contacted USCIS yesterday regarding my two pending cases... the officer said my Roc application is in NBC?!!!! does this mean it's definitely going to be combined with my N400 ?

It can mean USCIS just allocates workload and transfers CSC cases to NCS because if you look at the processing times list of forms, you'll see that NSC (Is that what you meant by NBC?) doesn't even process I-751 applications. Neither do they process N-400.

I just think this data of processing time from visajourney is wrong. There is no way they are checking on September 29, 2016 when August people are dying here...

I checked on the I-751 September 2016 fillers and VSC is approving like a PRO.

I also checked the Fiscal Year 2017 4th quarter, it was update on 12/07/2017:

    I-751

    Received: 166,431

    Approved: 89,001

I know is not good news but I'm just trying to figure it out what is going on.

Definitely timelines wrong, probably VJ is projecting on "as of today" based on the latest update from USCIS website which is as of 09/30/17. But it doesn't correspond with reality anyway.

    Folks,

Is there any rational explanation about what is going on with CSC? Anybody has any info?

There were few versions of why it's happening: 1) Change of administration of CSC (that's what I was told at my infopass) 2) Priority given to the citizenship matters (informal directive from the White House) 3) Huge amount of applications filed before the elections in 2016. However, the truth is no one knows really.

The dates are also reflecting what date they were processing for the reported date, not now. At the current report, on Sept. 30th they were processing July 27th, 2016 applications.

We happened to discuss this on this forum too. It's a trick. This is as of TODAY, not September. Because real people report real dates here, now they report around 08/10/16. Back in September they were reporting June 2016. So as of November 30, 2017 USICS is approving applications filed on 08/10/16, however you will see this date "as of 09/30/17" in USCIS chart which will make us think the situation is better but it's not. We're not stupid.

Ok, I called the USCIS call center..

The lady said the following: Your background check came back the 23rd of August but your file has not been forwarded to your field office because your had I-751 pending and NBC requested I-751 from CSC to complete the file and send it over to the field office. She doesn't know why CSC didn't send it over right away and waited until they approved I-751. She said that the I-751 file is now in transit to NBC. She also told me that they wouldn't send the full file to the field office until they've been able to schedule an interview - but the field office is backed up so that might take some months.

I don't know how to interpret what she is saying as I was under the impression that once the file was complete, NBC sends it to the field office for interview scheduling.. Anyway, for some reason CSC decided they didn't want to send my file to NBC and instead adjudicated my I-751, then sent it.. so it explains why I'm not in-line, because the file is not completed.

On the San Francisco Field Office filers thread, someone told me that I'm pending background checks - that's why I'm not in-line yet. The lady on the phone told me that background checks completed August 23rd... So that's not the case.. I'm just waiting because the field office is backlogged. Thought you guys wanted to know.. even tho it's not I-751 information...

The applications for I-751 get adjudicated in service centers unless they have doubts if they should approve it over there. In this case they delegate this authority to a filed office by sending the case to them. The field office can either approve it without additional requests or schedule an interview.

New processing times update today, but zero movement since 11/7. It is still saying processing 8/3/2016.

Last update for I-751 was November 9th, then this table got updated on November 16th and December 1st without any move for I-751. This is because the table gets updated couple of times every month, but only once per month for each specific type of application. I think they will update it for us mid of December and it will be 08/10/16 or so.
