Showed up early at NY Office. Not many people around, with social distancing in practice in waiting area.
We informed the receptionist that we did not have a letter of appointment but that we had received a phone call about our interview. They looked up our case on their system and everything was good.and we were directed to another waiting room.
Five minutes later we were met by an officer to escort us to his office for our interview. Did not ask for copies or originals of documents. He asked a few general questions about criminal record, communist party membership etc. Nothing major. He did a scan of applicant's index fingers and made us stand for the oath. Mainly he just chatted and joked while he went through the paperwork. After 2 hours 15 mins, he showed us the approval on the screen and the order for the green card to be issued.
What a strange experience!

The officer who called said a letter was sent to me confirming the interview but it has not arrived and the interview is tomorrow! The case status has not been updated online. We are showing up anyway!

That's wonderful news! When was your cancelled AOS interview?
With our bad luck, it was scheduled for a week after NYC went into lockdown. If it had been a week earlier in March, we would have been done!

Finally received a call this morning from NY office informing us that cancelled AOS interview will take place next week.

Had an interview for AOS scheduled for March 25 which was cancelled because of the lockdown.
The NY office has reopened but the interview has not been rescheduled.

Hello i hope you can help what happened next? I did the same. I havent got any message or mail yet its been 4 days. Is it the right address?
Did they receive your filing with the 4187?

This has been a concern of mine as well because the way the conditions for issuance of an AP are stated, it did not give the impression that if you had a pending AOS that they did not apply to you. This is good to know.
BTW, has anyone with a pending AOS actually had an AP approved recently with just "visit family" as an explanation? Just curious.
Thanks.

Yes, legally in US. I will get on it right away!
Glad I asked the question!

Oh, it is AOS. OMG, can I really file already?

My priority date is 5/15/2017 which is the same as the Final Action Date for F2A in the upcoming May Visa Bulletin.
Does this mean I still have to wait, since the visa bulletin states "Numbers are authorized for issuance only for applicants whose priority date is earlier than the final action date"?

Yes, I was just worried that my application would negatively affect the pending process.
Thanks everyone for taking the time to respond so quickly. It is so good to have such a great online community!
Happy Holidays, everyone!

Yes, her priority date is current now and she has a valid work visa. But, waiting for NOA2.
The NOA2 for her I-130, that is.

I am eligible to become a naturalized citizen and I am unsure if it will impede or expedite my petition for my spouse to get her Green Card. My question is should I proceed with naturalization or hold off until she gets her Green Card?
1. If I become a naturalized citizen while my spouse's I-130 is pending (i.e. awaiting NOA2), what happens to the I-130 I submitted?
— Will I have to resubmit an I-130 for my spouse or do I merely inform USCIS of my change in status and the whole process will be expedited?
2. If I become a naturalized citizen while my spouse's I-485 is being processed, what happens to her I-485 application?
— Will she have to resubmit her I-485?
Sorry, if this question has been asked before.

Quick follow up question.
After filing AOS, if my wife's visa expires, can she stay in the country while the AOS is being processed? And she can travel if she is issued a travel parole?

I filed an I-130 for my wife who is already in the US on a G-1 visa (and has been for the last 23 years). She can stay in the job as long as she chooses.
I know this is an unusual situation and I am curious to know if anyone has had experience with or knows what happens after NOA2 for the F2A application?
Does she just submit an AOS application? If so, how long would this take?
Thanks in advance for any advice or feedback

I submitted for my wife in middle of May and still waiting for NOA2 – no RFE though
