  1. UPDATE - The website didn't contact us, so we called the USCIS phone number during the 2nd week of April.  The agent on the other end gave us the opportunity to be expedited and have our phone call be discussed with an immigration officer and the estimated wait time to be called back was under 4 hours.   Then at the one moment I was in the bathroom, my husband hands the phone to me and said that I missed the call.  I was like WHAT?  I basically missed the immigration officer's call and heard on my voicemail, "Leave a message to press 1 to connect to the immigration officer".  I was so frantic that I called the USCIS immediately and when I finally got through to an agent explained that we were waiting for the immigration officer to call.  I wasn't sure at that moment if we would be able to be transferred, but then at that moment my call-waiting signal went off and I excused myself from the agent and was able to catch the machine in time to press 1 to talk to the immigration officer!!!  We found out that they had sent the biometrics appointment notification in the mail and it got sent back in December 2017??? We verified that we were at the same address and then the immigration officer scheduled us for a biometrics appointment for 4-18-18.  The biometrics appointment took about 5 minutes.  Finally we got the EAD card today!    Thank you so much @MariekeH and @TexasHeartsIndia - it pays to follow up and make sure you are diligent with USCIS.

  2. Yes, I was using egov.uscis.gov - Thanks  @MariekeH for the heads up for the other website. I just logged into the myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov and submitted a status request and it said to expect a response by April 10, 2018.  @TexasHeartsIndia, I will also try to call the USCIS hotline to follow up as well.

Thanks so much for replying!  My husband and I were quite concerned so we appreciate hearing about your experiences.

  3. Hello all - We've been pulling up old posts (from 2016 and earlier) whenever searching for the EAD Approval Notice to receiving the card in the mail and hope someone could give a current answer.  Any people who have received their EAD card in 2018, how long did it take for you to receive it after you received your approval notice in the mail?  I've learned from experience that the website to check status does not always match the reality.  We've received both the EAD and AP notices in the mail, but the website is only showing our current status information from 11/14/2017 that they received our application.  Have people been experiencing the 120 day wait time that it says on the website or has it been longer in 2018?  The previous years showed people got their cards within 2 weeks of the notice, so not sure if it is different in 2018. We just want to make sure the card did not get lost in the mail.  The notice itself said approval on 1/31/18, but we received the mail approval notice in 2/14/18.

  4. @Sherry/Robert and @Jaimekr8 - I've been quietly reading your posts and am very thankful we have followed your threads and made note of the processing times here in VJ.  I think we may have waited to hear back about scheduling the interview so your encouragement to stay on top of it was very helpful as it also helped monitor our processing time better.

Having Visa Journey has helped a bunch -  We want to thank you very much as today my sweetheart had his Sydney embassy interview and we just got approved!

    :D
