  1. Hello all!  I have a question if anyone in this filter finishes the NVC stage and has gone to embassy in their country yet?

NVC has received my affidavit of support (I-864) packet on Jan 5th 2018. Should I call them sometimes a week or two after to verify they receive it ? or will they email me or give me a physical mail or do i need to check online? and also once they receive it do I have to wait 30 days from the day they received it for a response before sending to embassy in my wife's home country? basically want to know how to keep checking regarding the AOS packet I sent. Thank you all in advance and good luck!!

Yes, I misunderstood exactly where you were at.  Im sorry that you are taking much longer than I had heard from others here.  I wish you the best.  I hope you see the NOA2 this week so you can get this done as quickly as possible.

actually im fine, im use to waiting so long that i cannot do anything anymore than my frustration just turns to an everyday life now so whatever happens then it happens even im doing everything i can getting service request contact senator ombudsman etc...no response so oh well...

Good luck to yours too and thanks!

Im doing to try to go to their infopass soon but i cant seem to get appointment so il walk in.

Doesn't hurt to try whatever works if your case would be pending like mines (11 months and still waiting) almost a year on USCIS Only

The CR-1s were always quoted as 12 to 14 months.  The K-1s started at 3 months when I filed in June and are now past 5 and close to 6 months just for the NOA2.  It is interesting to see if the CR visas are impacted like the K1.

CR-1s are trending quicker while K-1s are trending longer.  I hope you hear something soon!!!

Im not sure about always, but i know some people who got approved in 1 month, then 4 months and others longest is 7 months or less on CR-1 just for the I-130 ONLY. Not even the NVC yet. It might be impacted right now as too many people applied by Nov-Dev 2016.

Thanks for the info! and best of luck on your K1! I usually think K1 were very fast

    You’re so close!

Scrapping the K1 petition and starting over will stress you out more.  The CR1 will take about 14 months from start to finish.

I’m sure you’ll hear something anyday now.

I have a CR-1 spousal petition that I am now waiting about 11 months and still not even an RFE (let alone my NOA2 this is taking forever), its like we need them but they don't need us so they take their time and I am more frustrated then ever!

USCIS is Miss Trunchbull and we're Bruce Bogtrotter, trying to finish that damn big a$$ cake.

    Yes, total Matilda reference.

I say if you reached 7-8 months waiting you should send e-mails, e-requests, call. Maybe they think they don't have to address the significant backlog because they just assume we have to take it, and I mean we kind of do, but we will at least be somewhat loud about it. Hear me desperately sigh and groan, Nebraska!

I love your analogy, ofc referencing Matilda and her father is the same way HAHA!

Anyways im trying everything I can. all they can say is wait 30-45 days and i think they are maximizing the wait time so we have to keep calling. I just dont even know what to do next. contacted ombudsman and senator but not yet responded..i might just phone them too. but then again what are they doing to the backlogs now.

Try scheduling an appointment with USCIS local office they would give you more info on your case IN PERSON.

There is no available appointment in the LA area that I checked in next 14 days. I think i checked last month also. are these locations exists or is there any walkins? Thanks!

I got the information off of the USCIS website and looked up their email addresses by doing a google search. I sent an email today but have not heard anything back. I also sent hard copies of my letters via Xpresspost.

I got the idea after searching through previous threads that described Nebraska having a similar issue in 2013. In the previous case the emails appeared to have gotten something going. I don't think anybody heard from these people directly. All we can hope is if enough people send messages they will hear our collective voice and do something about this office.

If you are fortunate to have a Senator or Congressperson who has good constituency assistants they have contacts within USCIS. But it's a hit or miss whether the politician you contact is of any help. Have you considered contacting other political representatives?

This is pretty useful im going to try it out Thank you!. I have now contacted ombudsman and senator already, and im not sure who else to contact for help. Its been a nightmare waiting for all this i dont even know what they are doing to the cases on backlog.

These were the two contacts at USCIS you can contact:
    1) Donald Neufeld - Associate Director, Service Center Operations Directorate
    Email: Donald.W.Neufeld@uscis.dhs.gov
    2) James McCament - Deputy Associate Director, Service Center Operations

    Email: james.w.mccament@uscis.dhs.gov

    UCSIS Headquarters
    111 Massachusetts Ave
    Washington, DC 20529-2140

    Donald Neufeld bio

Donald Neufeld is the associate director for Service Center Operations. In his current role, Neufeld oversees all activities at the five USCIS service centers located in Dallas, Texas (Texas Service Center); Laguna Nigel, California (California Service Center); Lincoln, Nebraska (Nebraska Service Center); Burlington, Vermont  (Vermont Service Center); and Arlington, Virginia (Potomac Service Center).

    James McCament bio

James McCament began serving as the permanent deputy director of USCIS on March 31. Until the nomination and Senate confirmation of our next USCIS director, McCament will also serve as acting director of USCIS.  Since August 2015, McCament has served in the capacity of deputy associate director, Service Center Operations, overseeing the work of the five USCIS service centers in their processing of more than four million applications annually.

Wow thanks for this info this might help me out if I contact them. Which one in your opinion is the best or i can send to both?

Also this wont affect my case in any way right? like at least if i get a response might be lucky? and what do i say to them as a brief email to start with? Thanks for the info and i really appreciate it!

Some of us have emailed a Mr Neufeld at USCIS. Check the all Nebraska forum for his email address in a post from yesterday. The more people reporting this to him might help along the cases. I am at 9 months today. I also plan to email him every day until i get a response. Gonna be on him like white on rice. Like a fat kid who loves cake.

Do you have a link or info for this or the exact forum you are talking about? I will do whatever I can just like you haha just to get a response from USCIS, this is ridiculous having to wait this long. Thanks so much.

  12. Hi I have a case I-130 from USCIS in Nebraska Service Center is now passed my PD date (At December 9th 2016 now) and my PD is Dec 6th 2016. I am a US Citizen filing for my wife.

Well its been  almost 10 months wait, called USCIS even to Tier 1 and Tier 2 (Although its hard to get to Tier 2 because they will keep saying its the same), and no good response.

I already submitted inquiry last week and USCIS says to wait 30 days for it. also submitted letter to senator/congressman last week, no response from either one. Does anyone know any other way to get by this or any other tips? are they gona send me any NOA-2 noticed from E-mail, Text OR physical mail OR the USCIS app? and is there a chance that they might send an RFE because I am hoping not even after this long period of wait. Im already waiting 10 months almost and im just told to wait, and if they send me a physical mail how long is that and is it from a letter from USPS or UPS?. Thank you in advance.

  13. 21 hours ago, CopperChem said:

Have your fiance call and talk to tier 2. They currently list processing March 1st NOA1 date. It means you are now outside normal times. Tier 2 can do a lot more for you.

I tried myself contacting a Tier 2. The USCIS in Tier 1 keeps saying Tier 2 will say the same stuff and prevents you from going to Tier 2. Although I did go to Tier 2 and nothing was provided for me from them even after I ask. I am waiting 10 months for an I-130 on a Spouse CR-1 Visa and I am a US Citizen and still no approval yet even after my processing times date passed.

    Hi Jorge,

Thanks for the great and detailed reply. That does give a direction.

Is there any way to get a status document saying that USCIS is processing my I-130? like pre-approval processing letter? My wife will need something like that to show her employer to prove that she is married and is in process of going away. Since 8 months a way too long.

I am waiting already 9 and half months since my NOA1 and im still patiently waiting and I am a US Citizen. My wife is from Indonesia and we filed a I-130 petition at Nebraska Service Center. Nothing i can do at this point but keep waiting because it was useless to call USCIS. Might need help from a Senator and get a service request if dates is passed. Good luck

I feel like everyone else who got a different service center from Nebraska won the i130 sweepstakes.

If this were a competition this is how it plays out:

#1 - Vermont - March 14, 2017 - how is it that they can be 3 months ahead of Nebraska and not have files transferred to balance workload?

#2 - Potomac - Not sure of accurate time as Visa Journey has it listed as Oct 24, 2016 but the USCIS page has them processing at Jan 1, 2017 as of May 31. They are likely into March - again why isn't Potomac getting transfers if they are ahead by 3 months?

    #3 - Texas - Feb 11, 2017 - Nearly 2 months ahead of Nebraska - again why isn't Texas getting transfers?

#4 - California - Jan 27, 2017 - What the heck happened to all their i130's??? If you take a look at the USCIS processing times page they no longer list i130!! Does this mean USCIS (aka useless) decided to cut out 1 service center out of i130 processing? Do they plan on replacing this service center with another or hiring more people for the backlog?

#5 - Nebraska - Dec 13, 2016 - There are still Nov filers getting processed and every month we are lucky if 15 days of files are going through. USCIS claims i130 petitions are supposed to be processed within 9 months max. At this rate we are all going to be lucky if we get our applications processed by the end of 2017.

If the USCIS processing times page is correct they processed Nov 26, 2017 i130's as of June 30. Visa Journey says today they are processing i130s from Dec 13, 2017. That suggests that in 30 working days (not total days) they have only processed 17 days worth of applications. They are clearly not keeping up with their workload.

There is an obvious solution to the problem but yet nobody in USCIS (useless) wants to deal with it.

If anyone speaks with their Congressperson the people in charge of USCIS need to figure out a solution before the problem gets any worse.

I've waited 6 months so far with no end in sight. A few years back we were able to apply at our consulate abroad and the i130 took 2 months (we never completed). But they've hiked the fees and the people who work at the NSC are incredibly rude. This whole process is ridiculous. There is something wrong when I am forced to be separated from my spouse who I've been married to for almost a decade. But if you've never met your boyfriend you can get a K-1 Visa and enter the US for 90 days. My spouse and I joked how we should just get a divorce and file K-1 so we aren't separated. The scary part is by the end of this process it wouldn't take that much longer.

This is very true from what you sourced, I am trying to find out why it takes so long, oh well patients is key there is nothing to do once its in the govt hands. and i agree its pretty useless to call USCIS as they only use their "generic" scripts to talk to you saying are we customer filing etcc form etc and how to help and verify processing times which is all found on website and thats it.

I posted in another thread but this may help you. My NOA1 was December 6 in Nebraska. At the end of July, we figured it won't hurt to contact our senator (still within normal processing time). We sent a release authorization, and we got a reply back from them dated August 3rd. Basically it said we are still in line, our case has not been assigned yet and to just look at the website. But then this week, we received our NOA2 approval in the mail, and it is dated August 8th. So I'm not sure if the senator's inquiry helped get the case assigned. Sometime between August 3rd and 8th, we were assigned and approved. It is worth noting that as of right now (August 15), our online status still says "case received". Also we were supposed to be signed up for e-notifications and we didn't get anything from them.

Congrats on your approval and il definetely check that out. I was going to contact a Senator this week. Was there a specific website or form that you filled out?

I mean it doesn't hurt to try it out, I was wondering myself. Thanks! that would be so helpful. Did you receive NOA2 through a Physical Mail at home?

  17. 3 hours ago, fcl said:

Thanks, We contacted congressman before, but by the time (couple of days) they contacted USCIS, we were already out of normal processing times, so they replied back with some info.  Since you are so close from being out of normal processing time (they usually update processing times every 15th), you might as well start contacting your congressman.

Yes, if you keep calling USCIS right now, they will tell  you're in normal processing times. Hopefully by tomorrow they will update the processing dates. That way you can file an inquiry plus congressman.

Im going to try a Senator this week for CA. they usually update twice a month but not very much.

Can I ask if you got your approval on the Physical Home Mail first?? (Or does it also change on the website case status? I keep seeing Case was received, I wanted to know whats the first thing to expect for an approval?)

Wenever I call USCIS its always a generic response from their typical call scripts.

Thanks and good luck on your next steps!

Hi this is same in my situation. my husband is a US citizen and he applied me and we received our NOA -1 on same date as your December 6th 2016. we are waiting and calling but there is no response. it is more than enough. i am very worried.

Hi, I know I have been calling many times as well. only keep saying to keep waiting...The processing time as USCIS is still November 26th 2016, it became very slow to reach the Dec 2016. I just dont know what to do, they say file inquiry after date has passed their website and then call senator for help. I dont know if i can do that now because USCIS website did not allow me

Our NOA2 took almost 8 months, after several service requests we contacted congressman, we where told our case was held back due to background checks, two weeks later we where approved.  Not sure if congressman was able to speed up our case, but it definitely doesn't hurt to try, at least they will tell you why your case is taking so long.

Can I ask if you called your congressman before or after the processing time has passed on USCIS website? Congrats on your approval ! I am still waiting and I dont know what to do next, USCIS tells me everytime its normal processing times and im almost 9 months waiting now.

  19. Hi, I filed for my Wife Petition and received NOA-1 on December 6th 2016. I was following USCIS processing times and within a month they only process 10-11 days worth of cases for an I-130 from November 15-26 2016 right now on their website. Is anyone taking longer than expected to get their NOA-2. I hear others only took a month or 2 for NOA2 on an I-130 spousal petition and Im just patiently waiting and nothing I can do at this point and thats what USCIS keeps telling me everytime I call them about my case. Its no help. Is talking to a Senator going to help at all?? like how long are they gona take..I am just worried that im waiting this long and doing something else will just delay my wait even more. Does someone have experience or can help me with this manner? I know the only response i keep getting is "keep waiting" from USCIS. Thanks in advance!!

Is the process right now in k1 visa too long because of there new president? Please help me.

Im waiting almost 9 months now on an NOA2 date for I-130 and im filing for CR-1 visa. I know K1 might be faster than that...Good Luck

    Good Luck!

Appreciate it! yes right now i feel its too early to know everything. Im concerned about if the ban will eventually effect every Visa. hopefully there is a positive light out there for everyone. Thanks!
