  1. Weirdest thing just happened! After hearing nothing since July 11th (when they reused my fingerprints) I finally cracked and tried to call USCIS for answers. At 1:07pm I called them and went through the automated phone for a case status update, then they hung up on me and I couldn't speak to an operator. One hour later I received an update that my card was being produced! ####### lol. Anyway, it's finally happening. Coincidence or not, worth trying. All the best everyone!

JulesOz, as you know same here with me and it is very frustrating to see so many cases filed after us getting approved. I’m on this Facebook Group and every day people that filed in 2020 (not even 2019) getting approvals from all centers.
    this is so not fair

In same FB group I started hearing that people that filed in 2019 are now getting RFEs to get evidence for end of 2019 and 2020:.. like seriously, uscis!?
so maybe in this case it is worth just applying for Naturalization and attach more proofs so they don’t send an RFE for I-751.

Wow, can you imagine waiting all this time and then getting a RFE?! That would be so annoying! Also, what Facebook group is it? I'd like to join. Cheers.

Finally!!! Wac290044xxx. Filed late December. Reused fingerprints in July and approved today. Good luck everyone. No interview had one for i485. Married to a usc. Took our newborns to interview back in 2018/19 lol

Congrats! That's awesome. Good to hear more and more WAC people getting theirs processed. I'm the same, filed late Dec, mid-July they reused the fingerprints, but still no luck. Weird because I'm 43***, which would assume mine was first processed before your 44***. But it's the USCIS, so I don't know if anything makes sense haha.

Hi EvgeniaM and JulesOz - appreciate your answers. I'll definitely do that and keep you updated. It is definitely one step closer to GC. Are you guys planning on submitting N400 or you prefer to wait on GC? Thank you!

I think I'll wait to get the GC before worrying about N400. It's already enough of a sh*t show going through this process. I'm also in no rush to naturalize.

EvgeniaM, our case is so similar to yours, from Bay and our case is in Phoenix I believe, we filed couple of weeks after you, and still no update, just an extension letter, not even fingerprints were applied. Also thinking about n400 until permanent gc is approved

EvgeniaM and I are in a very similar timeline. Both Bay Area and with the California SC. Filed end of December and received notice, but nothing until mid July when our case got updated to say fingerprints were taken (even though I didn't go in). Upon her recommendation I reached out to USCIS and inquired about the lack of information regarding my fingerprints and they assigned someone to investigate. A few weeks later, they just used the old fingerprints and my case was updated. Haven't received any new info since, but it's one step closer to this illusive GC. Maybe give that a shot to at least get the fingerprint situation sorted. Good luck!

    Hi everyone,

I just got a text saying there is an update to my case and that i should check the status online. I went and checked and it shows

"As of July 11, 2020, fingerprints relating to your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number WAC209******, have been applied to your case."

So thats great news! I am wondering if my call to USCIS a month ago did a thing and put my case on the radar, since i know some people are still waiting for any updates. I have a friend who filed a few months before me from the same geo area and she is still waiting.

Fellow California Center here and had the same message on July 11th. An early birthday present for Sunday for me :)

Over a month after filing, still no biometric letter. Is it more normal to get one or to not get one? What is it based on?

Seems like us California folk are in the long game. Everyone seemed to have got theirs within a month, but no WAC have received them from December yet (from what it appears). We're both in the Bay Area, keep me posted if you get any news. Otherwise we continue the wait...

Hi December fliers, I just received my biometric appointment letter today 01/31/2020. Appointment date is on 02/10/2020. My case is at Texas service center and my case number is SRC........

Ahh I saw California in your bio and got excited. Looks like anyone with WAC is going to be waiting a lot longer than other service centers. California is always the slowest unfortunately. Pain in the ### really cause with a 10 day turn around from letter to appointment you can't really go anywhere far. Not a problem for most people, but when you work in travel like I do, it presents a problem.

I sent the petition on dec 6; delivered on dec 11.

    NOA issued on dec 13.

Cash checked clear on dec 16.

    Biometric letter Jan 3.

    Biometric appt Jan 13.

So I did the biometric yesterday. The website has not been updated yet.

I filed one month after my opening window. My green card expires on Feb 8 2020.

    Vermont service center.

Thanks! Seems like a few people are getting quick turn around times for their biometrics. Mine was delivered 23rd, NOA 26th, so hoping to find out soon. Too bad the timing has me in Canada for a couple of months, so I'm going to have to fly down to San Francisco to do it once I get my dates :(

  10. Hey fellow December filers! Great to have a thread with us all together 😀

My Green Card expires 03/01/20 and I sent off the package December 21st to AZ. It was received December 23rd, a notice issued December 26th and I received the NOA in the mail on the 29th, a text on the 30th and the check was cashed on the 30th. Bring on the wait!

Bay Area resident with California Service Center. Hoping I don't get biometrics again as we're planning a trip through Canada soon!

  11. I just spoke with a USCIS official about my upcoming appointment (finally got my date, but it's at a very inconvenient date/time). They said that the only way to do so was if there were circumstances beyond your control (illness, hospitalization, death in family). It didn't sound like you can simply choose to reschedule, but I'd love to know others experience. The lady helping me was a little slow and didn't seem very clued on to the correct information.

  12. Hey everyone,

I know there are a few topics on this already, but the info I've found is either dated or conflicting. Does anyone have any current information on the ability to travel outside the US for extended periods of time after receiving Advanced Parole, but while still waiting for a greeencard? I've been in the US for 4 months now, having applied for a AOS (April 6th) after getting married. Hopefully my AP comes in the next few weeks as I need to travel outside the US for work. I understand the whole purpose of AP is to allow travel, but is this going to an issue if I stay outside the US for an extended period of time? How long can I be out for?

Additionally, as I travel frequently for work, once I receive my greencard, is there a certain amount of time that I need to prove I've 'lived' inside the US to remove the conditions after 2 years?

Thanks a lot in advance for the assistance.

  13. Hi everyone, hoping for some help with our situation:

My wife's parents are joint sponsoring me for my AOS. We are filing out the I-864 for my wife and then doing a separate I-864 for her mom and an I-864a for her dad who is part of the household. Her parents are self-employed and work together, filing a joint income tax return. My question is, under the income for her mother, do we state the entire yearly income between the two of them? If so, what do we put for her father's income?

Also, we are currently living with them at the same physical address, but my wife is considered part of her own household for tax purposes. On the I-864 it says: If you have siblings, parents, or adult children with the same principal residence who are combining their income with yours by submitting Form I-864A, enter the number here" Does that mean I can simply have her mom fill out the I-864a instead of an I-864?

Thanks in advance for any help!

  14. Hey VJ Community,

After a couple of weeks putting together my AOS package I'm almost ready to submit. One final question that might seem simple. When USCIS asks for copies of your birth certificate, passport, etc, do you sign and date those copies as well? I know people recommend to label, sign and date any supplement information/evidence, but do you need to do the same with copies?

Interested to hear what other know from experience :) Thanks in advance!

Hi looking through your file, do you have to secure police clearance in the usa since you live there more than 6 mos? same case with mine since , I had been on F1 status for more than 6 mos, I am still confused if I should secure for a police clearance since it is part of the requirements to pass during the interview. what do you guys think?

From what I believe police clearances are only required if you're filing for special class. It's in the instructions on Page 3 under 'Initial Evidence'. As for the 6 months, I've not heard of that. I haven't been here for that long continuously. Only ever less than 3 months as per the visa waiver requirement.

    Good luck :)

FBI records will show all arrest, from 50 years ago, even if you where not found guilty, just when the cops say  "you are under arrest" will be in the FBI records. Just apply for a Concealed weapons license, you will find out quick.

And the FBI have access to all the records all over the world? I'm inquiring about records in my home country of Australia. Regardless, I think the overall consensus is disclose, which intend to do. Thanks
