    Folks:

Feelings are raw, and the process is not easy, gut-wrenching, and highly unpleasant.  However, the bickering and attacks in this thread shall stop now, on everyone's part.

    1.  Quit assuming that someone else's comment is a personal affront directed at you, or a dagger into your heart.
    2.  Telling someone not to post on VJ is a violation of the Terms of Service.
    3.  Good ideas about procedures and coping can be learned from anywhere.  Try to look for the best in posts from others.
    4.  You're all in this together.

This infernal immigration process might be the hardest thing that any of us will go through.  At best, it's not fun; at worst, it's conscious torture and torment during every minute of every day.  People are in pain.  However, unless self-control returns to everyone's posting behavior, administrative action will be applied.  Please keep all of this in mind.

I’m sorry but you are wrong. They are not based on priority dates because I got approved ahead of people that are still waiting and their priority date is before mine. I don’t understand how they do it unless they just break up the cases and spread them out to the workers but even though I’m glad to be approved, my heart still goes out to those waiting to be approved still. It’s hard being apart from your loved ones.

Once again you are INCORRECT. USCIS does not always handle cases based on priority dates. Which was precisely what the person you initially had an issue with was saying. Had you gone through the application process like a normal person you would know this first hand. Some people who filed in Jan 2017 are still waiting for their approval while people with the NOA1 date of Feb 14 & Feb 21 have been approved already.

If you truly believe our applications have not been approved because of some cosmic energy I wish you the best of luck on the medical exam.

This is what I just fired off and sent via email to the above address (I already got the auto reply back):
I am writing on behalf of the thousands and potentially tens of thousands of applicants who are waiting for their i130 to be processed at the Nebraska Service Center. My US citizen spouse applied for me and my 4 year old son (who has citizenship rights) with a NOA1 date of Feb 8, 2017. It has been nearly 8 months since we have waited for our i130 to be approved.
I am a member of the Visa Journey website that is dedicated to intending immigrants such as myself. Me along with hundreds of others continue to watch as applications at the Potomac, Texas and Vermont Service center are approved months before people who are stuck at Nebraska. I have sent emails directly to Donald Neufeld – Associate Director of Service Operations along with James McCament – Acting Director to USCIS with no response.
After researching similar situations I have never been able to find ANY service center in the history of USCIS averaging more than 9 months to complete an i130 for a spouse or child. Currently, the NSC is not finished processing applications from December. The new normal for spouses or children who are waiting at the NSC currently stands at 10 months. This will translate into spouses and children being separated from their families for well past the CR1/IR1 1 year norm.
There is absolutely no indication this service center is doing anything to correct the problem such as transfer files or speed up the process. In the past three months alone applications have come to a standstill. Potomac and Vermont appear to be almost 3 months ahead of Nebraska while Texas is approximately 2 ½ months ahead. Why is the workload distribution not being properly shared?
It is completely unfair for USCIS to allow applications to be processed in 5 months at the Potomac Service Center and 10 months at Nebraska. The difference of 5 months for my family will cost approximately $15,000-$20,000 more in expenses. This extra time has been unbearable for not only myself and my child but for other couples who are forced to do nothing but wait.
I please ask the Office of the Ombudsman to look into why the Nebraska office is so backlogged and what they intend on doing about it. Is this a lack of oversight by USCIS or is this politically motivated by the Trump administration?
My lawyer along with many others have called the Nebraska service center to merely ask what is being done to correct the problem. It is a normal experience to have a worker from the Nebraska Service center terminate the call before providing an explanation.
Your assistance would not only help our family but tens of thousands of applicants who are experiencing hardship at the Nebraska Service Center.
    Thank you for your time.

Oh Most definitely you lifted a lot of hopes. Congrats!!!

Based on some random cases I am tracking on "Case Tracker" app, I see quite a handful approvals today (Sept 25) for January PDs mostly 1st and 2 week in January.

My heart continues to go out to folks with Aug to Dec PDs cases that are still pending. There is hope for Nebraska, all these waiting will soon be over.

I feel like everyone else who got a different service center from Nebraska won the i130 sweepstakes.

If this were a competition this is how it plays out:
#1 - Vermont - March 14, 2017 - how is it that they can be 3 months ahead of Nebraska and not have files transferred to balance workload?

#2 - Potomac - Not sure of accurate time as Visa Journey has it listed as Oct 24, 2016 but the USCIS page has them processing at Jan 1, 2017 as of May 31. They are likely into March - again why isn't Potomac getting transfers if they are ahead by 3 months?

    #3 - Texas - Feb 11, 2017 - Nearly 2 months ahead of Nebraska - again why isn't Texas getting transfers?

#4 - California - Jan 27, 2017 - What the heck happened to all their i130's??? If you take a look at the USCIS processing times page they no longer list i130!! Does this mean USCIS (aka useless) decided to cut out 1 service center out of i130 processing? Do they plan on replacing this service center with another or hiring more people for the backlog?

#5 - Nebraska - Dec 13, 2016 - There are still Nov filers getting processed and every month we are lucky if 15 days of files are going through. USCIS claims i130 petitions are supposed to be processed within 9 months max. At this rate we are all going to be lucky if we get our applications processed by the end of 2017.

If the USCIS processing times page is correct they processed Nov 26, 2017 i130's as of June 30. Visa Journey says today they are processing i130s from Dec 13, 2017. That suggests that in 30 working days (not total days) they have only processed 17 days worth of applications. They are clearly not keeping up with their workload.

There is an obvious solution to the problem but yet nobody in USCIS (useless) wants to deal with it.

If anyone speaks with their Congressperson the people in charge of USCIS need to figure out a solution before the problem gets any worse.

I've waited 6 months so far with no end in sight. A few years back we were able to apply at our consulate abroad and the i130 took 2 months (we never completed). But they've hiked the fees and the people who work at the NSC are incredibly rude. This whole process is ridiculous. There is something wrong when I am forced to be separated from my spouse who I've been married to for almost a decade. But if you've never met your boyfriend you can get a K-1 Visa and enter the US for 90 days. My spouse and I joked how we should just get a divorce and file K-1 so we aren't separated. The scary part is by the end of this process it wouldn't take that much longer.

It is all on the merit of your file.

I married my wife and we filed two months later. I have a will and she is the beneficiary, not to mention on two life insurance policies, we have photos galore of a formal wedding reception, we are co- signatories on an apartment and I have a trail a mile long of financial support for her.  Oh and I am a CPA who wouldn't risk his license and livelihood on a sham.  That all went in my file.  If USCIS thinks my marriage is a sham then they have to show me what more evidence is required to prove a relationship, because time is not evidence. I was married once before and I can tell you that time doesn't translate into a successful marriage any more genuine in nature.
