  1. Hello Everybody, I wanted to share our experience during the AOS Interview.

Our Date was JUne 26th, 2019 at 11:10 am. We arrived at 10:45 am to be cautious with time.

They called everyone in the room except us, we were the last couple to be called that had me extremely stressed out. Finally the Agent called my name, we followed him to is office and he asked us to raise our right hand to swear. Then he review the folder he already had on his desk with our application, he asked the eligibility questions (If I was part of a terrorism group, genocide, prostitution, etc), I answer No, He asked my husbands current employer, my employer, my husbands children's name and that was it. No more questions, I didn't even open the folder that I had prepared with our evidences (bank statements, insurance policies, pictures, etc ) He said " everything looks fine, you should be receiving your green card in the mail  within the next 30 days". And that was it, we were done. All these years being afraid of that moment and it happened so quickly and went so well. I still haven't received my green card in the mail it's only been 3 days, I'm so happy and relieved.

    Good Luck to everyone else!!.

  4. Hello Everyone,

I'm fairly new to this thread, I'm also waiting for my EAD card/AP. I had my biometrics done May 4th, 2018 after that I haven't heard anything at all, no letters, no emails, no updates. is that normal?  I check my case status on the USCIS Website almost everyday and still says "Fingerprint Fee was received".. Not even an update after my biometrics were done. I noticed how many of you have Expedited your case. How can I do that? I check the processing times and I'm still within their "normal processing time".  I'm in Florida, National Benefit Center is Oakland Park.

THanks in advance for any info.

I admit the OP's post was a little confusing in regards to talking about being apart and simultaneously complaining about AOS processing times, but I have no idea how you interpreted this as (s)he contemplating visa fraud via a VWP entrance and subsequent filing. FYI, Venezuela, the country listed as the home country in the user's profile, isn't part of the visa waiver program.

Thanks for your reply, I'm currently waiting for our NOA2, we submitted I-130 back in April, I'm not adjusting status, It was just a question, a thought. it's painful being apart and who knows for how long. I read a lot about it, consulted our attorney about AOS, just wanted to know other opinions. That's all.

    Dear friends,

iam married for almost 2years now, my USC wife has filed a petition (I-130) for me to receive an Immediate Relative Immigrant Visa from the U.S. embassy in Jordan, and the petition has been approved and i was sent an approval notice.

currently iam in the states, i have entered the states through a b1/b2 visa with no intent to immigrate ( to do some exams and things like that ), accedently, i heared about the I-485 form, by which i can change my status from nonimmigrant to a permenant resident status.

can i use this form to permenantly reside in the states??? meaning that, can i change my b1/b2 status to a permenant resident status ???

P.S, i have read the instructions for I-485 form, and from what i have read, it appears that iam an eligible candidate for applying to an AOS through this form !!!

How did it go for you?. It's being 7 years after you submited this post.

Hi all, my husband and I recently mailed our I-130 petition to bring me into the US. We have gotten our NOA1 and the wait for NOA2 has began.

When we filled the I-130 form on number 22 "If your relative is not eligible for adjustment of status, he or she will apply for a visa abroad at the American consular post in: " we put down PANAMA as that is the country where we both currently lived in. He is a dual citizen of Panama and the US and I am a Peruvian citizen residing in Panama with a work visa. However, after sending our petition I quit my job and lost my panama residency. I am now here as a tourist.

I am guessing the US embassy in Panama will no longer be able interview me and give me a visa and I must do it in Peru, correct?

How should we go about a change of address for me, the beneficiary? Should we do it now while we are at the USCIS stage or wait for our NOA2 and do it with NVC?

PS. I must add we got married here in PANAMA.

    TIA

    Hello,

I noticed your post and I'd like to know what happended or how are you going to do it since I'll be on a similar position, My Panamenian permit will expire on July and I dont believe I will be able to renew it because it's going to cost me a lot of money that I don't have right now plus I'll be moving to live with my husband next year once this process it's ready. I have a confuion about what to do, we put Panama Embassy on our I-130, but I'm  Venezuelan.

    I'm currently waiting for NOA2.

    PD: April 19th.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hello

How's everyone doing? Any news from anyone?

    Wishing everyone a lovely weekend.

    Ina 😊

    Hi Inabars,

I'm doing fine.. Self educating, reading, learning, getting ready for our next step, getting as much info as possible to be ready for NVC process since we are doing this ourselves with no attorneys involved.

I went to visit my Husband last week, stayed for 5 days, I was a bit worried about going thru inmigration for the 1st time since we sent our I-130, I wasn't sure what to say, luckily the Agent was very nice and didn't ask me anything.

I downloaded a sample of the DS-260 to get familiarized so when the time comes I'll be ready, also I found a GREAT Checklist of the process thru another member here on VJ. It is on the NVC Checklist thread.

    Have a great weekend everyone.;)

This is a wise idea.. I found the following website to be one of the best... I read and re read every step and followed each link at each step, until I felt I had moderate clarity of the proces  what I needed to do and how to do it...

For example, here is what it says about Choose and Agent"

    https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/approved/Step_1_Choose_an_agent.html

I've been to that web site several times but now that I have it all clear I understand what I'm reading :D.

    Thanks a lot.

You are not the only one who has looked at that first form and thought  Help!!!!!   Its hard not to stress when it just doesnt seem clear.... even after reading and rereading the instructions!

:D Exactly ... I'm Glad I'm not the only one going crazy everytime I discover something new.

I'm getting ready for my NVC part of the process, I'm just at NOA1 stage but getting ready for whats next,  "self educating" on this topics.

    Thanks again.

Most of us have ourselves, the  beneficiary , as the agent... it dictates where notices are mailed to by NVC ... but, if the beneficiary is outside the US,  some choose the petitioner as agent,  so that mail goes to the US adress and is faster... with so much being done online and  with email updates and notifications, this agent choice is no where near as critical as it used to be.. but you still have to do it first!

    Dee Elle:

Thank you so much for this clarification, I was so confused with the Agent question. I really appreciate it.

  12. Just now, Dee elle said:

Ds 261 is the first form  to be filed with NVC  it is the Choice of Agent form... the information is often given over the phone to the NVC officer as well.. dont worry, when you are able to acces the online NVC process for your case #, you will clearly see directions for this form..

Thanks a Lot for clarifying it.

If I'm not working with an attorney what should I put? I don't have an agent.:o

Welcome!  I was confused out of my mind when I started so made one and I'm glad others are finding it useful.  Just be aware that phone number options changed slightly and the Case Complete indicators have been changed since they updated their systems in April!

I'm reviewing your checklist right now, tremendous help since we are doing this on our own without any attorney's help. I have a question since you already submitted your DS-260, I didn't know about a DS-261 Form until now, so that needs to be submitted together?. what is DS-261 for? I'm just starting the process waiting for NOA2. Thanks a lot in advance.

I have a checklist I used for my personal situation - it's the nvc process checklist in my signature. However, I was the sole sponsor and petitioner, there were no divorces and no adoptions etc .

Paychecks and employment verification is optional for those who want to supplement the required tax returns/ transcripts.

    hope that helps!

Hello JessieABC... Your NVC process guide is Incredible Neat and Professional,

Thanks a lot for sharing it with us.

Unfortunately our case was routed to NSC too. And they aren't processing October yet, They are currently working on August 2016 petitions.

Maybe in 2 weeks or less they will start with September applications.

    :o August..?

I noticed that on the USCIS website but says as of February 28th,2017. Probably has moved a little bit more, this is what I saw on the Processing times tab located above...  shows NSC October 8th, 2016. Hopefully I'm understanding correctly .

  16. Good Morning to you all,

We received our Email/Text message yesterday afternoon (7 days after they cashed my husband's check). Our case has been accepted and routed to the Nebraska Service Center. Anyone else with NSC?. I checked on the statistics and right now they are working with October 2016 petitions. So here we go... I guess will be all together on this Journey for sometime so Best of luck Everyone! ;)

  17. Hello Everyone,

We are still waiting to receive our NOA1, Our petition was received on April 19th, Check was cashed last friday April 20th, I know it's still too soon, I'm not worried but curious why my Husband received 2 emails from USCIS with a link for a survey ..? Survey for what? We still have nothing to survey since we are just starting our process. Down the road for sure...;)

Have any of you received this survey links prior to a NOA1?

Thanks and have a great day!
