KaurN reacted to Springrain22 in How much longer!?
NVC after receiving documents = 2.5 to 3 months.
Then to receive an interview = 1-2 months.
So plan 4-5 months after they received your documents that you're going to submit next week.
Why so long? Because there are a lot of people ahead of you. You have to be patient and wait.

KaurN got a reaction from JBMG in Case Complete to Interview September 2017
Went to the Social Security Administration office yesterday almost 3 weeks after POE. They said that a social security number for my husband was never applied. Rechecked the DS-260 form on CEAC and yes I did check the box where it asks if we want to apply. Some people are telling me that this could've happened because our case was expedited and sent directly to the consulate hence NVC never got to complete the case and apply for a SSN.
Anyhow we applied for it at the Social security office and we are hoping to get it in two weeks now.

@goobies Yes go ahead and schedule your interview. Print out the interview confirmation page and that should suffice for you to go to the interview and to get your medical done. You don't have to wait for your P4 letter. Make sure you bring originals of all your civil documents and copies of financial documents to the interview. I am sorry you are going through this.

It can take anywhere from a month to three months to get an interview depending on busy the embassy is. Check out the spreadsheet created by @JBMG and you can get an idea of how longs its taken to schedule interviews at the Ukraine Embassy in the past.

My husband still hasn't received his Social security card. His POE was on 07/25. Should we go to the social security office and apply?

Guess I'll join up to this thread now. After much back and forth between the NVC, a Senator, a lawyer, and the US Consulate in New Zealand, I've been expedited. Now awaiting the interview letter.

Yep this means that your case is complete and you will be in line to be scheduled for an interview. You might need a joint sponsor to be able to meet the poverty guidelines but you don't have to send the AOS to NVC now you just have to take it along to the interview.

Not a problem. I emailed my embassy about that. It's because on the passport, the first and last name are not separated. My passport only has full name, no first name or last name. They'll update the visa according to the info updated on DS260.

Yep, on top, your cover sheet with barcode. Yes, leave others blank. A short letter explaining why sending in the new document. (If you received a checklist for missing docs, you would include that as well). Write your case number on the upper right hand corner of each document (page) you send in. :-)
Regarding, aos, if NVC doesn't require you to bring an updated version to your interview, then you should be ok. people bring it as back up. Heck, my advice is to bring an updated version as a copy of the original is pointless as they should have it already. I suggest back up joint sponsors for those using assets to qualify or if their sponsor's income is just meeting the requirements. You'll receive a list of documents that you will need to bring. :-)
Good luck.
