Hi there, I passed and the day after I went online and I saw that they already scheduled my oath ceremony for May 20 at the federal Plaza at 8 am. Check online documents- click on the pdf and it will show the date of your sons oath ceremony, Let me know when he will be doing his oath... Congrats for your son !

I am a U.S. citizen now!
My interview was on March 1st. The process was fairly simple, the officer that did my interview was professional (Polite but not friendly). It didn't take more than 30 minutes. Prolonged silent moments while she typed in her computer. Civid and writing test were easy and also some basic questions about how I arrived to the U.S.? Who petitioned for me? Do I share the mortgage with my husband? Then after a while she said she is going to petition for my application to be approved. The Oath Ceremony was scheduled to take place the same day an hour later so I stayed.
It has been a rollercoaster 🎢 with USCIS but I'm glad it is all over.
Now I have to get an updated SS card and a new Passport.
Hopefully everyone's journey will end soon with happy news!
Congratulations!

Hi everyone,
Good news , I just received my interview date which is gonna be in April 7th in NYC at the Federal Plaza.
I applied through my lawyer in September 14th (the USCIS received it on the 22nd) There is hope for New Yorkers as well! Even tho California is way faster....
But so happy anyway!!! Good luck to you all!

Hello everyone,
Is there anyone from New York City who applied in September 2021 and received already the interview notice? Just curious as I don't see any New Yorkers in the September filers...
Thanks in advance!
And I wish a Very Happy New Year to you all!

Hi everyone, I filed Sept 15, 2021, my interview was yesterday. Approved!!!!! I answered all questions correctly, the whole interview lasted about 10 minutes.
Office: Fort Smith, Arkansas
Oath ceremony, in a couple of weeks.
I was hoping for the same day but I requested a name change 🤷🏻♀️
Congratulations ! May I ask if did you filed on marriage based? Online or paper form?

Haven't posted on VJ in 2 years. I did my marriage based GC in 2016, ROC in 2018 (got approved in 2019 took exactly 1 year) after that I chose to take a break from this and did not apply for citizenship based on the 3 year rule. i finally stopped procrastinating and applied for Citizenship last September on the 23rd based on the 5 year GC rule. Here go my timeline so far:
USCIS received application September 23rd.
Notice sent September 28th, biometrics reused.
October 18th, Interview Scheduled for December 7th 2021.
My field office is in Bedford, New Hampshire.
Not as fast as a few folks posted here before but still faster than i thought (lawyer said 4-6 months), Now i have about 44 days to study and get this done.
Wowww, that was fast ! Here in NYC my lawyer said minimum a year .... Fingers crossed for your civics and interview! Good luck and keep us posted!

Good exchange from you two (S75 and U123). There is a sub debate of which is faster (online versus paper) and it seems online is slightly faster. The usual notices if you file by paper are: Notice 1 Document 1 (Receipt of petition), Notice 1 Document 2 (Access Code to USCIS website), Notice 2: Bio metric appointment or reapplication from a prior application and Notice 3: In-person Interview. These notices are usually sent within one week and you will get them inside 30 days, except for the biometrics which might be within 30 days or later. Most posts here suggest almost everyone has receipts upto bio metrics and now are waiting. If you have USCIS account, you can do one of three things. Log in every day to see if something changed on the status line, 2 set it up so that the system emails you when there is a change of status on your account, 3 set it up that you get a text when there is a change of status in your account. once you add your paper petition to the USCIS website using your access code and date of birth of the petitioner, you should also see a copy of the mailed receipts under documents. Most people here from their posts log in occasionally if they do not have an email/text alert set up (under settings once you log into your USCIS account). The average wait time from acceptance of application to interview is 180 days, the fastest was 43 days and the slowest was 740 days although most tracker information seems to suggest application to approval is around 360 -390 days. For those who also filed an I-751 it might be quicker if their I-741 and N-400 are both pending, they could request a joint hearing. Good luck to the both of you.
Thank you Jack, you have always such good advises! Really appreciate it! Good luck to you as well! Please keep updating us !

I filed online. What 3 letters did you get? I only got 2 letters, one is Biometric reuse and another one receipt notice. What is 3rd?
The 3rd was with the access code to be able to check my status online .

I filed on 9/15 and status still shows that case is being actively reviewed by USCIS officer. What is the next step that shows on case status?
P.S. Already received receipt notice and Biometric reuse in mail and on online account as well.My lawyer sent out my N-400 application on September 14th after 10 days I received all the 3 letters like you. Now is the long waiting time to be scheduled for the interview. But you can always just log into your online account and check you status. I would suggest to check also the DOCUMENTS tab as well don't just rely on the estimated time. But don't worry you will receive a letter when they will schedule your interview. I filed in New York City and here the waiting time is quite long.... Did you filed online or paper form?

My case went from 14 months to 15 months this morning. But I believe they will speed up the processing time. It won't take that long. I read through the August filers and someone wrote that every 30th of the month is dropping a month or 2 in some cases. So lets cross our fingers for the speediest processing time frame!

How come? Did you added your receipt number and then your access code ?

I’ve just received two letters. One of them with account access code and another one saying that biometric will be reused. Going to try to create an account online
Me too I just got both of the letters today. I already had an old account when I applied for the GC. I just added a new case on my account my estimated time frame is approximately 14 months... and they will reuse my old biometric what they have it from my GC.

Hi, as my knowledge we should receive 2 more letters in one where they decide if they will reuse it or not our fingerprint (in case not) they will state the date of the biometric. In the other (separate ) letter it should be the access code to be able to check online our own status. Update me when you will receive the other letters. I just received my first one on Saturday . So at least I will know less and more how long does it take to receive the other letters.

Hi everyone,
My lawyer sent with the expedite mail to the USCIS my N-400 application on September 14th. Do anyone knows how long will it take to receive the notice of receipt? And about the Biometrics if I have to go in person or they will reuse the one I had it done for my GC in 2018. I applied under the 3yrs marriage based .... Anyone out here applied from NY? If yes can you please tell me your time frame of course if you didn't applied online.
Thank you
Yesterday I got in the mail a letter from USCIS the I-797C does anyone know when should I receive the other letters with the access code to be able to monitoring online about my case processing time frame? It states Notice day September 20th, 2021 Priority date September 17, 2021
Dose anyone applied from New York lately (not online) but paper form?
Thank you in advance for the response !
Have a lovely weekend everyone! And good luck who are going soon for their interview!

Hello , Just a quick question since your son and I had the same day interview date at the Federal Plaza on April 7th. My Oath ceremony is on the 20th (this Friday) at 8am. Can you please letting me know how long did it take for your son's Oath ceremony ? As I already got an appointment at the USPS to applying for the US Passport so I wanna make sure I will make it in time to the post office.
Thank you in advance for your response!
And once again Congrats for your son!
Have a lovely day!
