Okay,
I have to say this. I know we are all in this together and everyone is waiting.... but I am getting flat out calloused to people posting "Oh, Texas" or "Oh Potomac" and how they're up to May already and it's so hard and taking so long. Like... Nebraska is still behind on Nov-Jan and was rocking Feb and then seemed to have come to a hard stop. Had hopes of seeing my June approval by Valentines Day but.... I guess I'll be living vicariously through other service centers.
Sorry for the negativity there. I'm only at 162 days, I guess it's jealousy in that I know that I have a lot longer wait ahead than those June filers lucky enough to have been put in a less hellish service center.

Little update for all our fellow june filers. We have called Texas Service Center last week due to their processing time still saying they're working on Nov16 cases and rhe response of the person we spoke to on the phone was that in fact they are still working on cases from Nov16 BUT this doesn't mean they're not any further with processing than that, meaning there might be some open cases they have due to wrong filing or still missing documents. He said we should expect worst case 6-12months from now.
I was so shocked I almost started crying and wouldn't believe it.
However I looked through the other forums of filers up to March17 and they're starting to get their NOA2 letters now so hope's up. Looks like best case we can hope with responses in december...would definitely be a nice christmas present 😊
Stay strong yall.

Yes, you can submit a petition for an IR2. The child is your immediate relative because you married her father before she was 18. However, since you're not the biological parent of the child, and the child's biological parent is an LPR and not a US citizen, your step-daughter will not automatically become a US citizen when she arrives in the US with her IR2 visa. She'll become an LPR. She'll have to follow the same rules as any other LPR to maintain her residency and not lose her green card.
Your husband can also file a petition, but since he's not a US citizen he would be filing for an F2A visa. Family preference visas have annual numerical limits, and there's a waiting line. Currently, the wait is about 3 years. There is no wait for immediate relatives of US citizens, so it would be much faster if you petition for her than it would be if your husband petitions for her.
How long has your husband been an LPR? If he got his permanent resident status through his marriage to you, then he's eligible to apply for US citizenship three years after becoming an LPR, presuming you're still married at the time. Once he becomes a US citizen then his daughter will become a US citizen automatically when she's been admitted to the US as an immigrant (i.e., she enters with an IR2 visa), and she's in the physical custody of her US citizen biological parent. Once she's a US citizen then there are no rules about maintaining residency - she can leave the US anytime she likes, and return anytime she likes.
Maybe you can file for the IR2 now - it takes a little under a year, usually. Your husband can work on becoming a US citizen as soon as he's eligible. That would probably be the best solution for your situation.

Greetings to everyone,
I just joined this topip, I filed in May 2017, you know one thing about this whole issue is that once the uscis gives you a priority date, there is nothing else to do than to cross your fingers and start waiting, I have seen some cases approved withing 2months and some even up to a year, so it all depends on once destiny, as for me, I desided to hand it over to God through prayer that his will be done!
My prayer also is that everyones case that is due to be approved should be released henceforth in Jesus name!
Amen.

Glendale1989 reacted to li_09 in expedite / humanitarian reasons
Yes I really think it does depend on the person you get.
I had initially sent in my husband's military orders as evidence for expedite. They reviewed my case and it wasn't enough for them. I guess maybe they thought 'your husband is not even in the U.S anymore. What's wrong with waiting in your own country until he gets back?'. They said they needed more evidence that it was an "extreme emeregent situation". He replied with an email saying something along the lines of 'I want my wife in America because she's living in a crowded house which is not a good enviroment for my son'. I thought, great we're for sure going to be denied now. But surprisingly they approved it.
I mean I know it's a stupid reason and I'm not saying that's solely the reason why they approved it all I'm saying is don't give up. Just hope you keep getting a different person
