  1. so now that you know your getting a car , any idea what kind you'd like? make , model?.......i love my impala great mileage, i was getting 735 kms on a tank highway and 500 kms city driving.

  2. weird al is great and you gotta love being canadian eh! my husband thinks its cute when i type eh in conversations. And apparently roof, and garage are funny also. hmmm! lets get some more canadian approvals soon . terry

  3. hi i guess i'll put my 2 cents in. I'm leaving the cold praire winters for the beautiful mountains of Idaho. Coeur d' Alene to be exact. Jobs are plentiful scenery is beautiful weather is great i have'nt sampled restaurants yet. Spokane Wash borders us if you need the bigger city life. It does not SMELL!!!!!!!. Housing is up there in prices but not too bad. Its close to canada. Its safe people are friendly. My husbands been there 13 years and loves it after leaving calif (modesto) area. Down fall is no hockey or football teams nearby and no nascar tracks either.

  4. hi i'm not all that familar with real estate, but if you can get a good price for your home i would buy another house right away while prices are being slashed, before the trend changes and they rise again. also i don't know where you live? Houses are still pretty high in coeur d' alene Idaho, am hoping to see a drop when it comes to buying. market slow where i am also homes were selling great then sudden stop just when i put mine on the market then 3 of my neighbors put theirs up. And i guess it all boils down to how many more years you intend to stay in the u.s.

  5. hi everyone , just wanted to see if anyone was sitting in limbo like me. our case so far is we are waiting for approvals sent the rfe for the i130 that they asked for waiting to hear it got there, am wondering if the i129f will want this same info also? with regards to the 134 and 864 my husband only had 2005 tax done as a single the previous 2 years he had to file with his ex. so don't know what to do with that, also would we have to include all his kids in family when meeting the poverty line? he has one daughter liveing with him and pays child support for 3 othersplus their health insurance its not a huge amount or would our household be myself my 2 kids ,him and his daughter? its hard closeing your life down in your own country transfering paperwork to go down to the u.s. paying off debts so much sooner etc. i still need my house to sell pay off my mortgage and figure out a new loan for my car apparently i can't take my car out of canada for more then 30 days till its paid off. hsbc. i guess this could have been posted in the rant forum if i could find it again thanks ahead of time for any and all replies. by the end of this journey i should be able to figure out how to do things on here like showing our progress in my posts? terry

  6. am i ever glad i saw your posting i never even thought of ei benefits. i guess i have to wait a bit till i know when i'll leave my job here. i'm also in winnipeg, i'll have to wait for my holiday pay etc,its hard to think about leaving a job you love after nearly 20 years .in june it will be 20 years with the winnipeg regional health authority.

  7. well i won't repeat what everyone else has said, and yes it is hard some days you feel like you are all alone. i think being married does make it harder when you are so anxious to start your lives together and be a family, i'm just thankful i'm only 2300 kms away and a 12 hour drive from weekend visits with my husband and our nightly talks on phone and internet. its the others here who are oceans away from their loved ones i really feel for. and i think we can all be thankful knowing this journey will end and we can be with our loved ones think of the military wives and husbands who are away protecting us not knowing if they will make it back to their familys. tonight say a prayer for them and their safe return. terry and george

  8. hi i'm not sure howcustoms at airport is but border crossing is easy ,and they do keep track of how long you've been in the us when they run your name. i never have problems since july i just say i'm going to see my u.s. husband and when i'll return. they never ask mystatus for immigration even, a lot depends on agent you talk to but all have been great so far. our next weekend visit is in 23 days yahooo.

  9. hi wow after being on here nearly a month i feel so lost. when my hubby and i started this process we only used uscis information which i'm sure everyone knows isn't all that clear. we had done some research and discovered the k3/k4 visa so we got married then filled out i130 and sent it then after seeing that it was still a long process my brain unfroze and i remembered we were doing k3 so off went the i129f we got rfe on the i130 they needed the divorce judgements not the certicates as dates were different and had no judges signature, so we sent that in and are waiting for receipt of that, and of course we never made any copies of our original petions. we also never sent all 4 copies each of the g325 i think we sent 2 only as there was noinfo on thisin uscis. then of course i discover this great site here, and all i can hope is we haven't messed this whole process up. this is really stressful.so my question is other then not haveing copies of the petions will this mess up my interview or do they send you copies of your original petition to take with you? i'll even give them 10 cents a copy if it helps.everyone here is so wonderful with their advice and care and concern for others here thank you

  10. i believe the processing date is 6 months behind so thatif you haven't heard anything by 6 months then to call them its just a guide line . i filed my i130 in june got noa1 in july then and rfe in sept approval is next .the 129f seems to be moving slower though. hope this helps a little i'm sure someone has better info then mine.

  11. hi well we finally got the rfe letter today,it was about our divorces, they want my husband to copy his entire divorce documents. and on one of mine they can't figure out the dates. one is the date the divorce was final the other date is the date i paid to get certificate. totally unreal. and here i wrote out 8 g325's thinking that they wanted all four copies. guess they only needed the 1 or 2 we sent. so now i just have to write a note explaining them. totally frustrating at this point. has anyone else been asked for info like this? hope this doesn't mean problems down the line. :(

    GST

hi sorry about caps being on , i'll downsize what i wrote, i called gst to report my marital status change and name also, while on the phone i was told that i needed to provide my non residents 2005 income as gst is based on family income even though we don't live together yet. and that i may have to pay some of my july payment back as we married in june. gst is based month to month. child tax is okay though. all payments will end when i move to the u.s thanks also for clearing house info . hope this can be read now

    GST

HI I WAS JUST READING ABOUT CUSTOM HOUSE THATS GOOD TO KNOW AS I NEED TO SEND MY FUNDS TO MY U.S. BANK WHEN MY HOUSE SELLS, SO I WAS THINKING ABOUT MONEY AND THOUGHT I'D LET ANYONE WHO RECEIVES THE GST CREDIT HERE TO CALL THEM. IF YOU HAVE MARRIED A U.S. CITIZEN AND HAVE NOT MOVED THERE YET YOU STILL HAVE TO NOTIFY GST OF YOUR MARITAL STATUS, AND GET A COPY OF YOUR U.S. SPOUSES 2005 INCOME TAX RETURN. SO THEY CAN ADJUST YOUR FAMILY INCOME, I WAS TOLD I MAY HAVE TO PAY PART F MY JULY CREDIT BACK AS WE MARRIED IN JUNE. CHILD TAX CREDIT IS OK THOUGH YOU LOSE IT WHEN YOU MOVE ACROSS. IF ANYONE ELSE HAS COME ACROSS THIS AND HAS BETTER INFO PLEASE POST THANKS TERRY

  12. HI FUNNY I WAS WONDERING ABOUT AIRMILES ALSO, YOUR BEST BET IS TO CALL THEM BECAUSE I DO KNOW THAT YOU CAN TRANSFER THEMPROBALLY EASIEST TO PUT THEM ALL ON ONE CARD THEN DO THE BOOKING. IF YOU HAVEN'T BOOKED A HOTEL YET THE SHERATON IS NICE AND YOU CAN WALK TO EMBASSY FROM THERE, PLUS GREAT SHOPPING ON ST CATHERINES STREET. I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG YOU ARE STAYING THERE BUT YOU GET VISA THE NEXT DAY, MAKE IT A POINT TO GO TO OLD MONTREAL ITS WONDERFUL VERY ROMANTIC IF YOU HAVE YOUR SWEETIE WITH YOU. I WAS THERE WITH MY AUNT WHEN SHE GOT HER K1 IN 2004. TERRY

  13. HI I JUST CHECKED YOUR TIMELINE, THAT IS BASED ON OTHERS HERE WHO HAVE SIMILAR ONES, BUT SEEING HOW LONG ITS BEEN FOR YOU I WOULD PUT A CALL INTO UCIS AND SEE IF THEY CAN TRACK IT FOR YOU, BY ALL RIGHTS YOU SHOULD HAVE HAD SOME KIND OF NOTICE, WE FILED IN JUNE AND HAVE GOTTEN A FEW TOUCHES AND ON SEPT 19TH A RFE EMAIL NOTICE.KEEP US POSTED. TERRY

  14. HI. I'VE CROSSED THE BORDER TWICE DURING THE PROCESS AND ONCE WITH THE KIDS I JUST SAY I'M VISITING HUBBY AND WILL GO BACK ON SUCH AND SUCH A DATE, SO FAR SO GOOD NO HASSLES I THINK THE CANADIAN IS MORE INTERESTED IN THE WHOLE PROCESS. BUT NOW SINCE WE CAN ONLY MEET FOR WEEKENDS I MEET HIM HALFWAY IN MONTANA. KEEPS THE STRESS LEVEL DOWN (L) TERRY

  15. i just got email stating a rfe letter was sent for i130, maybe they are looking for the other g325's that i didn't send, i can't imagine what else it would be. one thing i have been following the others here and you can pretty much know when you'll get a touch or an approval i knew i would receive info today now to remember whos case i was watching lol

  16. Here is an interesting question that I did not have an answer for. My friend brought a Russian woman here (USA) on a K-1 visa about 5 years ago. He was having some big personal problems, so he asked her to go home and wait until the problems were resolved. She agreed. About a year after she went home, he filed for another K-1 visa for her. But during the process, she decided to marry a Russian man and did not go to her visa interview. He ended up bringing another Russian woman over here later and marrying her.

Both marriages ended in divorce. Now the two of them have gotten back together. He wants to go to Russia, marry her, and bring her here on a K-3 visa. He asked me if this would be possible, given the fact that she was here with him before on a K-1 and did not attend her second K-1 interview. I told him I had no idea, but that I would post his situation here and see if anybody had any opinions.

  17. i checked idahos dmv its all similar i'm bringing my drivers abstract with me, i think our only real holdup is the ssn as you only have 90 days to get licence if you have a international or out of state one, i dread doing the tests though hard to break over 20 years of driving habits that may not be the right ones. terry
