Hi,
I am not sure where I need to post this one.
I need to get a OCI card.
I am currently a US Citizen, formerly born in India. I did my schooling/college in India before coming to US via immigration.
But I don't have a Indian passport (possibly lost). Can I still apply for OCI card if I don't have the Indian passport in my possession?
Thank you

Hi,
I am from Washington state and when I was looking at this
https://www.uscis.gov/i-751-direct-filing-addresses
It says I can mail (if I am using UPS/Fedex overnight) to this address >>
USCIS
Attn: I-751
1820 E. Skyharbor Circle S
Suite 100
Phoenix, AZ 85034when I look up this address >>
USCIS
1820 E. Skyharbor Circle S
Suite 100
Phoenix, AZ 85034it says this has been closed. If this has been closed - what should I do? We are 14 days away from my wife's conditional green card expiration (I-751 process)
Please advise - Google says its CLOSED

I learnt a new abbreviation today >> AFAIK ( thank you)

Hi,
I am jointly filing for my spouse Removal of conditions on her green-card. The issues is today is 5/25/2020 (and we have 30 days before the expiry of the green-card, from today)
When I downloaded the LATEST I751 from USCIS.gov >> the downloaded form says >>
OMB No. 1615-0038
Expires 12/31/2019
when I complete this form and send all the docs with it, will it get denied because the form itself expires on 12/31/2019?
I am worried. Please advise
Thanks

In my country tourism visas are always b1/b2 especially for multiple entry visas. The singular ones are less frequently used unless the visit is specific to medical treatment (b2) or solely business (b1).
Oh I see...... I also heard something somewhere but couldn't recall. Thank you

If you select a B1 DOS will go into more detail about your work. People that work for companies and need a B1 are far more less likely to overstay than someone who is entering on a B2 and planning to overstay.
The applicant has to prove to DOS that they do not have immigrant intent.
If your parents have visa stamps that does show they have returned home.
Thank you Paul, that explains it. thank you

Somewhere I was reading that B1/B2 types are mostly approved wth few instances of B2 so I was not sure there. Once they approve your Visa, that visa is like for several years I am assuming

Is he coming for a conference too? No then just pick B2.
I thought you mother was coming.
Has you father traveled to places needing a visa before?
Hi Paul,
Thanks for the clarification. Yes, both my mom and dad are planning to come to US. My dad - he is not coming to a conference, just family visit

Hi
there are only two applicable options in this scenario -
Business & Tourism (B1/B2)
OR
Tourism/Medical Treatment (B2)
So which one here would make most sense?
Thanks
What most of folks have done, in your scenario? any feedbacks will be appreciated

She completes a DS-160, schedules an interview, then interviews.
https://ustraveldocs.com/ for her country may have specific instructions.

Hi
I am filling out the i-864 EZ for my alien spouse to mail her a signed copy of this form to her before her interview at the US consulate.
Which section of that form, I need to sign as a petitioner?

Lol...coming from country where rumors like this are prevalent, this one gave me a good laugh.
A popular rumor my home country is that if you win the DV Lottery, Uncle Sam will give you a house and a car to welcome you.
Hahahah...thats a good one

Hi,
My wife got the letter from NVC stating the date of visa interview at the Mumbai US consulate.
My question is: when she has to schedule the medical exams, should she schedule it 2weeks or few days before the interview day? How much earlier or shortest time is it preferable to schedule the medical prior to the visa interview, given the time to receive the results back?
Thanks
-
Hi All,
I have already sent the supporting and other documents in one package to the NVC for my wife who is India. I also completed DS260 and DS261 online.
Today (3/23) - NVC told me that they have received all of my documents as of 3/22. They told me that it might take up to 11 weeks before they sent out the next email for next steps.
Let's say if my chance is good - they sent an email in only 6 weeks from now - lets say 3rd May.
Now in that very letter will they already have sent a future US Consulate interview date? like 4 weeks after 3rd May?
If anyone has gone though the process, please indicate the approx timeline in weeks/months between the time you get the first review letter of NVC (after DS260,261 submission + all documents received by NVC) and your US consulate interview. Knowing this critical information will help us get ready for many other things
tHank you
