MARRIAGE BASED AOS (Filed Concurrently)
Priority date: January 24
Received text messages: January 29
Notice of Action: February 4
Biometrics appointment letter: February 11
Biometrics done: February 20
Request for Initial Evidence: February 16
Initial Evidence received: March 14
Expedite request: April 10 (Day 76 based on job offer)
Response to expedite request: April 16 ('your case is in our normal processing time')
Interview ready to be scheduled: April 25
Card (EAD) was mailed to you: April 27
Interview scheduled: April 30
Interview date: June 4Interview Experience:
The appointment was at 10:45. We reached there half an hour before the time, we waited in waiting area and the officer came out and called us around 12:00. Officer was super nice, young and friendly. He took oath and then ask us for ID's and other identification, We gave him original passports and its copies with it, he appreciated that bringing copies saves us time. He asked questions where and how we met and how we dated and that's it. I told him our story and then he asked for if we need to add any things to our file. I gave him joint bank statements, my spouse payslips, insurance paper, and album to show him and some pictures with name labels separately printed on paper. He then asked just yes and no questions on form i485. He took my picture and biometrics and told us that its simple and easy and it seems good to me but I can't directly approve because I have about 7 to 9 files today which I have to arrange in order etc. He closed the file and said I am sending it so it will be approved, and don't expect any update until next week. And in 3 to 4 weeks you will get GC in mail. Then he explained about the 2 year condition and remind yourselves to apply for removing the condition before completion of two years. He then cheerfully bring us out to the door.
I am thankful to visa journey and people whom I get helped by reading a lot of people's experiences. May be my experience could be helpful for someone who needs it.
Did you surrender or give your combo card on your aos interview?

My EAD and AP approval notices arrived today. I want to be excited, but the fact that I had my interview on the same day as they got approved and that there is no update on my green card yet makes me feel disappointed.
Well I didn’t received anything yet. But i have already my usps tracking for ead/combo card. While my gc still says new card was being produced and already approved right after aos interview.
-
Got an update with my case.My ead has been delivered by usps, my ap is approved and my gc is approved also. Is that means i will be receiving ead/combo card soon? Even my gc is now approved?
-
How long does it take to receive the gc from card was being produced? Do they send you an usps tracking number even for ead/combo card?

No, you two just happened to have your EAD approved slightly before your GC.
My EAD and AP were denied yesterday, because I had already got my GC approved.
Got confused. Which one will be receiving soon. Since my aos still on validation error even though I finished my interview.

I also had my interview yesterday and I have the same change with my EAD. I thought it was a coincidence until now.
Maybe it happened because we skipped our EAD?
How’s your interview? My aos still in validation error. And ead still in card in production. I guess i will wait what will comes first in my mailbox

Just finished with my aos interview this morning. The IO was really nice, he don’t ask any evidences from us. But we gave my husband’s recent w2 and our health insurance even though he doesn’t ask for it. After the yes or no questions from I-485, He just ask us to tell him our love story. The interview was fast and easy, it took only 10mins. But we hope there’s no problem coz he doesn’t say if we were approved on the spot. Only said he doesn’t see anything wrong from our application and we will be sending approval mail soon and no timeline for it. When we arrived home i checked my status online my aos still on validation error (though it’s been more than 2mos now) , my ap still on received and my ead was on new card was being produced. I’m confused. What does it mean? Will i be receiving an ead soon right after my aos interview? Anyone same situation?

The passport photo we submit with our I485 application ^^
My case status didnt update before or after interview. It stayed at ready to scheduled. It only changed when they approved my case. Happened one month after my interview.
Did you received your gc already? I will be having my ais interview tomorrow

Just curious.😂 what picture will be used for GC? Is it the the first one while we did during biometric sched? Or during aos interview? Thanks!😁

It is not a good news for people starting a job, and waiting for the EAD. GC requires interview, and it may take few rounds and times for them to review, even after the interview.
Yeah! But think on the other side just after interview your case will be updated and some got their gc for just a week. Gc is permanent and ead you have to renew it as it expires. Just saying.😃

It seems more people are getting the gc than people getting EAD. USCIS must be joking. They are way too slow on the EAD.
This is great news. Right? And I think it’s fast for some of January filers. GC is better.

Just wondering could ssn deliver my ss card right after I received my gc?

I had my medical July 2017 and interview was yesterday and was fine. On my medical it says 6 months but the rules on the USCIS website state 1 year so you don’t need a new medical unless you are missing anything, such as required vaccinations. If on your vaccination copy it is signed as “complete” at the bottom you are good to go. There’s actually a link on here somewhere to the USCIS rules regarding medicals. I took a copy of that with me just in case but it wasn’t necessary.
I checked my DS3025, my medical and required vaccinations are checked complete. Thank you! Can you send me a link of the uscis rules?

USCIS would notify you they cannot finish adjudication on your case because of the medical deficiency and would advise you to do a medical examination with a sealed Form I-693 and bring during your interview that would be scheduled at a later date.
Is that the rfe before receiving the interview sched? Hmm, I don’t have it.😊
3 minutes ago, Nouchigang said:If I remember well, medicals are valid for 1 year so you should be good to go. I wouldnt do one unless you are issued an RFE for it, because this is a good $300 to get a new one
That’s also what I’m thinking that’s it’s good for a year, I just want a clarification coz I don’t want rfe on the day of my interview. Thank you! You think they will still issue me a combo card?

If you didn’t receive no courtesy letter from USCIS to bring one to your interview then you may not need it because you did one during your K1 Visa process. I’m also on K1 but mine was valid for 6 months until the date my visa expired. I suggest you do one to be on a safe side.
What does courtesy letter looks like?

I have incoming gc interview this month, I had my medical last Sept.2017. Do I need to re do my medical? I’m currently adjusting from k1. Thank you!

Hello everyone! This is not visa related.😅 I would like to ask if it’s nice to call or email the company you had interview with, after the given time they said you will hear something from them or the result.
