Thank you! Just a lengthy process for me, almost 2 years now with USCIS and will have to wait another half year. I lived in Malaysia before and to get police certificate we need to apply everything online through system and ask Malaysian Embassy to print it. Since I am far from capital city, we asked Malaysian Embassy in DC to print it since my husband can get there easy. Have anyone of you heard about appealing a document that is actually already correct?

For sure its a worth trying. There is nothing you can lose. If you are sure that thats the one and only original document you can get- you should contact them either through an official email or some type of a complaint and tell them the this is the only valid document at this point. I understand everything, trust me, I have been there- for me just for the I-130 process it too me almost a year( 11 months) and we are not even close being done. Good luck

I got DQ'd but also a message indicating that I need a joint sponsor...
"This case does not meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrants. To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Support Form I-864 from a joint sponsor may be submitted. For more information visit https://nvc.state.gov/aos. The consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement at the time of the interview. For more information, please visit https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p."

Do I need to submit the new joint sponsor documents online or just bring the joint sponsor documents to the consulate interview?

Just hoping they aren't holding off scheduling an interview date (after the mentioned I was DQed) until I submit a joint sponsor online

I am just gonna say what i think. If I use my logic- if they already DQ-ed you, that means that you are moving to the next step- scheduling an interview in your local embassy. From my point of view, if they already approved you, that means that you need to bring the joint sponsor documents at the interview.

I am sure that many people who already experienced this, can give you an advice on what should you do. Good luck!

I also sent in my W2 which included unemployment benefits. They accepted the paperwork and stated that I may need a co-sponsor and it is up to the discretion of the officer that interviews my spouse. I have seen on the forums that as long as you can provide 6 months of paystubs of your current job, they tend to accept it wothout the co-sponsor.

I was overthinking and being afraid that even though we were going through tough times with covid and losing jobs-  if they see the 1099- unemployment benefits, will ring a red flag.  With my 2020 W2 +1099 - I was over the poverty line ( not too much but my income was around $24k), thats why I added a proof of assets( my saving account with money on it). As an addition to it- I added a letter from my employer saying that I was re-employed with the  restart date and an hour pay+ the most recent pay stubs from my job. So now, I dont even know what to expect. Btw, Thanks for the reply!

  4. HI guys, Do you guys know if they approve cases when the petitioner have a combination of W2 and 1099(unemployment benefits)? Because of the Covid- I temporary was unemployed- but when I filed taxes I was still over the poverty line. Now i am re-employed back with the same employer and sent a letter plus the most current pay stubs. As well, I uploaded a saving account as a proof of assets. I am freaking put cause I dont know if that is gonna be enough.
