Yeah you are absolutely right and your bank is totally wrong. The new extension letter states that your conditional green card is extended for 1 year from the expiration date of your green card. The extension letter issued few months ago is confusing but USCIS modified it for the new issued GC extension letters. If your bank has a problem with that I would suggest scheduling infopass appointment and stamp your passport with I-551 stamp which is mostly 1 year extension.  Legally you are a permanent resident with a pending ROC but some people are so ignorant and lacks knowledge of the law. 

No. No legal requirement to obtain a stamp, nor in my personal experience any issue with a a gap between the expiry of a previous extension letter or stamp (I am on my fourth) and a new one.
 
 
 
 
 
I have posted on this subject before somewhere when the requirement to carry was discussed.
 On the face of it, from the quote above, it looks like a slam dunk that you must carry something at all times. However, delve a little further in to the law, and it gets a little less clear.
 
It could be argued that since no valid 'alien registration card' nor 'certificate of alien registration' has been issued after the expiry of the GC, during the initial 1st yr ROC, or following the 1st year, than there is none that can be carried.
 
Note:  A 'Registration Certificate' is defined in 264.1 - HERE
Amongst many other documents, it lists the I-94 (not applicable), I-766 (not applicable), and of course the I-551 (expired). It does not mention a temporary I-551, only an I-551 card.
Crucially, the I-797/I-797C is not listed, and as you are not permitted to file an I-90 either, that is another possible document/receipt removed.
Also in that list:
 (c)    Replacement of alien registration. Any alien whose registration document is not available for any reason must immediately apply for replacement document in the manner prescribed by USCIS.  
 
Therefore, by having an expired document, but by applying for a replacement alien registration card, (which, by filing the I-751 on time you have done), your legal obligations have been fulfilled.  
 
 
 
 
 
 

For any who might need the info my wife's I-751 was processed today by CSC, and the new card is now being produced.  NOA1 date was July 20th, 2016, no RFE and no interview.
 
It's been over four and a half years since we were married...  what a process, glad its almost over. 
 
Anybody have any info on how long CSC cards are taking to arrive at the moment?

Do you mean Adjustment Of Status? It wasn't an AOS interview, it was an IR-1/CR-1 interview and it was back in the UK.

My first NOA was dated July 20, 2016, and then got a Case Status change email on Sept 27, 2017 that said my card was in production.

USCIS processing time for I751 CSC just changed to July 19 th!!

Just an update, I received text messages from USCIS and saw in the website that my case was approved .
NOA 7/19/2016 and Approval on 10/11/2017.

Can't wait to receive the GC and then I will apply for the N-400, all documents are already ready but I wanted to wait until the 10 yrs GC to attach to the list. It was a long wait (July 7, 2016 to October 6, 2017) but I can't wait to move forward with the last step.

Hey guys i have been approved,i applied in october 2016 my NOA 10/25/2016, biometrics was 11/16/2016 . i got my approval letter today and i'm a divorce waiver filer. My service center is Vermont.It says 60 days to receive the card. i'm so happy and i pray that everyone receives their approval notices in Jesus name Amen.

They update it every mid month, so we might have an update in about 10 days.

There are some June filers that have yet to be approved, but I believe the majority of them have been, I certainly understand your frustration, but it is ok for July filers to be happy, we have been waiting for a long long time like you.

I have been following this forum through out my I751 process and it helped me get through it so I wanted to share my dates with you folks.
Case received by CSC on June 21st, 2016 and I just got the card being produced email update on August 31st, 2017.
I hope you all get approved soon.
