I have already apologized to you for apparently offending you earlier. Please rest assured that it was never my intention to do so. However, this is a public forum open to everybody. I will continue to respond to posts when I believe I can contribute to the discussion in a positive manner and provide useful information. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Apologies, I absolutely did not mean this in a directive way. I figured you'd be interested in finding out what's triggering those email notifications, but of course it's up to you whether to post it or not.

Well, it looks like your best option might be, as you say (and despite it not being exciting) to (if you are called for your interview before September) to postpone the interview, or go to the interview but reschedule your oath ceremony and so on until after your trip. 
 
On the other hand, I'm sure that they've seen this sort of thing before. I understand that as a Canadian I have "favoured" status in many ways, but I'm pretty certain that with your 2 valid passports and the marriage certificate that explains the name change, you will be able to talk your way through any difficulties you may encounter. 
 
Or... and here's a brand new idea: If you are flying exclusively on a US airline carrier, (Delta, American, United) they apparently have a way to change the name on the ticket (and presumably update your passport information) if you have a legal name change. Maybe inquire about that when you make your booking and see if it's hypothetically possible. I read a couple of online articles about this that were dated 2016, so it might still work!

I can't use my Romanian passport to board a plane to the USA without showing a visa or a GC or another document that shows I am allowed to enter the US. That's the problem. Canadians don't have to deal with this because they don't need to visa to visit. I'll board the plane in Budapest and then have a layover in Amsterdam, where they interview all passengers boarding a flight directly to the US. I'll have to show them my US passport at that point, with a different name on the ticket. 
Changing the name on my Romanian passport is impossible right now, since the Romanian Consulate in LA requires proof of my status in the US valid for another 6 months - my GC is expired and my extension letter is about to expire. I guess I could wait for a couple months, but I'm afraid prices might go up.  

Very trivial error. You should be fine. Just clarify at interview if/when it is brought up. 

@nightingalejules Congratulations! Its been one helluva journey and hopefully it will all be over once and for all. What a motivation to end the N-400 now. 

Celebrating today and wanted to share it here, because some of my old "I-751 buddies" are on this thread. I finally got approved for my 10 year green card (after almost 19 months)! It took multiple service requests and 2 senatorial inquiries, and my local office finally requisitioned my file and phoned me to say they were approving it, and that the card should arrive within the next 2 weeks! My online status (on the new site) updated today to say the card was being produced... so now I just have to wait for my N-400 interview and I'll be done with USCIS forever! Yay!

I became eligible in late July, but moved from VT to NY at the end of August and had to wait the 3 months to file. Then I had to wait some more because VT could not track down the court records for a speeding ticket (12 over...) that I received in 2016, something I requested back in July and received in February. So not a year ago, more like 6 months. Still, good point. Regarding the eligibility date, I think the same question popped up in the January 2018 filers thread, the consensus was that they won't schedule the interview until you're eligible.

I bet. On the flip side, your decision to apply for the N-400 will almost nullify the I751 as majority of your interview will waver around the naturalization which takes precedence. Still awesome. I'd be happy to receive that notice you have today! LOL  as majority of us applicants on here.

Yes definitely! It seems like the National Benefit's Center is like the Holding Center for our cases before it is adjuncticated and sent to our local office (which in our case is MINNEaPOLIS center ) for combined interview. Sometimes not combined just the n400 interview. 
Yaay we are one step closer ... anytime soon now ... sigh 

But on this occasion it gave me a 'field office' (of CSC) which online did not.

My theory on this status update is that your case is currently on the table being worked on.

I agree with the decision to file as some of our fellow members questioned the need to apply when the ROC is pending because its a waste of money. I don't agree with them as even if the ROC is adjudicated / not we will still have to pay for the N400 filing fees. And knowing filing for N400 pushes them to adjudicate the i751 it can only be good. 

Oh right well i guess the info will work for your spouse then. But yeah i agree with you, the actual card is 100x better. 

Good luck and I am pretty positive you would be done in few months. You made a good decision by filing for naturalization because this way you will save some time in the end. I will be filing in less than 2 weeks. 

Your ROC will first be determined before the citizenship. It's a 2 in 1 interview.

I think the interview only applies to people seeking employment or asylum based green cards. I think I-751 will stay the way it is.

I check it like crazy because I am dreaming that my card will just come through with a note saying" Sorry gurl for all the trouble. Here is your shiny new card. Attached is a coupon for starbucks coffee to make up for all the hassle. Love always~

Ok interview is better than being left in the dark i would imagine. That shows there is movement on our cases which is better for us all. 
 
Yes thats the spirit we all need. Spirit of positivity and optimism. Hopefully all will be well and we all receive our new shiny cards in the coming week. 

Well I actually have that exact same message in my USCIS account. Exact wordings. Lets be hopeful like Shell20 mentioned, its a move whether be it RFE, approval or interview. Its better than being in the black hole we've all been in.
