  1. BTW: you want to go to the CONSULATE and fill out the I-129F not the counsler nor the 1-29f. You'd never get your honey here HEHEHEHEHEE :D

So, are you straight now? got your petition filed? Keep us update ok!

im glad you knew what i meant thats great thanks noa 2 sept 13 ill keep you updated you just try figure out what what im reallly sayn and let me know

  2. "as we were riding people would point and we was directed to a travel place"

    What people?

Probably people on the street as they saw that he was an American.

yes exacty i dont know how they knew but my girl was driving the moto bike and i was on back and every opne would point us where to go like they had been expecting us

This I-129F will be completed by the USC (American). Therefore, absolutely no need for getting helps from some vietnamese person at some "service" / coffeeshop!

If you are an american with a reasonable education (HS or GED), with helps from this forum reading the Guides/FAQ's, I believe you will be able to fill out the form and getting things ready to apply/petition for your fiancee's visa.

I really hope and strongly disagree with anyone who encourage our brother/sister to use the service/coffee-shop people in Saigon, near and around the consulate for help in anyway. Period! Anyone disagrees with me, please read up on Mike's story... where the so-called service took out his vital documents (divorce paper) from the "interview package", thinking "Oh, his fiance doesn't need this paper for her interview". Result: Mike's case is in BLUE-Slip Hell right now.

Green/Tran: read up on the Guides and FAQ's. Come back with lot of questions and I am sure people here will be more than happy to assist to their best and share their experience with you.

Good luck, and stay away from those "people who point"

    chuck and kim

thanks chuck,at the time i didnt know about this site and we went anyways i was curiuos to see if any one else did

  3. Ok Thanks !!

I did notice this today on uscis.gov:

NOTE: Due to an unusually large volume of receipts at the Service Centers, it is taking longer than expected to enter cases into the system. Depending on the type of case and service requested, it may take approximately 14 days to generate and mail receipt notices. Once the receipt notice has been generated, it may take an additional 2 to 3 days for customers to receive their receipt notices in the mail. Per existing policies and procedures, requests for Premium Processing Service will continue to be processed within 15 days. USCIS wishes to assure all customers that the original received date will be honored and recorded on the receipt notice. This date will appear in the "Received Date" box on Form I-797, Notice of Action. The received date is different from the "Notice Date", which also appears on Form I-797. The Notice Date is the date the receipt notice was actually generated. USCIS has taken appropriate measures to address this situation.

just ask why look it up,if no wants to answer they dont have too ,then search it
  4. any advice will greatly appreciate thanks.

I think that this quote from the OP validates Jens point.....Moving on!

The only way i can see this as a problem is if your fiance'e can't present the 4 final divorce decree's, If yes! Then i can't see this being any significant problem!

    Good Luck

    Thank you.

I wasn't judging... just advising caution. Anyone who doesn't see this as a potential red flag is in denial. But if the OP has worked it all out, more power to her! I hope they are truly happy.

    Jen

some times bad things happen to good people.maybe he got married to some difficult woman.

  5. hello ,when i was in vietnam i thought i could go to the counslers office and get the 1-29f but as we were riding people would point and we was directed to a travel place a few blocks away from us couslers office where they help with forms and visa information it cost 200 us dollars and they also help with interview questions and make sure everything is in order.did anyone else go to this service ???if so what do you think about it .it gives my girl alot comfort to call them and tell them whats happening

  6. Here are my questions:

    1) Is is possible to have success in obtaining a K1 visa if I submitt the paperwork? Is a lawyer necessary? Is the $1500- 2000 dollars for a lawyer worth it?

    2) Any success stories without a lawyer?

    3) Why not use a lawyer in the Philippines to help my wife-to-be?

    Ray

I DIDNT USE A LAWYER BECAUSE I CANT AFFORD ONE TO BE HONEST,BUT I HAVE A CRIMMINAL RECORD AND I JUST FILED EVERYTHING AND FILLED ALL THE BLANKS AND WAS STILL APPROVED NOA2 ON SEPT 13 SO I THINK I LAWYER JUST CHECKS THE BLANKS AND TAKES UR MONEY IN MY OPINION

  7. Qiuxiang (my very beautiful fiancee) has recently received packet #4. I need help with question #19 on the form "List Names, Dates and places of Birth, and Addresses of ALL Children".

Do we input her daughter's information there (she will be accompanying my fiancee) or do they want my fiancee's entire family there (brothers, sisters), what are they wanting?

    Thanks,

    Keith & Xiang

Well, it says ALL Children. I think it's pretty self-explanatory.

devilette never answers peoples questions ,she only makes smart remarks thats why this website is here .so she can act like a smart ###

My question is does this pertain to the children of my fiancee's parents or to the children of my fiancee (the ones that will be coming with her to the United States)? You have to admit that some questions on these forms can be read one way or another. If it was pretty self-explanatory I would not have asked the question as the question doesn't state whether they require the siblings or the children of the fiancee's information there.

Mind you, this is a government form, and being such some questions are not always that simple to answer. Also, as this is the last part of a long journey I don't want to put something there that should not be there, likewise I need to be correct if I am to put something there.

    Thanks,

    Keith & Xiang

  8. Have anyone in this VJ from HCMC that had the medical exam NOT completed before the interview? Will they interview you without the medical exam result? What will happen after the interview if you pass it but the medical exam not yet completed?

My fiancee has to go through the asputum test (phlegm coughed up from the lung). It has been more than a week and she cannot get it out? Anyone have any tricks on how to get the phlegm (da`m) of the lung. She went to the hospital 2 times but fail to get it out. She has to come back next week.

    Thanks in advance.

    Nhatrang.

maybe she can smoke a ciggerette ,

    it workd for me

  9. Today I got home from work and had 5 e-mails from USCIS all with this same message:

*** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***

The following is the latest information on your case status

    Receipt Number: WAC**********

    Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Current Status:

On September 16, 2006, we mailed a notice requesting additional

evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what

additional material is needed. If you have questions about the notice,

what is required, or if 30 days have passed and you have not received the

notice. Please contact the service center where you submitted your

    application during business hours.

I assume this is probably for IMBRA, since they never sent me one. But I'm confused if this is for 5 different requests for different evidence, or if this is perhaps an e-mail program going for overkill

Has anybody else had this happen??

YES!!!!! I HAD THIS HAPPEN 3 WEEKS BEFORE THE NOA2 YOUR ON UR WAY!!!!!

  10. can anyone pls tell me the address of NEBRASKA SERVICE CENTRE where we will send our I-129F form ? is this the correct address -

    P.O. Box 87130

    Lincoln, NE 68501-7130

send it all at the same time everything you got pictures evrything

  11. Just emailed to Jim Witt, Senior VP, Executive Editor: jwitt@star-telegram.com

    "Dear Mr. Witt,

I am writing to voice my disgust with the headline on the article at this link: http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/news/nation/14814686.htm

"Mail-order brides on hold waiting for new forms"

As a USA petitioner of a woman from another country, I can assure you the term "Mail Order Bride" is as derogatory and insulting as any racial epithet. Your headline adds insult to the injury already inflicted by USCIS and DHS inability to manage and execute the fiance visa process. Petitioners are put through a convoluted, emotionally wrenching process lasting 9 months-2 years.

Couples applying for fiancee visas expend thousands of dollars in application fees, travel expenses, and penalties for canceled plans as the visa application grinds its way through a broken system.

Did you know a good percentage of petitioners are women? Yes, their bride in another country is a man. Your headline further insults them!

For your publication to classify our "brides" as "Mail-Order" plays into old stereotypes perpetuated by people who have no idea what the truth is. A "Mail Order Bride" does not exist. Your editorial department owes visa applicants an apology for your insensitive headline."

While I am not nearly as well spoken as some of you, I think I made my point. I urge all of you to respond to Mr. Witt and explain the damage being done.

    I SAY WELL SAID, WONDERFUL

  12. Might want to check out that caps lock key. Seems to be sticking.

There's a whole forum on IMBRA-related information here that might help answer some of your questions. It's also spelled out in the opening pages of the instructions for the I-129F.

I think the OP has issues besides caps lock. Not being able to read instructions or knowing what a name check is as well.

maybe you didnt have any question, but i was wonder when you see someone fall down do you help them up or point and laugh coz it seem i kind of have a idea about the kind of person you are to

here in my state a background is what it is called and since i sent them a cerified kbi back ground i thought a name cfheck was sorry smartiei guess yiou just knew from birth please dont respond to any of my post please devil whatever

  14. In the recent thread on IMBRA,

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=31286

there is a definition of a marriage broker:

    (4) INTERNATIONAL MARRIAGE BROKER

    .—

    (A) IN GENERAL .—The term ‘‘international marriage broker’’ means a corporation, partnership, business, individual, or other legal entity, whether or not organized under any law of the United States, that charges fees for providing dating, matrimonial, matchmaking services, or social referrals between United States citizens or nationals or aliens lawfully admitted to the United States as permanent residents and foreign national clients by providing personal contact information or otherwise facilitating communication between individuals.

    ( EXCEPTIONS

    .—Such term does not include—

    (i) a traditional matchmaking organization of a cultural or religious nature that operates on a nonprofit

basis and otherwise operates in compliance with the laws of the countries in which it operates, including

the laws of the United States; or

(ii) an entity that provides dating services if its principal business is not to provide international dating

services between United States citizens or United States residents and foreign nationals and it charges

comparable rates and offers comparable services to all individuals it serves regardless of the individual’s

    gender or country of citizenship.

    ---

By this definition, it seems to me that anyone who met on a personals website, including in a chat room, used an International Marriage Broker.

    I would welcome other opinions.

    Tom

I WOULD THINK A CHAT ROOM ISNT A MARRAIGE BROKER IF THATS THE CASE IF YOU GO TO A MALL AND MEET A GIRL THERE IS THAT MALL A MARRIAGE BROKER.I MET MY GIRL ON YAHOO VIETNAM CHAT UNDER THE LAUGAGE CATAGORY ,AS MANY PEOPLE THERE THEY ARE JUST LLOOKING FOR PASS THE TIME AND WE WAS ONLY FRIEND WITH NO INTENTIONS FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHES I TALKED TO MEN AND WOMAN ALIKE WITH NO INTENT .SO I SAY IF I DIDNT SIGN UP AND PAY TO MEET SOME ONE TO MARRY ITS NOT A MARRAGE BROKER

  15. My fiance has a criminal record that is about ten years old, invloving two incidents, a fight he got into on a football pitch where he hit a boy. He recieved only a warning with a £100 fine, and also acting up at a professional football game, which lead to charges disturbing the peace and resisting arrest, again no penaltys except small fines, but we are now filling out packet three and I was just wondering if anyone else has any experience similar to this?

YES IM WORRIED THE SAME AS YOU,I GOT A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN 1991,AND BEFORE I WENT TO VIETNAM I WAS IN A FIGHT WITH MY DAD,OR SO HE THOUGHT AND THE CHARGES WAS DROPPED BUT IN STILL SHOWED UP ON MY BACK GROUND CHECKTHE 91 IS A CONVICTION THE OTHER SHOULDNT MATTER AS ITS ONLY WANTING TO KNOW ABOUT CRIMMINAL CONVICTIONS I HAD 200 DOLLAR FINE AND DROPPED BUT IT WAS STILL CONVICTION I THINK MORE THAN LIKELY YOU HAVE NOTHING TPO WORRY ABOUT BUT I DO

    GOOD LUCK

  16. If you answered the IMBRA questions and you already sent in the information, there's no reason for concern. If it was necessary, you already sent it. If it wasn't, it won't hurt you.

Name checks are extra security checks that sometimes happen randomly. There's no proof you'll go through this - try not to worry since it is out of your hands.

    BUT WHAT NAMES?

  17. lets hope that you dont have to wait for long. offcourse they do require the all inf they need to know. from personal life to a social life. bcz they are bringing in a new person to the US soil so they have to be careful about everything. even if you are arrested, sentenced and then get free from prison. you lead your life in a good way after that then no law would stop you to lead your life in a peaceful way. just be posative and explain your fiance what happened. bcz consular off might ask about your perrsoanlity so she should be prepared to answer everything.

I GOT A 200 DOLLAR FINE BUT IT WAS 14 YEARS AGO BUT WHAT ARE NAME CHECKS??????? WHAT NAMES????

  18. anyone denied coz of the imbra form?, i have domistic violence from 1991 will this kill me?

Am I the only one who sees the irony of this headline?:angry:

SO WHATS UR POINT???IF YOU HAD A 3 YEAR OLD AND A NEW BORN AND CAME HOME AND FOUND OUT UR WIFE WAS LEFT YOUR KIDS AT A ESCORT SERVICE AND WAS CALL GIRL AND SATED HITTING ON THE HEAD WHAT WOULD YOU DO.SOME TIMES BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE

Frank, I think you misunderstood. There was something kind of ironic in the way the sentence sounded i.e. domestic violence = kill me. That's all Devilette meant . . .

In any event, everyone filing the I-129F is required to answer the IMBRA questions. You didn't shoot yourself in the foot if you simply provided the required information.

As Andy stated, "convictions are not grounds for denial unless you are a multi petitioner. So if this is your first time than you are ok. I would suggest telling your fiancee that there could be an extended wait time for your case due to name checks. This way anything sooner is a blessing".

    Good luck.

OK FUNNNY,WHAT EXACTLY ARE THE NAME CHECKS AND WHAT DO THEY DO?

luvalimey speaks the truth as near as I understand it. The biggest issue for you will be that you have been honest and up front with your fiance. If that is the case, then one ancient instance of DV should not necessarily be an approval killer.

    Good luck on your journey!

ok i just found a web site i think called latin seekers? did i shoot myself in foot

it has stated that it is not a marrage broker and there fore no crimminal back ground check need be submitted in the i-29f is this true i i didnt meet my girl in any mail order bride thing we met online and we have shared all things about our past she is aware of everything did i need to send it if we didnt meet through a broker?????does anyone know for sure?and if so will the information i sent be disregarded????

You have to check the legal definition and see if the website through which you've met meets such definition. If it does, then you've met through a marriage broker.
