Just flew back into town last night from attending my fiance's interview in Colombia.....  she was approved!!!!!!!!     
 
We started this journey, starting to fill out the I-129F, 8 months ago.  It's been quite a process, adventure, and journey.  Filled with ups and downs.  A process that has tested us, and has proved to each other our commitment and devotion.  All that dedication, that waiting, that stress, all of that separation, that heartbreak, all of that became worth it July 5th at about 9:45am. 
 
I just want to give a special thanks to all the January filers I've shared this journey with.  The only people in the world who truly understands what I am going thru is you guys.  Thank you everyone and I wish everyone good luck as well!!!
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

114 days since NOA1 we are finally APPROVED!!!!! 
 
After coming home from shopping for wedding bands I opened the mail and to my surprise our long-awaited NOA2 was sitting there. 
 
We are so overjoyed! 

You guys....
I just texted my dad to ask if I got any mail. He told me that I did get a letter and he opened it (he's been asking me about the process daily...) and...we were APPROVED! Finally after 140+ days (receive date Dec 19). I'm not sure what date the letter has listed on it, but my dad will send me a photo of the letter later and I will update my timeline. 
I'm with my fiancé in Morocco now and he was out at the store when I got the news. Tomorrow is my last day here with him so we will spend the rest of the day celebrating knowing it won't be too long now until we are together forever. Our case is still listed as received online.

Hi, Just got VISA approval today!!!!
 
So, follow the K1 guide on the site.  Wait 2 weeks after you got your NOA2 then call the NVC and ask for the "Case Number" (BGTXXXXXXX) and the "Invoice Number".  You will need these later in the process.  Then I went off script from the K1 guide.  Each Embassy is a bit different in their operations so this worked with Colombia Embassy but may not work at a different one.  I sent an email to the embassy IV, Bogota <IVBogota@state.gov>.  My fiance had moved since I had done the original i-129 so I wanted to give them the new address, because everything talked about them mailing you the packages, etc.  Well they replied back in a couple of days asking me for her email address and they would send EVERYTHING to her via email....  SCORE!  So they sent all of the information, including scan copies of my approved i129 (you need it for the interview.).  I have attached the instruction packet they sent for you.  This gives you all the info you need.
 
You can go to the Embassy website and complete the DS160 for her and any of her children then you will get an email with the confirmation of the and the actual DS160#  AAXXXXX.  Side note, DS260 is for the I1VISA, NOT the K1 VISA.  Make sure you are filling out the DS160.  When you call the embassy, you will need to give them the case number and the DS160 confirmation number for each of them (if she has kids).  Then they will send you to the automated payment system to make your payment via credit card.  You will get an email with the payment receipt.  Then call back in and talk to the scheduler.  You will schedule 2 appointments.  The first one is for the Bio metrics (fingerprinting) and the second is for the interview itself at the Embassy.  These can be done within a week to a day of each other.  
 
The medical examines you have to be setup directly with the doctors.  Find the doctors listed at the bottom of the instructions packet I attached.  After the doctors appointment itself, she will have to return to the doctor 3-4 days later to get the results and the paperwork to take to the interview.  If she has children, they will need to undergo a TB test as well.  In all I spent around $600 USD just in the medical tests.  Have these done 1-2 weeks before the interview.
 
The appoint went very smooth today, because we had all of the paperwork done and organized.  For us as the petitioner, we have to sign the affidavid of support and include our last year tax returns, w-2 and 12 months of paystubs.  That was a hassle to put together, but once I had it, it was no problem.

After many sleepless nights finally we got the approval 😍 
I would like to thank each one of you that kind and "silent" support what you gave me along the way. 
 
The question "what's up with your visa?" became my most hated questions ever. 😃 I'm sure you know the feeling when you have to answer it 5 gajillilion times to friends family or colleagues, and the answer is "still nothing". This question, and the unspoken expectations attached to it just increased my frustration day after day.
 
This community helped me so much to release some of the stress what this process gave me and I really appreciate it!
 
I wish you good luck for the next couple weeks, that demonic crazy stupid date is coming!!!!

OMG we just got approved !!! After 105 days since received date. It's 3:30 am in France right now, and I'm tearing up, I don't think I'm gonna be able to sleep tonight !!

Was talking to my fiancee on the phone and we hung up to eat dinner.  I decided to check before cooking, and saw that we were approved.  I called her back right away and we were both so happy.  We already had a visit planned--I'm going to see her and her daughter for a week starting this Saturday--so, this was great start to our upcoming time together.
 
Good luck to all of those still waiting, and congratulations to everyone who got updates.  Though I haven't posted much, I've enjoyed reading everyone's stories and their posts when they get approved.  Reading the excitement of others since I have found this site had made the waiting a little better, knowing that that was the feeling that I had been waiting for, too.
 
Now that this part of waiting is over, I'm looking forward to spending a week with the ones that I love, then moving on to the next step of the process.

Wow that is so cool reading your comments. Yes the site has been a tremendous help to all of us while we are waiting on the fence.
 
You and your loved one are very deserving of this and received just in time for your next visit. Enjoy your time together and make sure you never forget these tough times that we will all look back on when we are finally united with the ones we love so much.

I'm also going to Colombia this weekend to see my fiance!    Friday night flying out of Miami.  Where abouts in Colombia do you go?  My fiance lives right there in Bogota.  City of 9 million people and terrible traffic.

She lives in Bogota as well.  I'm flying out of Atlanta on Saturday.  And you're right about the traffic--that's one of the things that she says she won't miss, haha.  I know it takes her forever to get places, and the whole time we're travelling around the city, I just keep thinking that there's no way I could handle that traffic while driving, haha.

my dreams came true! My fiancé got here yesterday to visit and this morning we got APPROVED. Received Jan 17th. After 99 days!

Case was just approved tonight.. So so happy.. 

As the USCIS begins to fall farther behind (based on increasing timeline averages), and many of us January filers continue to wait, the only spec of good news right now is that it is Monday and starting tonight a new wave of approvals will start pouring in and continue each night for the next 5 days.  I wish everyone good luck today as we kick of the new week waiting for our turn to end the agonizing and torturous USCIS process and begin the much speedier Department of State process.

APPROVEDDDDDDDDDDDDD! I can't stop crying!!!!

Hello, there.  Hopefully we'll both get good news soon.
 
I'm excited that they're starting to touch our date and hoping that we receive news soon, but at the same time feel for those with earlier dates that still haven't heard anything.  Especially when reading the December thread (or even some still left from November).  It really does seem like a random process at times. 

We were approved 5 minutes ago!!!!!! My fiancé is texting me now but I'm going to wait until he gets home so I can tell him on video chat. I received the notification via the Case Tracker. I have the USCIS app as well but it only updated after I opened the app. I can't stop thanking God enough!! I pray that others will get their approval soon as well. I checked and others who were received on Jan 19 were approved today alsol. 

I decided to check right after midnight, and to my amazement we were approved!!! 
 
Strange, as I checked around 7pm pacific and it did not say approved. I am over the moon happy and relieved. Best of luck fellow January filers, hope you all get the approval very soon!
