My oath was July 15, 2019 and applied on the same day at Philly post office.  Expedited ( $60) and got on July 24 and passport card  ($30)came July 26.  Waiting for NC to come back.  Applied renunciation of Indian passport, expected to get next week and will then apply for OCI, which I am expecting to get by the end of August.  Would like to finish with the process as quickly as possible.

Did you apply for your passport.  Apply passport card, it will come handy to keep in the wallet and for domestic travel

    Hi Dilip,

I think you already done for renunciation of Indian passport and you got your OCI card.

Can you please help me which process is better :

A: Only renunciation than after submit for OCI / how many days will take for this?

B: Renunciation with OCI at the same time/ how many days will take for this?

As you applied renunciation first and than OCI.

    Thanks

hi guys well it was finally my turn i had my n400 interview yesterday , i still have not received my 10 yr gc yet so i was hoping i would get a combo interview. So i got everything prepared for both interviewsjust in case and went with my husband as well. They called me in and the officer noticed that my i751 was still pending and she said she would do my n400 interview first and then my i751 after and would will call my husband in. We provided her with additional paperwork we thought would be important to add into our folder like our new house and other similar paperwork she didnt really ask any question for the i751 we had provided pretty good evidence prior to this day . She recommended me for approval. So now i just have to wait to receive my oath ceremony notice . I am very happy its an awesome feeling and i hope everyone else will receive soon these type of news.

    Congratulations.

You get the approval letter for N-400 ?

    OR

Did you receive the letter that you passed the N-400 civics test but due to pending I-751 decision can't be made. It will take 120 days for decision?

I brought a well-stuffed 3"-thick binder to my N-400 interview in Baltimore last month, carried in a tote bag.  No-one had a problem with that.  However...the IO looked at precisely one thing (our 2018 tax documents) from that file.  We brought roughly twice as much to my AOS interview four years ago, and the IO looked at almost none of that either.  I totally understand the urge to bring every possible scrap of evidence you've painstakingly gathered over the past few years, but unless you have some major red flags I can promise you that you don't need to bring everything you have in those 4 big folders, and the poor overworked IO definitely doesn't need to see most of it, even for a combo interview.

Thanks. It great to hear that your location was Baltimore same as mine.

Best of luck and thanks again for reply.

[1] Four big folders of additional evidence or  4 big folders of old and new evidence? [2] Could not understand how your wife NC is with USCIS?  Does she have US passport?

    Congratulations! told you so.

When you request for new naturalization certificate, You have to submit the original old one.

After marriage my wife changes her last name and submit original naturalization certificate to replace with new one with changed last name.

The request is pending and we have the receipt.

4 new one folders as it is a combo interview I-751 and N-400.

Yes, She has US passport with old name before marriage.

I did similar, so in the end I submitted only new tax 2018 papers and new apartment lease. The officer asked for anything new, maybe newer photos. My last photos were submitted online with N400 in January 2019, photos from Dec 2018.

He said I submitted a lot of evidence anyway.

as I said, I put everything in slimmer backpack, and no problem taking it with me inside.

    Thanks for the reply.

A question, I have pending I-751 and N-400 and submitted in July 2018( N-400) in Baltimore, MD.

After the N-400 submission till interview date, I have additional evidence. I have a 4 big folders.

My 1st question is : Is they allow big bag or small luggage to carry in the interview area?

After marriage my wife change her last name and add my last name in her name.

She filed USCIS for name change and it is still pending with USCIS. Although we have court order for her name change also.

My 2nd question is : My wife naturalization certificate is with USCIS and We have photocopy of  my wife naturalization certificate. I have a receipt that her name changing is in progress in USCIS.

Can i have to prepare r bring additional documents or anything for this ?

    Please suggest ?

The IO asked for my GC and passport, and I think I showed my DL either at Security or when I checked in.  I wasn't asked for any other documents at the interview -- but I had a three-inch-thick binder full of everything I'd uploaded with the original application, just in case they wanted to see any of it.

I wasn't asked for tax documents, but I provided some at the interview anyway.  (I had uploaded tax transcripts for 2015-2017 with my application.)   The IO asked whether I owed any unpaid taxes and I explained that a 2018 tax transcript wasn't yet available because we made a minor error on our 2018 return and got the IRS equivalent of an RFE 😄 .  I had brought copies of the IRS notice and our response (sent within a couple of days of receiving the notice), including a letter admitting the error, a calculation of the extra tax we owed (only about $100), the additional schedule to our tax return and a printout of the online payment we made via the IRS Direct Pay webpage, showing that we had paid everything we owed.  She scanned all 8 pages and added them to my file.

Congratulations to all who have successfully passed the naturalization.

Omg, you’re way over the processing time for i751. Did you try to submit out of processing time inquiry?

As far as n400 interview of my friend, it was terrible. They held her there for 2 hours and were digging her life all over. Mostly the focus was her divorce, even though she got divorced way after her i751 was approved. Overall she waited 13 months for n400 interview and now it’s 3rd month after interview.

Thanks for sharing the experience. Yes, Its not good if she has approved I-751 than it should not a point for her N-400 delay.

When i request for I-751 delay, I got reply:

We are going to adjudicate both I-751 and N-400 at the same time. Also my N-400 time extend from July 2019 to March 2020.

I’m waiting for i751 interview in Baltimore office. So far, it’s still not scheduled. 751 is pending for 19.5 months. My friend had her n400 interview there in March. So far her oath ceremony is still not scheduled. What is that tells you about Baltimore office? It’s super slow.

Thanks for the quick response. My I-751 is pending from July 2017 and N-400 from August 2018.

If your friend share the interview experience, if yes please share.

    Thanks

Dont fret over it. These estimated times are there so that we dont trouble USCIS. I'm from Houston, when I applied in June 2018 it showed an Estimated completion in May 2020 (it still shows that) and I received the interview notice in April 2019 (Less than a year from filing).

If you want a realistic time frame, follow the status of people who have filed a few months before you. That will be indicative of the current trend.

    Hope it helps.

Thanks. I got my answer. Best of luck for all of us.

    Thanks again.
