    Update from me:

I just received notification from USCIS on my I-765 saying "On August 22 2018, we ordered your new card, and will mail it to the address you gave us". My case status for I-765 is now "New Card is Being Produced". They said it could take up to 30 days for me to receive it, is this realistic? For those that have received their combo card, how long did it take for you guys to receive yours?

On the Advanced Parole form (I-131) however, the status is still "We received your case" and hasn't been changed since the receipt date. Will my card be a combo card including both I-765 and 131?

It took mine about a week. Which is what most people are reporting too. 7-10 days, depends if you hit the weekend waiting or not also. For the combo card, I do not know how that works. I only applied for EAD, which I definitely regret not doing AP at the same time.

    Hey All,

I just wanted to see who is all waiting to hear about their EAD & AP with NOA date of March 2,2018. I would love to see where everyone is at as a few people I know with NOA dates after me have already been getting notifications/their cards. Trying to stay positive but its getting to me :)

My fiances got updated to “New Card is being Produced” on friday for EAD. Also got updated for GC to “Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview” on 7-17

    Date Filed: 3-01

    NOA Date: 3-13

    Biometrics: 4-10

    EAD Approval: 7-27

Hi, my I-129 for k 1 visa got approved, now I have to submit I-134.   Since I just start working a year ago, my sister  is going to sponsor my fiancé she is going to submit an I-134 on my behalf.  Do I need also to submit an I-134 or not?

Yes you submit an i-134. You are the sponsor, and your sister will be a cosponsor

Hey to all VJers....Happy New Year and wishing all is well with everyone or at least all will turn out well.

I called NVC and they gave me the HCM case # and Invoice ID #.  When I 1st went on to check it at https://ceac.state.gov/ to check on the status, it gave me steps to do as far as choose an agent....and so on.  Now when i recheck it again, it saids "Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center. "

    I have a few questions:

    1.  Do you guys think I could start the DS-160 now by knowing the the case # and the ID #?  Or I need to wait until my fiance get the notice from the consular office until she can do it?

    2.  Can she get the Original Justice Record Check # 2 now?  I believe when i researched it, this report is valid for 1 year so i'm assuming we can get it now?

Besides gathering the documents, what else do you think i should do?  Please help

Go ahead and fill out your ds-160 and submit it. Yes you can go get your justice record #2. Once it is at ready instead of in transit then go on the site below, fill out the form and say your case is ready and you will like to have the packet 3 letter emailed to you. You can print that out. You then go to ustraveldocs and register an account. Once you input your ds-160 and hcm#, then you can print out a payment slip. Go to the VN post to pay it. After a day you can go back on ustraveldocs and schedule your appointment. Only after you have an appointment, then you can schedule your medical and immunizations in vn.

Soo the embassy the can call me back ??for sure to get my visa ?? Have been AP for long ...when check AP days to there is 60 days ...and pass 60 days

AP takes as long as it takes unfortunately. Noone can tell you how long you will be in it

  6. If it does get close to when your medical expires, you can most likely ask them can you do another medical since you were in AP (since that is on them you were waiting so long) they might even tell you themselves that you will need a new medical before your visa will be issued (if it gets that close).

Is bank statement required for the I-134? or it can just be optional?

People usually only show bank statement if they are trying to show assets. Unless they recently just started working at a job, and they dont have enough evidence to prove that. Then bank statements are another way to show that income is coming in. So if you have paystubs, w-2, and tax transcripts, you should be good. If you are self employed, then some embassy requires your most recent tax transcripts, some require your last 3 years.

Thanks, K&N2609 for your suggestion.  It's nice to see some members who take the time to read, understand and try to offer assistance rather than folks who rack up post count with useless, flippant replies.  I did pull down Acrobat free Reader and it confirmed that those fields are simply locked by the original author of the form, for whatever reason.

Hence, the reason for posting (and yes, for those Captain Obvious parrots out there, I did search prior) was to see if someone similar to myself with IT savvy had taken the time/effort to go back and re-engineer a version of the form where those fields were unlocked as desired.

Not having received any replies to that nature, I'll look into doing it myself once I rustle up a full copy of Acrobat.  If and when I finish it, I'll be sure to share it with folks in the future!

    Until then...

I tried doing the i-129 again. And the only time i ran into those problems was when the next field was not applicable (e.g. Have you been previously married, if you answered no then the field asking for previous spouse would not be fillable) i am guessing they did they because you do not need to answer that field since it does not apply to you (only a guess). But if in doubt, just hand write it in. I know its not the prettiest thing to do it that way, but atleast you will be more assured you put N/A or none in those fields. Good luck :D

hey guys . what's this imbra pamphlet..i haven't received it ..how to get that or only embassy will send to us to download.

Thats the pamphlet that they gave my fiance while we were waiting for our number to be called up. They told her to read it, and when we got called up they asked her of she read it and understands it. It just explains the rights she once she gets to the states, incase of abuse or unfairness. You might get it at different times depending on you embassy

Has anyone else noticed that many fields on the latest official I-129f cannot be filled in from your PC.  I.e.  you can't put your cursor in the box and type in the information?

There are quite a few all over the form.  I'd prefer to fill out the entire form properly and typed from the PC.

Has anyone generated a "fixed" version in pdf that can be filled in completely?

Try downloading it to you computer first. Then open it with Adobe Acrobat Reader. Hope that solves your problem

    https://mx.usembassy.gov/visas/instructions-for-immigrant-visa-applicants/

    • Birth Certificate:  An original birth certificate for each applicant and for the petitioner.  A birth certificate must be presented for each child under age 21, even if that person is not applying for a visa with you at this time.  The date/place of birth and the name of the parents must be shown on the birth certificate.

That link is prob still for a spousal visa. K1 is different. Non immigrant visa( with intent to migrate later on), not immigrant visa. Just seeing that it needs a ds-260 and i864, already says its not a k1 instructions. But like you said OP has the answers he/she was looking for now

I'm getting ready to send in my petition for K1 visa and I have a few clarifying questions.....

    1) I do not have a passport book (I'm getting one) can i use my passport card?

    2) my fiancé lives in sweden,  I'm planning on going over there to go to his interview with him when the time comes,  should I say that when writing about our on going relationship?

    3) is it better to open a checking account with both our names before obtaining a k1?

4)we also have a plan to start a business and other plans with our hobbies,  is it good to talk about our plans?

5)we both breed dogs,  would it look good to have a registered kennel under both our names?

I know some of these are probably stupid questions but I've read so many stories I'm just worried :)

    Thanks!

It depends on why you are sending in your passport (book or card). Is it to prove citizenship or to prove you guys have met in person?

     - If for the citizenship then you can send in your birth certificate( if born in US) or certificate of naturalization or citizenship( if citizenship was obtain other then by birth here)

    - if its for proof of meeting in person then you can get copies from your fiances passport and entry/exit stamps.

i would send in both of those i listed to prove both citizenship and proof of meeting in person

Yeah just thought, given how many hours I work, it would be easier to have someone else complete it without mistakes. But you’re right. I can definitely do it myself...just wondered what the options were.

That is something i would not assume. People hire lawyers here, and the lawyers still made mistakes. They can also delay the process sometimes (e.g. When you get an approval notice or rfe. The lawyer might have it for a while before even informing you).  Sometimes if you wanna get things done right, then do it yourself haha

By the way,  I'm just guessing but more likely on her passport it's thi Ngoc, as her given name,  so that's how you should buy the ticket.

Yeah thats what i figured how i should put it as. Thanks for the input. 3 people have told me that so far,  thats what im gonna go with and hope It works out

  16. You can provide your tax transcripts and add the assets on top of it. You only have to make up for how much you are under the proverty line. E.g. If you have to make 17k for the year but you only made 12k. Then you are under by 5k, which would be 5000x5=25000 in assets. I know you said you might not profit this year. But in case you do make a profit. Hope that helps

The fee for the K1 visa is 535. I went to get the money order and was given a 500 dollar one and a 35 dollar one. She said they don't do money orders more than 500$.

Would this be a problem if I mail in two money orders totalling 535, the correct fee?

    Thanks

      Levi

Thats what we had to do. You should be fine as long as its the right amount all together
