Oh great, can you let me know which Month forum did you post it on?

    Thanks a lot!!

I just bumped at your messsge At November 2016 fillers thread posted on 7 August saying that you received a notice for I 751 interview however there is no reply from you on questions that other VJ's asked such as which office you filed and what have you submitted originally since you January 2016 filler and that is very interesting timing vise. Would you be able to let us know if you did had your 7-751 interview / how did it went / which office you filled in? Thank you

    Original post:

    Hi everyone,

I am from the January 2017 filers group and I just got a letter in my mail today for the i-751 interview. Doesn't provide much information just gives a date and time for the interview and asks me to bring along my spouse, my conditional green card, the letter, ID, proof of bonafide marriage and 2 passport size photographs. Anyone else gotten the same letter or know what the interview process is like?

    You are wrong.

Generally speaking petitions are reviewed and coded A B or C. A is good application with tons of proof and approvable. B is mostly good application- decent amount of proof, no major issues. C is something is off.

All C's get an interview. A percentage of A's and Bs get interviews as well for quality control purposes.

I don't see how this is different from what I said, except that a strong petition might end up getting interview as a random check. But percentage of random checks I'm sure MUCH less than applications coded C - with lack of evidence. And again, every time I see someone got RFE -there is something missing.

just recently a friend of mine got RFE because he submitted: old and expired lease, 2 fpl bills, pictures, 1 affidavit. Replied on RFE with only new lease. Called in for an interview, asked simple questions, got a GC.

Another friend of mine got a green card based on divorce waiver without RFE or interview because she prepared a strong package of evidences with layer.

So I still believe that as long as you have enough of evidences, ROC should not be a rocky road to anyone.

    This is very inaccurate.

I am sure that was a Law & Order SVU episode.....

    DUN DUH

Which part is not accurate? if you have enough of evidence of good faith marriage, they simply send you a GC. I follow different ROC threads here and also based on experience of my friends, I'm confident they don't send you for an interview without a reason ( lack of ducuments in this case) correct me if I'm wrong

I think you just need to move on for your happiness. Stuff happens in life sometimes you can't control. The only thing I know for sure that she only has a conditional green card which is valid for only 2 years from the time that the government issued. After that, USCIS will send the letter to get the evidence that you guys still live together before granting a permanent GC. If you do not appear in front of the officer and can't provide supporting document that you two live together, that foreign person can be deported. The reason I know this because I used to be in the same boat as a foreign spouse. We did turn in the evidence first before they called us for interview. There were some people I know that failed the interview because they divorced before removing condition to move on with new person or they did not live together. So the conditional GC person got denial and waited for deportation. One girl from my country was deported.

So if you know that your intention is good, then do not have to think and get bitter because what goes around comes around. But if she can support the evidence that you abuse her or do wrongly to her, then you lose your ground in this battle.

Just keep positive thinking and you will have a wonderful life one day with a wonderful woman who truly love you.

    I agree with you.

Well, I'm not agree about ROC process. If you still married AND submitted enough of evidence during those 2 conditional years, there is no interview. If there is something missing, there is RFE and still no interview if adjudicator is satisfied. If you both go to an interview - that usually means the evidence submitted was really weak.

As for failing the interview based on divorce - again, in such case the evidence that marriage entered in good faith should be extremely thin. Probably the people you know (or heard) who's been deported did not had ANY sufficient proof at all? Because Roc is fairy easy process if you prepared.

If you have moved you really need to change your address, file an Ar11 online pluse an i865 Sponsor notice of change of address. The AR11 did not work for me online, so I rang them and then filled in a manual form.  I also made sure both forms the ar11 and the i865 were tracked and obtained a receipt.  As for USPS https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action . It tells you what mail you have coming to you before you get it. Unfortunately, they don't show items from your old address, however if you change your address any correspondence from USCIS should go there.  It just gives you a heads up if there is something from the USCIS in your mail before you receive, as they scan the mail and send you pictures of what to expect in the mail.

Either it goes into the new resident's mailbox and you ask for the card from them, or the mailman will see a different name on the box, take it back to the post office and since you already know it was meant to arrive that day, you can contact the post office so you can manually retrieve the mail piece before it goes back to USPS.

Honestly I'm not sure what to do about the address change because we temporarily staying with a friends and currently in doubt either to rent another apt for a year or jump into mortgage and purchase the house. I'm afraid if I change address now for a friends house, then soon after to another one - I simply will cause RFE. You guys think if I just do mail forwarding at USPS and enrol in Informed delivery, it would be enough to get my mail without changing my address on USICS multiple times? or it's more likely that my mail will still go to the old adress and gets send back to USICS no matter what? So confused

Hi, I'm sorry but I think the post is relevant. I'm sure most of us waiting to hear back on the I-751 are almost ready to submit N-400 applications and this is one of the items we'll have to fill out. Thought it's more relevant here because we're the only ones who have to wait 3 years to apply unlike the general N-400 pool that has to wait for 5 years.

N 400 is not relevant to I 751 because it's 2 different processes. A lot of ppl choose not to file n400 because there has been information from different sources that it might delay the whole process, or other reasons. In this thread we only discussing ROC, but not questions about filling out n400 form. Besides, the questions on form about leaving the country is the same no matter when you file in 3 or 5 years, so please post in appropriate threads. Thank you

Hey guys, asking here since I assume some of you already started filling in your N400 applications. I noticed there's a place where it asks you to write the total number of days spend outside the USA during the last 5 years.

For those of us who have only been in the USA for the last 3 years (naturalization after marriage), writing down the complete dates will make it seem as if we were out of the country for 2 whole years :S Isn't that bad or something? Should we only put down travel dates from the day we became residents onwards?

Hi, sorry but it's totally out of topic. We discussing ROC in this thread, I think you'll get a better help at n400 threads.

Depends where you live to where you filed. Cant tell you where you filed as I don't know where you live. You shouldn't expect to hear anything until the 12 month mark, if you do you're either going for interview, have an RFE or just one of the very, very lucky ones.  If you are unlucky to file for CSC its around 13 to 14 months wait right now, sometimes more some times less. With VSC around 11 months to a year.

I filed in Feb and like you nothing since biometrics, even though I have changed address since

As I say in everything post lately though its subject to change, who knows if CSC will play catch up and VSC start dragging their feet again.  One thing I have done which is invaluable is sign up for Informed Delivery by USPS. That way if the USCIS write to me and they have with my change of address, I don't miss a RFE or interview letter, or approval or such.

Good luck with your approval, I hope it comes to you quickly and without any hassle. Oh and don't worry about the same sex marriage, I know a few people who are and have had no problem and they most certainly will NOT revoke your GC unless you did something really stupid.  It's easy for me to say that, but I think your wife is fretting unnecessarily!

Hi! I saw your post right in time. I'm about to change address myself, but a little worry because of all the mess with a system, I'm afraid to loose important mail. How exactly Informed delivery by USPS works? I know for sure that the government mail such as USICS won't go to my new address if I simply do a mail forwarding through USPS because they don't forward such mails. Can you please explain what is informed delivery and how would it help in such case?

Hey, congratulations! How are you guys checking your status? There are two application numbers on my receipt, one is for I751 and the other  one is for CRI89. The case status for the i751 says "Validation error. My Case Status does not recognize the receipt number entered." the other one says "Fees were waived". Am I doing something wrong?

    Appreciate the help!

The right number goes for a status "fees were waived". A lot of ppl here have the same problem, me includingly. It's a glitch at the system and I don't think that would change. I guess we just have to wait news in a mailbox

Hi! Which service center did you filed?

Also, have you submitted enough of proof of bonafide marriage?

I think a couple months ago they were processing May 29 2016 applications, now they're on June 7 2016. Months for them to process a weeks worth of applications. Pretty crazy

Wow basically that makes a year long wait to hear back from USCIS for i752 as of current proceeding time. So if we filed in December 2016 we should only expect news by December 2017? Based on timeline when I was filing I though the worst case it would be October 2017...and now seems like December? 🤔

Ok, here's the update.  Katya came home yesterday traveling from Krasnoyarsk Russia through Beijing to Detroit (POE).  She told me that when checking into her Detroit flight in Beijing she had no issues and the airline (Delta) workers were very familiar with the extension letter, and she was checked in with no problems or delays except to verify the paperwork.  Upon arrival in Detroit, she could not use the self serve kiosk, but was sent to a different line where the CBP officer reviewed the extension letter along with her expired GC, and she was let in with no secondary visit.  All told, from the time of landing until she was through, it may have taken about 20 minutes with most of the time waiting for her bag after immigration.  She did have her bag scanned prior to exit, but she thought it was random, and they only scanned it, they did not search it.

All told, pretty much the same as one of her regular entires with her unexpired GC.

    Good Luck!

Wonderful! Thank you so much for update! :)

I will let you know in a couple of weeks as my wife is currently visiting her mother and her conditional GC actually expires today.  Of course she has the extension letter, but both of us are a little nervous that she may get additional scrutiny with her next arrival.  We shall see.

    Thank you please do

i called CBP today and was told expired GC plus extention letter is good to enter, no stamp needed.

I also called Russian airlines, and been told they have no information about this. Was adviced to call airport hotline instead, which doesent make any Sence.

Thanks for starting this topic.  The wife is heading back to Russia for a few weeks and her GC will expire while she is abroad.  We already have the extension letter, so I will tell her to make sure she points out the extension letter when she travels back via Beijing.

    Safe Travels!

Hi! Just wonder, how did it go for you wife? I'm traveling to Russia soon with the same situation, a little worried if people from aeriflot( Russian airlines) aware of such extention letter

The online status thing is a glitch and it's very unreliable in many situations. You should take it with a grain of salt. You're still a Lawful Permanent Resident until your I-751 is adjudicated and you are of course free to travel. Just a very small number of airlines might be unfamiliar with it, however; it's easily resolved. CBP officers are quite familiar with those documents so nothing to worry about.

    Thank you!

  16. Hi guys! I was looking through the threads, but decided to crest a new one so we can share experiences on traveling while case is pending ( ROC) under new immigration policies in 2017.

As I understand, the problem with admission can be for people from banned countries, but also any other travelers are now facing much tougher approach upon arrival in US which makes me worry about the idea of traveling with a pending case ( even through from my understanding, traveling with passport + expired GC+ extention letter should be fine)

So I wanted to ask around people to share their RECENT travel experience, I'm getting anxious and wanted to clarify if it's safe or risky under current situation.

    Thsnk you
