  1. Hey everyone, it seems like in order to get a packet 3 that you need to pay for the ds160 and schedule an interview. Is this true? I feel like I am asking the same question over and over lol this is what my status is on line. I want my fiance to pay the fee and submit the ds160. He wants to wait. Please help me!! I don't want to wait if I don't have to. People he know have waited weeks for an email even though the status says READY you can set your interview time.

To be safe, and also save you some time later, go ahead and fill in the DS-160, just don't click the "Sign and submit" button until things are ok with the Embassy. It won't complicate anything if you don't submit it.

As it says on the FAQ section for the form:

"You have 30 days to return to a partially completed application. To access your application after 30 days, you must save it to your computer hard drive or a disk".

Thank you for answering my question. We can do just that.

  3. So, has everyone did the online ds 160 form? Because my fiance knows these people who are in Nigeria that said not to fill out the online form until contacted.  If you do then it will complicate things. But I feel like this is going to take longer because the only reason I have the IID # and case number is because I called. I explained everything about how if you don't do the form then you haven't applied for the Visa. But I know how lazily active they can be. I am confused and don't want to spend my $$ calling the embassy myself to find out long wait etc. I want this process to be as short as possible seeing that we have waited about 6 months already. What should I do??

Well thats where it gets even more bizarre!... i got a letter from nvc but she never has...i recieved the emails from the consulate that can be used in place of the nvc letter.. i had to forward them both to her so she could print them for her requirements for her physical.  She still has not recieved them which made us nervouse about her getting the support documents photos phone records etc etc...but it got there in 3 days time fedx...and yes thats ohio to Cebu Philippines ..

Its also wierd the two week nvc thing...takes two weeks average ours was about two weeks i called they recieved said call in two weeks..i called next day..got our number...5 days later it showed rec'd manila...but yet there was another couple on the forums that they still didnt showed recieved after 4 weeks...yea average is...based on whos desk you get and if they are a go getter or a get it later..sorry just a opinion...the only law of average has been with the process is...law of bingo eventually they pull your number out of the tumbler.... oh but on a positive note most everyone here has been absolutely marvelous support...and everyone understands everyone elses aggravation, excitement,  and stress and feelings of completion at every step. I just wish we could all meet for starbucks or pizza and all laugh about it when its all finished...

This is exactly what I said a trip to the Poconos. Seems fun or where ever. We should meet! Be each other's support/cheerleader/possible friends. We all know what each other is going through and what it's like to find love half way across the world.

  5. Funny thing and I know that Cali is two hours behind me. but I received my text and email from them received at like 1030p... which is fine with me. but I cant wait until I get that text and email about my approval. then we can really do a dance.  celebration dance congrats to all the approvals and RFEs  yes I said congrats to the RFEs because it wasnt a denial.  I want to do a trip once all of the March whiners get their approval. we should go to the Poconos PA

You're in a very good place. I dumped the database for March and the median number of days between RFE sent and NOA2 issued for every case was just 7 days, and the longest was 12.

Now that doesn't include cases where no NOA2 has been issued yet, but it's still a better place to be than no RFE or NOA2.

Yay!! You almost had me jumping up and down but I have to preserve my feet! Well at least I am inside!! Thanks so excited... Come on CSC come thru!

Personally I'd stay away from doing that too at this point. I don't know by how much that'd speed up your case, as you might be just a few days away from getting a notice anyway (hopefully!) I doubt they'd give you y helpful information and it'd probably be just another prepared and official statement. I doubt they approve cases after ours on purpose, it seems that they just don't have a system that'd keep it 100% fair and are just handling it how they can. I feel like it's just a human factor. Some officers have been there for years and go faster than others who might be more new.

However, I do agree that such agencies need to receive feedback to know what needs to be fixed or put more effort into in order to improve and speed things up. So there's no definite answer to that...

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my post. I am excited to say that I got a RFE which is like everyone says feels a lot better than getting what you don't want. I actually didnt receive it physically I received an email and a text about my case. So I cant wait to see what they need.

  8. Ladies & Gents,

I am slightly torn here but after see people who have their NOA2 ad their day was after mine I called finally speaking to some one who wasn't a robot. She told me if I have proof of people with dates after mine getting their Approvals. I can send it in to a supervisor at the California service center. I was super excited and then it dawned on me. What if I send this in and the person who is reviewing my case gets in trouble and still handles my case. And they get spiteful. They have the power to approval for my case. I really want to write but slightly nervous. Just curious. what would you? Also I found a person who has a Nigerian case whose date is over 10 days after mine who got their approval letter last month same service center. Damn ...

Hello, My case was routed California service center.  I'm a Nigerian but currently residing in Senegal.  My  file was sent on  4th of March, my Case was received on 7th of March.  I received  my NOA1 11th March. I'm still waiting for my NOA2. Just hang, I believe  we will hear good news soon .

Yes I am working on the staying calm part. Patience has not always been my best suit. Sometimes I have some times not. Wish they would give me a real answer tell me that the center is on cases from January is officially making me crazy.... There are many people on here with dates near and after ours from our same service center. Let me know when you get your approval. It's coming... An Approval

  10. Greetings are there any NOA2/ approvals from the California service center?? Or Nigerian Approvals. I have called twice just emailed the California service center and even when I ask to talk to tier 2 they give me the same information as the internet. I am just curious why do they say the cases are worked on in order ... Lies I tell you lies ... Any suggestions for my next step??
