Hey guys...My husband passed his citizen interview today. He is scheduled for the oath ceremony 2 weeks from now. The officer was very polite and he kept things cool. My husband had been really tense since yesterday. The officer asked him details that were already on the application, our marriage, traffic violations, tax reports...and then he was told he passed! Good luck to all still waiting for the interview 😊😊

Interview requested at Abu Dhabi, UAE.
We had already filed our daughter's application as a separate one just in case he got his citizen interview early..didn't want it to be delayed any longer.

Hi Guys,
just a fast heads up in regards to NVC processing times for F2A. There are multiple threads for CR1 and K1 visas but non for F2A.
My documents where received and scanned by NVC mid February and today March 7 we got case completed and approved by NVC.
My wife and I are very happy, will have a glass of Champagne later on
However, this shows that NVC does process F2A in the same speed as they would for CR1 and they are much faster than the 11 weeks they state on their website. Good luck everyone. Hope everyone will be with his partner soon!
@Michael2017...congrats!!

How long does it take USCIS to update F2A to IR1 if it's already case complete at NVC?

Someone with PD April 2, 2016 has gotten interview for April 5, 2018 - Philippines. Posted on FB.. I guess those with PDs after March 22, 2016 should start calling NVC now.

I don`t think so, because their prognoses are 3-5 weeks. I think it has to do with work load they can handle at this point in time. I expect the VB
to be in October 2016 at the end of the fiscal year, in September 2018.
Oh ok...Thanks Michaël😊😊

Are they running out of visa numbers so early this year?

@JAtlantaIf that's the case then we are only going to get called by April/May 2018..provided they move at that speed and not slower😔😔

Ours is June 20th.
Thanks..Did you try calling and asking? Because some offices are getting them done sooner..why is Atlanta delayed? I tried to call but they keep saying "your case is within normal processing times." It's been 237 days now 😐

My husband also filed for naturalization in June end 2017. No update after fingerprints. Eagerly waiting to complete the process. Our is Atlanta local field office.
Hi JAtlanta....what's your PD? My husband has also applied from Atlanta ( June 1, 2017) & we are waiting since August for an interview. How about you?

I know the waiting is frustrating. Not sure about the Atlanta office, but based on what I've been reading around here, Newark office has been sending interview letters approximately 7 months after the biometrics. Hang in there, your husband's time will come! Good luck!
@juliavaThank you for your kind words 😊

I applied early June 2017 and I've been in line for interview since July.
@juliava Thank you for replying. My husband applied May 26, 2017 and his PD June 1, 2017 - Atlanta . He has been "case in line for interview" since August 22, 2017. We have heard nothing so far. Hoping he receives the interview notice soon too like everyone else.

Last night around 10pm I received text and email from USCIS confirming that interview has been scheduled and that they will mail me the interview letter! Newark office is moving!
@juliava Congrats!!! When did you apply?

Hi. My husband applied citizenship on June 1, 2017...had his FP done within 2 weeks...and has been "in line for interview" since August 22, 2017. Any one know why it is taking so long now? its almost 8 months (in another 4-5 days) now since submitting the application. We can't raise an enquiry online nor via phone because they keep saying the "average time is 6-8 months...you should hear from them within 8 months"...yet we haven't received anything so far...what do we do?
-
-
@Lela37Congrats!! What is your PD? How long have you been waiting??
-
@Gamboli....what government shutdown? What are you talking about?!! Where did you read that? Could you please share the link?

N400 taking 10 months at Atlanta
F2A taking 2 years +/- 1 month
Not a good year...feeling so low 😔😢
Any March 2016 filers received IL?
-
Are Atlanta processing times for N400 taking a year now from application date? They usually send interview notice 4 to 6 weeks prior to the interview right? That means we have no interview this month neither next month 😔😔 March then?

Interview scheduled on March 9th, 2018 at 12.15 pm
My husband reached there by 11.15 am. There was a 5 minute security check at the entrance. Then he was instructed to go to the 1st counter to check in at the ground floor. He showed them the interview letter and they sent to me to the 3rd floor. On the 3rd floor, there was a big waiting area, a reception counter & 3 doors. He was asked to wait till 11.45 am as he was early. He was given a token number and a door number number. The officer called his out token number and door number and invited him in. He was asked to raise his right hand & was sworn in. His photo was taken and fingerprints of both hands for verification.
The officer asked my husband to sit down, opened his file & went through it question by question. Two things were different from the time he applied...his residential address and the fact that he had a traffic violation. My husband had accidentally given a "no" because he thought traffic violations weren't included. Any penalty under $500 without an arrest does not need any documentary proof so he thought he didnt need to include it in that question. My husband updated the officer on the change of address and the fact that he had a traffic violation under $500 which was marked respectively on the application.
Then the officer pulled a random questionnaire comprising of 20 questions and started asking questions. My husband got his 1st 6 questions correct so the officer was kind enough to stop. He was then asked to read a random statement and write a sentence in English. Then the officer attached the questionnaire & both the papers of the read out & written statement to the original application. My husband was told that he passed and his application will be updated for approval. Following this, he was given a letter stating that his application was proposed for approval. Then he was asked to wait in the waiting area. 15 minutes later, a supervisor reviewed the case and printed out a letter detailing the oath ceremony date and time.
And that was it!! So relieved!!!! :-)
Good luck. Hope your interview goes well too!
