  1. Hi!

I checked my case on the USCIS website using my receipt number and the status is "Fingerprint Review Was Completed". My husband hasn't had his biometrics appointment yet and we didn't get a letter stating one was scheduled.

Since he had a biometrics appointment already this year (back in February), are they just using that instead and there's no need to go for another one?

We're leaving for vacation in a month so it would be very helpful if that was the case. Anyone else have that happen?

Don't resubmit until you receive your package back in your mailbox. If it does get rejected there will be a paper inside letting you know WHY it was rejected, you don't want to send another package with the same issue that will just get rejected too.

There's still a chance they will accept your application, so just wait.

They cashed my check yesterday and text notification was sent today so I'm assuming the NOA1 letter will be coming this week.

Thanks for telling me to wait! I was getting antsy.

In case anyone else is in a similar situation, this is my timeline:

    5/23: Submitted I-751 package

5/25: Package was received/delivered at Phoenix PO Box

    6/11: Check was cashed

    6/12: Text notification received

That's 11 business days (with 5/27 being a holiday) between my package being received and check being cashed, which seems longer than average, but I'm just happy it was accepted regardless how long it took.

  3. Hello!

I just want to thank all of you who posted about their experience so far submitting their I-751 packages - honestly has helped me relax so much. I was worried at first that I didn't have enough supporting materials (I have about 75 total pages in my package), but reading everybody's feedback between this post and April 2019 filers really helped calm me. I gathered some people turned in hundreds and hundreds of pages and others just a couple of pieces and for the most part everybody seems to be getting their NOAs and biometrics appointments. I can rest easy thanks to you all!

...until I have to send my package in the mail this week, but that's a headache for another day. 😓😂

Hope you all have a lovely evening wherever you are!

  4. Hi there,

First of all, congrats to all who have gotten a CC and interview! Good luck! :)

I wanted to give a quick update since I haven't in a while and think this would be helpful to some.

My husband had his interview last Monday (7/3) and said it went great for the most part. According to him, the CO was a very friendly, nice lady and not intimidating at all. He brought a lot of proof of relationship, all the necessary paperwork, she asked him a few questions about us and our families, what we do for work, etc. At the end of the interview, the CO told him the case had to go through "Administrative Processing" (AP), asked him to leave his passport and handed him a form called the 221(g) (I believe). It basically states that the visa could not be given "at this time" and that the case needed this additional processing of some sort. However, she never outright stated whether the visa was approved or denied so we really had no idea.

My husband did ask what that meant and how long that takes, but she said that she couldn't really share that information and he left the interview. Now we were in sort of a limbo, not really sure what was going on. So, of course, I turned to the internet.

From what I gathered, AP could mean a variety of things. If you're lucky, it just means your visa is being printed and the packet is being put together and sealed. This usually takes a few of business days and you get your visa pretty quickly. On the other hand, it could mean they're looking into the case more and you may or may not have to provide them more information. If you get this form from the CO, it will list specific instructions on what you need to do. In our case, we didn't have to provide any additional information. All we had to do now was wait (which was torture, of course.)

Also, everything I read stated that AP can take anywhere from a few weeks to months to even years depending on what you were put in it for.

However, we did just get word early this morning that the visa was issued and ready to be picked up. So, excluding the holiday (4th of July), it took about 4 business days for the visa to get issued. I'm still not sure if it was just part of the "regular" AP process or if they really did need to look at the case more, but there you have it.

To say I'm relieved is an understatement. I did want to share my experience to help anybody that might come across AP during their interview. The worst part of the whole thing was the not knowing what was going to happen. So if I can just ease one more stressed and worried mind out there that AP is sometimes a not-so-scary thing, then I've done my job.

    Again, good luck to all!

Hello everyone, with great relief I would like to announce today our case is complete !!!

    Checklist scan date: march 27th

    case complete: June 1 !!!

checked status on visa status, changed to "at nvc" called and confirmed ! Waiting for interview at Montreal embassy

thank you to everyone here, the journey has been very long and I learned so much from everyone here. Everyone is so supportive and helpful. I pray for everyone to be checklist free and cc quickly !

Congratulations. Hope you get a speedy interview date! :)

  6. Just updating you all. We got our interview email this morning - about 4 business days after our CC. :D

    Scan Date: 3/27/17

    CC Date: 5/26/17

    Interview Date: 7/3/17

We're going to contact our embassy to see if we can get an earlier interview date just because I've heard that our embassy does have the availability. But when the NVC schedules the interview, I think they typically look 4 weeks out automatically. So we'll see!

    Good luck everyone!!

And means CC date? If the date of interview? If so, since the case is complete when more or less is assigned?

CC date is when the case is completed and done with the review at the NVC. It isn't the interview date.

After the case is completed then you wait for the interview. I think the average wait time for an interview is about a month but that depends on your embassy.

    Hope that helped!

  8. Hi there,

Just wanted to say this forum pretty much saved me from a mental break down. I was getting so frustrated as I'm entering the 9th week (scan date was 3/27) and I was googling everything under the sun to see if anybody else was experiencing the same thing I was.

I know a family friend that went through the process a few years ago and she said everything was so quick and smooth so naturally I thought there was something wrong with my case since it's been so long.

So, so glad I found this forum and how detailed everything is. It gives me a little peace of mind to know we're all in the same boat.

I did just speak to someone at the NVC and my case is still pending review/currently being reviewed. The man I spoke to was really nice, but he couldn't tell me exactly if my case is currently being review or really close to being reviewed.

Regardless, he did say that it does take up to 11 weeks, blah..blah...blah. He did give me a little bit of hope, though, when he said that even though they say 11 weeks, it should be sooner than that.

Fingers crossed I'll get that email either this week or next.
