I am on the same boat. Sent monday, delivered wednesday. No text or email notifications yet. Check not yet cashed.

Except mine was sent to Lewisville via Fedex

Any updates for you yet? We still have not received any text or email notifications (parcel sent 19/8, received 21/8), but I checked our bank today and the cheque has just been cashed. So hopefully that's a good sign!

Edit: Oops, just saw your update above, and you got your text notifications yesterday. :) Maybe ours will come today.

  3. I had the same question when I filled in the form. My first and middle name were both shown as 'given names' on the I-94.

I put my middle name in the 'middle name' field in the I-485 form and there were no issues. Obviously not sure if this would always be the case, as every case is different, but in my particular experience it didn't cause any problems.

  4. Good luck in your interview! I agree with what others have said. In our own interview experience, we took our wedding photo album, and a 'timeline' of our relationship with photos and social media posts etc., but the only thing the IO was interested in was the co-mingling evidence. They looked through our joint banking info, health insurance papers...and didn't look at the photos. It felt good to have them, just in case, but the focus was definitely on the co-mingling evidence.

  5. @Aviinashh I'm so happy to see you finally have your EAD approved, hope it's arrived and you can look forward to the next step now. :)

@GoodVibesOnly So sorry to see your interview was cancelled, was a reason given? :( Hopefully they can reschedule for you soon. I can only imagine how frustrating it is to meet so many roadblocks on the way. Edit: I see above that it was unforeseen circumstances..so frustrating.

    What is roc??

Congratulations :) when was ur pd ??

ROC = removal of conditions, if you've been married for less than two years when you go through AOS, you're given a conditional greencard. After two years, you go through ROC to have those conditions lifted. :)

    Congrats!

What was the interview like, and what happened when you were approved? Did you receive your green card right there or do they send it to you?

I’m just wondering what to expect next Wednesday for my interview in northern Mass.

Thank you! Our interview lasted about 30 minutes. Our interview notice and ID were checked first of all. The IO went through the I-485 form and asked questions based off that. Also asked about how we met. They went through the yes/no questions towards the end of the form (if you filled out the new version of the I-485 then there are quite a few). There was no issue with my medical (I didn't send the I-693, only a copy of the DS-3025, and I was a bit worried). At the end, we were told about the approval, and that the card should arrive in the post in a few weeks. I've checked the USCIS status and it's been updated.

Also, as for the co-mingling evidence, we didn't have a huge pile - we gave evidence of our joint bank account and recent bank statements, joint health and life insurance, and a joint utility bill. They didn't look through all of our relationship photos, though I did take along a folder. Before leaving the IO explained about the ROC process, encouraged us to learn my rights as a greencard holder, and explained about returning the EAD card when the new one arrives. Hope that helps! Best of luck in your interview. :)

My EAD/AP combo card arrived today! It looks very official - more than my driver's licence, even.

I also got a notification that my green card interview is scheduled for December 19th, which will be a nice Christmas present if all goes well!

I was impressed with the EAD card too!
Congratulations on the interview date, that would be a nice present. Best of luck.
We had our interview today and were approved! The IO was very professional, nice, and gave us good information for the next steps (ROC).

  8. I think the cover page note is fine, I put something similar in mine. I understood the same, that the I-693 is not required within a year of your original overseas medical, providing the vaccination sheet is correctly filled in. However, there is always a chance that your medical paperwork is lost and a new I-693 can be requested. I believe this has happened during the AOS process, whilst waiting for the interview, and also at the interview itself, when the IO can ask for a new medical.

I have my interview in two weeks and will take a copy of the I-693 instructions, in case questions arise. Our AOS was submitted in August and up to now, we haven't received an RFE about it. Like you, I included only a copy of the DS-3025 marked as complete.

I'll update after the interview and let you know if there was any issue with the medical. :)

  9. OK, so our EAD status updated yesterday to 'new card is being produced'! So everybody check your statuses, there could be good news. :)

One question - my GC interview notice said to bring all documents USCIS has sent me, including any EAD/AP cards. Does anyone know if I have to hand it over, and can no longer use it in the meantime? Just wondering, as my interview is next month, if it is worth applying for jobs when I may not have the card for too long.

Wish you all good news soon!

  10. ...Having just posted about waiting for the EAD, I was very surprised to find a letter from USCIS in the post - our interview has been scheduled for next month! We live in the least populous state, so perhaps there aren't as many cases at the local office, but still, when I last checked the processing times, they were working on October 2016 cases in August of this year. Nothing has come about the EAD and AP applications. So, a big surprise to have the I-485 interview scheduled so soon, and there'll now probably be a four-week mad scramble to get everything together (cue the nerves). I really hope you all hear something about your applications soon too, EAD or GC or otherwise.
