    Details of Lagos Interview on 2/7/07

    David's interview was 2-7-07. He arrived early and was called at about 10am. He said the woman who interviewed him was 30ish and white. He said she stared him up and down but was very kind to him. He said she asked only a few questions such as ... How and when did you meet? What does she do for a living? Did you know she was married before back in 1993? When did she come to Nigeria? Then she asked to see the pics of my visit to Nigeria. He said he looked her in the eyes and answered all questions and she told him to come back on Monday for the visa and congratulated him. He said he nearly fainted because he was at her window for less than 2 minutes. She never asked for phone bills, letters etc...

    As a side note I want to say that this interview doesn't sound typical of what even I have read on VJ. I think David was fortunate and also well preparted and well organized, but perhaps the interviewer was busy or preoccupied...at any rate...he picked the visa on Monday and is on his way home to me!

    I am so sorry this is happening. It can in interracial relationships I think because it happened to me once. I would be OK with the wig if he appreciated your natural hair. I think a person should be loved for who they are inside. I would like to think he fell in love with the person you are and not your looks. True, I believe its important to look your best and to keep yourself up nice for yourself as well as your husband. But you are sacrificing your happiness and your comfort to appease him. I think you should go all natural and ditch the wig...get some twisties or a straw set and be yourself! He should be in love with you not your hair.

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! OLUCHARLES GOT HIS OWN VISA APPROVAL TODAY AS WELL. YOU ARE AT THE CONSULATE TOGETHER FEB 7TH TODAY. ALL THE BEST GUYS AND HAPPY REUNION.

    I am so happy to hear this. I wondered about Charles and Renee! I am happy to hear they will be reunited as well. Thanks to all of you for your well wishes and for the support and great advice you've given me over the last 8 months.

    I just got off the phone with David! He is through with the interview and he was asked to come pick the Visa on Monday morning! I am so excited, relieved and happy it's ridiculous...In fact, I was asleep when he called so I had to convince myself I was not dreaming all of this!

    All of our hard work and time apart has finally paid off...we will be reunited soon! :luv:

    I would do this all over again; except this time I'd bring my own toilet paper to Africa with me! ;)

    We are getting marry in June. I live in London, my fiance live in DC. We are assembling the package for submission. Anyone know how long does it take to apply to the USCIS and how long does it take to the US consular in London?

    Hey VJers, Tomorrow is interview day for Robin and Chika.

    Robin, All of us in the forum wish Chika the most stress free and smoothest interview tomorrow! You are definitely in our prayers tonite!

    It might serve you better to search and see what happened when people did/did not turn up for the so called cancelled interview -just sayin' :rolleyes:

    The interview that was cancelled was for Nov 6th??? Yet you are only asking about this on Jan 23rd? Am I missing something here?

    Seriously the only person you should be concerned with is YOU and a quick search will reveal that you should not necessarily take notice of the cancellation.

    Well, im just asking if the reason same like mine because untill now i haven't heard back from USCIS, not even received an update online!!! thats all

    Actually inviting you to use the search facility is a big help you just do not seem to be capable of understanding that simple point.

    But you are correct I can't help those who won't help themselves!

    Good luck with finding out what taking responsibility for your own life means, rather than waiting for 2 months to ask an Internet forum what to about it :thumbs:

    There have been numerous posts on this subject which one of them failed to answer your question? :rolleyes:
