well i am 100% sure, because i went a bunch of times, and passport worked just fine
(california)
-
i already passed the written test. ugh i guess ill just stick to my gigantic passport for now.
-
well, i am getting to that, but i still need some driving practice before i go take the DMV test
-
OP, did you get you interview notice before or after 1jan 2007? cause ive heard all those who get interviews after that should have name checks completed. just wondering if its true or not.
-
can it be used to, say, get into bars and such? im sick of carrying my big ugly passport around
-
as for me i never bothered to make copies of what i submitted so ill just have to trust USCIS on not losing anything.
-
talk to a lawyer if that will make you more comfortable but i think you'll be fine
-
i'm having my interview soon already
and that is with me losing a couple of weeks because of an RFE
-
the best you can do is go to infopass
-
wow, it was probably a nice present for you to make up for the rudeness you encountered during infopass (if im not mistaking it was you?)
i wish that happens to me. (the 10 year green card, not the rudeness lol)

USPS is usually horrible at updating their tracking, i think it's normal. i'm glad i used UPS for my initial AOS application. though, i had to use USPS for RFE reply, since theres only a PO Box address available, and it took forever for them to update the tracking.

wow this person has to be one of the most lazy thread starters ever :]

Infopass won't do anything. Senator won't help, that's also a known thing. Sue them right now. It's been long enough.
i feel for your situation, however do you really feel confident going through with WOM alone at this time? Are you aware that the new regs state they will no longer expedite namechecks due to pending lititgation? That means IF your case is accepted, then you will have to *go the distance* all the way through federal court. That's interesting, so, WOM doesnt even work anymore? Can you link to more info on that subject?
-
and that is related to AOS how ?
-
good luck, if im not mistaking, our cases are similar:] im waiting for your report about it.
-
SC TF, well keep us updated on that then
-
you should definitely fill when you have a permanent address...
-
well i do recall people still going to the interview and having name check not completed after new years.. but maybe their interview notices were issued before that, i don't know. either way, i really think it will go ok in my case, because my name is VERY unusual, and i doubt there is anyone with something similar in the database

for 28 March :] HOORAY!!!!11
that was FAST. i really hope they've completed the FBI check by now.
-
you're not in trouble. relax. :]

the list is on the USCIS website.

rebeccajo, didnt someone on the forums report that someone from USCIS told them that people stuck in namecheck are mostly from the middle east? maybe you just had some terrible, terrible luck.

sarahsmiles, just don't worry about it. im adjusting from F-1, so i have far more reasons to worry than you, yet i don't. you have to understand, that if you're actually married, living together, etc, they have NO WAY to screw this up for you, russian or not, older or not. my wife is also older than me, though only 2 years older. they can put off the process, make you wait, but they can't deny it, unless there's a real reason. so just wait and see what happens. most likely, nothing bad will.
for the love of god!*$%#@
