So I feel like the question of why the the service centers are suddenly processing so slowly is fairly clear. Remember in 2014 when there was the huge backlog at the NVC that delayed all of our i-130 approvals by months? This was caused by the NVC being inundated with immigrant visa cases from USCIS, as USCIS shifted its workload to focus on the backlog of stand-alone I-130 cases. The NVC used to receive approximately 8,000 cases per week. As USCIS continued to dig out of ITS backlog, the NVC began receiving around 25,000 cases per week.
You guys remember, we all sat around on Visa Journey pondering (bitching/complaining/crying) about why is was taking 11-15 months to approve us instead of the 6-10 months we were told it should take. Yeah, well 24 months later we all filed or ROC's and they are experiencing that same sudden backlog with the same people all filing the same papers at the same time. It makes since when you think about it.
I don't think it's about the backlog or whatsoever.. It must be some other reason.. None of what you said makes ANY sense whatsoever with all due respect..

I've just called USCIS and asked: "Sir, can you tell me why now it takes more than a year to process I-751 while just half a year ago it took only 5-6 months?". And he said this is because they received 3 times as more applications during pre-election period since people tried to do it before a new president gets elected. However, it makes no sense to me for 2 reasons: 1. Everyone was sure that Clinton would win so they were not supposed to worry about Trump. 2. How is it possible for application filing to fluctuate if you must file exactly during a period of 3 months preceding the expiration date on your GC. If you have to file from June 1st to August 31st, then you file from June 1st to August 31st and you have no choice. I can say exactly that delays started from applications filed in April 2016. It means, if to believe his words, people who could file from April 1st to July 1st of 2016, suddenly realized that Trump may win and kick out everyone. So June, May and April filers all filed in April and then July, June and May filers all filed in May and so on and so forth. Also I asked: "Sir, so do you mean that this is not because they now look into each case very closely and call everyone for interview?." And he said no. Does it sound reasonable to you?
This's interesting!! I agree with you about not buying the excuse that all applicants surged to file before Trump getting in the oval office. But none of this makes any sense whatsoever.. It's just absurd!! I've been following the processing times and as everyone knows it's almost like things were great up to May 2017, then all of the sudden things started to go slow like really slow.. Every 2 weeks they used to update their processing times and almost finish a month or 6 weeks ahead. Now, every update doesn't even include any advancement in I-751 times.. What a joke..

Hey guys,
Just checked the CSC webpage! Looks like they updated the processing time! Now they're processing I-751 as of June 7th 2016 filers!
Which means we've got 8-10 weeks or so to hear back about our cases according to my calculations =)
Alright, now to the fun stuff: Monte Carlo Masters is happening now! (April 14- 22 )
Round 32 is almost over, the question on everyone's mind: Will Rafa make it to the final and win his 10th title for this tournament??!!
Vamos Rafaaa!!! =)
Oh almost forgot to mention Champions League Games today!! Barca didnt make the comeback again today against Juventus!! : / It was very physical game, Juve didn't let Messi breathe!! It was absolutely defensive game from the old lady team.. Anyway, having always been a fan of the underdog, I am glad Juventus made it to the Semi's!!
So now we've got: R. Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Monaco and Juventus
Ohh I can't wait to see the draw on Friday!!
Alright, I want the semi finals to be as the following:
Real Madrid vs Monaco
Atletico Madrid vs Juventus OMG this would be an epic game you guys!!
Cheers

I'm traveling with my husband and 4 other US citizens for a group vacation. We are going to Jamaica and Mexico, so I'm a little worried that they won't understand the letter.
We live in AZ and there are many Border Patrol Checkpoints, and several times when visiting on the 'Visa Waiver' I was asked to produce a Visa... And when I said 'I don't need a visa, I'm traveling on the Visa Waiver, the agents would look immediately concerned, and didn't understand that I didn't need a visa! While I never had any major issues, it was obvious that they weren't familiar with that side of immigration.
A valid GC is very common and easy to identify... But I don't know how often they see these extension letters, and it's got me a little worried... Especially with the executive order, as you say... ?
Take it easy!! there are always some employees who are never familiar with some documents or letters.. that's how life is on this planet! plain and simple!! get over it guys!!
everyone is freakin out!!! calm the heck down you guys!! aight??!!! cool
I would act confident and calm when travelling cause SIMPLY your papers are legal and no need to be concerned or freak out or anything!!
The moment you act worried and panic, they will suspect you!! so be confident and chill!! Plain and simple guys!!
Cheers

Me too ?
I've been told to carry my expired GC and the original extension letter from USCIS (and of course my passport and second license) for travel. Does anybody have any other advice for traveling while in limbo with this? I'm a little uncomfortable with it too. Thanks ?
