I just got off the phone with NVC. They said the case is complete! OMG I can not believe this.

    Scan Date: June 26
    IR2 category.
    Case complete: August 28

Thank you so much to everyone who helped me this morning.

    Best of luck to everyone.

I'm not complaining about making a mistake. I'm jut trying to say that you shouldn't hit someone while they are down. It was an unwarranted and unhelpful comment.  They get it, we get it. We're all in the same process.

This comes off as a bit rude. Nobody needs a "you should've known better" in this process. Have some compassion. Check yourself.

To be honest I may be faced with the same situation because my wife previously lived in Sweden but has resided in Italy since our application. Never had we read that a previous residency PC needed to be submitted within an expiration period - and we thought we had this situation down to every last detail.

Well, my husband's UK police certificate was from 2012 and we got a CC without a checklist for that since he did not return there since that time.
His best bet right now is to try his luck getting access to the supervisor handling his case.

Although you have a point. We all know this process is stressful. In the end this forum is a place to come for help. I know when I first came in I didn't even know how to work the site and I found this site after I sent documents.

While it is important to try to find out as much as you can if you have already made the mistake and come here for help and support that's what you should receive.

If you think you are your best bet is to send in the requiring document asap. They may put the two together and review without resetting your time. Of course that depends on how long ago you previously sent your documents in.

I'm sure you have looked at this but this is a good place to put your country's name in a find required documents.

Yes! I'm still glad I got a lawyer though. I've heard too many horror stories of things being filled out incorrectly and sent back multiple times causing major delays. I can barely cope with the "standard processing time" without any delays. I can't imagine if something I did incorrectly in the filing process caused it to be delayed even more!

This process has probably been one of the most difficult things I've ever done. I miss my husband so much every day and we're both so tired and worn out from being apart. It's stressful to try to maintain a long distance relationship, but I know it will be worth in the end when we're together. It's been 7 months and 4 days for me with no answer yet. I check the mail every day and I'm always hopeful, but nothing arrives. I pray a lot and try not to be discouraged. Good luck to everyone and to those who haven't received your NOA2.....we can do this together. The approval WILL arrive eventually.

Yep, I have the same problem. I've been told not to worry, that the electronic system has issues. (How is that supposed to make me not worry?)

You're probably right. I'm just going over everything to give me a reason to call USCIS and talk to a Tier 2 lol. Waiting for their call now. When you call and talk to the customer service reps they literally have NO idea what's going on. Their phone system still says the current status of my case is that it was transferred to Nebraska when my letter actually says it was transferred to Texas. Have you called their 1800 number and put in your case # to see if it says that as well? Maybe there's some weird problem. I think I'm just paranoid at this point. I'm all out of patience.

Does anyone happen to have their transfer notice handy? I just noticed that there are some discrepancies between my original receipt notice and the transfer notice. My original receipt notice says my receipt date is 9/23 and that my priority date is 9/23. The transfer notice says my receipt date is 9/27 and the priority date is completely blank. Anyone else notice any differences?

Good. I also wrote our lawyer to question it as well and this was their response.

    Hi Ms. Johnson,
Sometimes the dates do retrogress, so this is normal. Our best bet would be to wait for them. Sometimes USCIS will give us a date online but they are really working ahead of that. They just use that so there's no pressure on them.
    Thanks,
    Elizabeth

Ok I called USCIS and asked them about the date. Here's what she told me. That sometimes they have technical errors with their website with the dates and  try to have it fixed within 2-3 hours. So, I asked her if she'd ever actually seen that happen where the updated date was prior to the previous date and she said no. SO there's hope. I asked her if it doesn't change then what? She said to call back to USCIS to see if they have any updated information from that department but as of now they don't have any info on why the date is earlier.

It has been forever. We paid for a lawyer thinking that would be the best route and that they'd help make sure all the paperwork was correct the first go round. They originally told it would be about 5 months and now we are quickly approaching 7. It's very disheartening. I know everyone is in the same boat, but it's hard for me not to be jealous seeing the timelines of others and how they were received the same day, transferred to Texas from Nebraska the same day and they have an answer and we don't. I'm happy for everyone who is on to the next step in the process. I know it's case by case, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating.

Well, I just called as well. For some unknown reason their phone system tells me my case has been transferred to the office in Lincoln, Nebraska when my letter tells me that it was transferred to Texas. I called asking about it yesterday with no luck on a Tier 2 and called again today to ask and the lady immediately said since there are some discrepancies she was going to transfer me to a Tier 2. I'm expecting their call in only 208 minutes....Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze some extra information from them and get an answer on the status of our case. I need something to go on! I'm going nuts!

Did you get a letter in the mail?  If not, let them know your file was transferred and you'd like to know which office to have an idea of processing timelines specific to your case file location.

There's really nothing to do at this point until you hit that 6 month mark at which point it's time to escalate - e-request, tier 2 escalation. senator, ombudsman.

You just have to keep yourself busy. Keep your mind focused on more than the pain of the process. My wife is everything to me. We've been inseparable since we met 7 years ago up until this process (we were living abroad in sweden before this). I miss her every day.

Its been difficult finding the energy or enthusiasm to get out and be active and social, but its been essential in getting through it. I find running to be particularly helpful for dealing with the frustration and I've gotten back into some old hobbies to distract from the loneliness.

That is a total crock the transfer website tells you this....
*** If you do not receive a decision on your case within the published processing time for the new service center, you may submit an inquiry online or call the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 800-375-5283 (TYY 800-767-1833). When asking about your case status, please provide us with your receipt number and specify that your case was transferred to a new location.

so how are they just flat out lying about stuff??

I'm sure it does make a difference who you get, a bit like what SC you get too!  My wife is a lawyer and is used to speaking to judges and was very calm and not rude at all to the person she spoke to.  Same with the original person she got who was also very aggressive and hostile.  I think they just don't like it when you call them up on things and they don't have an answer for you.  Like when she was told our petition was sent to Nebraska for 'thorough processing' and she asked what that meant since there was nothing like criminal records in our file.  He didn't have an answer and got more defensive.  Just be honest and say you aren't up to it yet! How hard is that?  The only thing we could think of is they might take longer because it's a same sex petition but from the looks of it there are barely any September petitions that have been approved so probably not.  Except the Pilipino ones who seem to get processed within a couple of months (not sure what that is but anyway).
