  1. I got an email regarding I-129f application:

"On October 23, 2006, we transferred your I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) to an office in VERMONT SERVICE CENTER for processing. Our office in VERMONT SERVICE CENTER will send you a written decision as soon as processing is complete. You should receive a notice informing you that your case has been transferred to a local office."

Why is it being sent to the VSC? I thought that the chicago center processes the application and sends it to NVC.

I had the same thing happen to me on Oct 23 too! Except that mine was transferred to the California Service Center...

I have the similar case dude! What should we do next? call them?

I tried to call them from Canada but the 1800 doesn't work in Canada and my husband is away for business and won't be back until end of the week next week! I called my lawyer and he told me that it's actually quite 'normal' for them transfer cases. He said the processing centers are split into two and b/c we live in California, we got transferred to California. I guess since you're in MA, you went to Vermont cause it's east coast?? I guess we really dont have a choice if they do this to us but I just dont want them to confuse my K-3 and think it's a K-1 and ship it to CSC.. Can you imagine how further behind we'll be?? ahhhhh

Also, people who responded to my post in the Canada forum said that it's actually good news that I got moved from 1 center to another... but I wish I can be like the rest of the K3 filers who got approved without being transferred!

    :o

  3. From my reading on VJ, they usually transfer cases when one support centre is backlogged. So usually people seem to happy when there case is transferred from 1 centre to another.

Yes! That happened to me too. My case was transferred to California. Yesterday in the mail I got the official notice telling me they had sent it to California saying...........to speed up processing we have transfered your case to the California Service Center etc...... I'm thinking it can only be a good thing.

O really? If it's gonna be faster, that'll be great... the one thing I was worried about is they confused my K3 case and thought it was a K1 case!! I hope they're not that silly!!?? =O

Ok, just crossing my fingers... I think I'm worried so much I'm startiing to get sick.. I have a sore throat and a very stuffy nose... flu season! ahhhh

There is a Chinese saying that goes like this: "living days as if they feel like years" and I'm really feeling this way right now.. sigh... oh well...

    ALSO,

I logged into the USCIS website and noted that my I129F, petition no longer says I-129F, petition for spouse.. i'm so worried.. what should i do?? I called the 1-800 number and I can't get through because I'm in Canada (The 1800 number doesn't work here) and my husband is out of town until Nov 3!!!

    :crying::crying::crying:

  5. (F)(F) Thank you soooo much!! Your words actually calmed me......Its true body language speak louder than words....plus we are expecting a baby!! My God be with us........5 day count down.......I shall return w/ my husband on Sat the 28th.........

    (F)

    domini loka,

Best of luck to you... and dont be so nervous!! If they ask you for wedding pictures and you dont have them, just tell them why you dont have them (As you've just talked about above) I'm sure they will understand.... You're almost there.. hang in there!! =D

  6. Seriously, generally speaking...being with my companion, where ever we are, i'm sure it will be great; and adaptation is the key!...every place has it's charm if one tries to see it...or create it...

i agree.. ADAPTATION is key.... .. in the perfect world.. we'd want to live in any state we want.. but realistically, e.g. you decide to live in city A, you live in this place but you're not able to find a job.. then what are you gonna do? u'd eventually have to move to an area where there is employement available for u.. dont u think? unless u're gonna switch careers or something... so to be more realistic.. it'd probably be a place that you're ok with where you can make a relatively decent living... that's just my opinion.

  7. So, I have finally reached the end of the K1 paperwork and stress  I had my interview in Vancouver this past wednesday and it was eventful to say the least. My fiance came with me and good thing he did! I was a wreck the morning of the interview but once I stepped into the consulate, I was back to calm (for the most part) . My fiance was all worried that all the people lined up outside waiting to get their turn through security were going to beat us up when we just trotted right up to the front without waiting in line . But because VJ kept me one up in the game I knew we were good to go with cutting in and heading right to the front with my interview letter!

First of all, congratulations! Second of all.. i have a question.. we can cut in the crowd? I'll do a K3 interview later (when I get approved.. haha) and am just gathering some info in regards to the vancouver embassy... If i have a K3 letter I can actually cut in? is that true? or should i just line up with the rest of the crew?

  8. Trust me! I'm a living example right here!

    Powerful personal experience!

Sorry to hear of your troubles & hope you can get it resolved quickly. ish. :)

    Thanks meauxna.....hehe

The company I'm working for has a lawyer that specializes in immigration, so I'm going to speak with him. Isn't it a red flag to apply for a TN early? What do I say if they ask me why I'm applying early?

How did they find out you got married? Did they ask you, or is it in the system somewhere? Either way, we've decided not to leave the country until my AOS comes through.

yes, please speak to your lawyer in the company that specializes in immigration.. we should have done that .. but alas.. we were STUPID.. (was too busy planning for the wedding.. ahahah)

no it's not a red flag to apply for a TN early.. mine was expiring in Nov and I renewed it in Sept.. they asked me why and I said I won't be able to 'cross the border' in Nov.. and since I'm flying back from England.. i wanted to renew the TN.. they made fun of me for a bit saying.. o... she's here to renew her TN cause she doesn't have money to buy a ticket to fly across the border to renew her TN (I'm like.. WHATEVER) ... but they gave it to me anyway.

They asked my husband if we were married and he said YES!!! Seriously, before I went in line, I really wanted to have both of us take off our wedding bands.. but my husband was telling me to calm down and look what happened????? He couldn't lie and said we were NOT married cause we have wedding bands on... u know?

But yes, unless absolutely necessary, do not leave the US until you have sorted out the legal side of the stuff... good luck! You dont wanna be me!! I just dont want someone else to go through this living hell like what I'm going through right now!! Married for 2 days and separated...with my poor hubby having sandwiches and TV dinners every night! sniff sniff :crying:

  9. If I were you I will NOT leave the US. I got married to an American on a TN. You will 100% be denied entry because that's what happene to me!!!!

I'm on TN. Got married to American in Canada, 2 days after the wedding, we tried to return to the US and I was denied. I'm in Canada and he's in US. You dont want to be like us! Now we have to file for I-130 and I-129F.

Also, I would talk to a lawyer. But I agree with the other people, you can renew your new TN so it be past the November date and you'll have more time to take care of the AOS and EAD.

And no matter what, DO NOT LEAVE THE US. You're can't return if they find out you're married to an American!

Trust me! I'm a living example right here!

  10. Kathryn41 is right. you'll basically be starting from scratch. Do you have an american express card in Canada? If so, they can do something called 'global transfer' for you. I was in the same situation. But if you have an Amex, then can do that for u.. so you'll at least have 1 credit card.

I did not have any credit when i went to the states and equifax and 2 other credit bureaus will not cross check the canadian side of my credit (even though all 3 bureaus have operations in Canada. I was told the computer systems do not 'talk' to each other)

Have your spouse get you a credit card and go from there... you'll have 'credit' probably after a year... good luck!

  11. adaandrew...I know that the I-130 will take a couple of months at NVC and then a couple more months once it gets to the Embassy before we get our interview, whereas the K-3 tends to go a bit faster once it leaves USCIS...and I just want desperately to be with my husband again.

At this point, we're both willing to deal with the hassles of AOS/EAD once he returns to the states. But it's simply a personal choice.

    Hope this clarifies!

Thanks! That clears up my confusion! Congratulations again!
