Does anyone know what this means?

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) notified the National Visa Center (NVC) that you filed Form I-601A, Application for Provisional Unlawful Presence Waiver. The NVC will continue to process your I-130 immigrant visa petition but will not schedule your interview pending adjudication of your waiver application by USCIS. If you have questions concerning the waiver application please contact USCIS at 1-800-375-5283. Please continue to respond to all requests for forms, documents, and fees that you receive from the NVC.

If you have questions concerning your I-130 immigrant visa petition please contact the NVC by telephone at 603-334-0700, or by e-mail at NVCInquiry@state.gov.

It just means that NVC is aware that you still have something pending with USCIS and they will wait for the approval before scheduling your appointment with the consulate. Once your Wavier is approved USCIS will let NVC know so they can close your case and schedule your appointment.

My mom has been waiting for her interview to be scheduled since May. Yet we haven’t heard anything back yet. How long does this usually take? We reciveid an email saying she was in queue for an interview.

I’ve been seeing people from April 2018 getting appointments for December 2018. It’s taking about 6-8 months for an appointment. Hopefully you’ll get your appointment soon for January 2019

"USCIS notified NVC: May 9" What does this mean? Received email or letter in mail? Thank you. Was wondering because I didn't receive anything from NVC about 601a.

It just means that USCIS has informed NVC about your i601a and they will wait until your approval before they process your case and close it before sending it to the embassy for your appointment.  You should have received an email already informing you about this. Just call NVC to make sure they have the right email address. It’s an easy fix. You need to have your NVC case number. It is the same number you used when paying the $325 & $120.

Here is the number if you need it:

    1 (603) 334-0700

    Good luck! 🍀

Once the case was complete at NVC, how long did it take for you to get your appointment in Ciudad Juarez?

I'm starting to lose hope that our appointment will be before the end of this year :(

From what other people are posting in other forums it looks like it’s a 6 month wait from the time your case closes to getting your appointment. People with cc from April just started receiving appointments for November. When did your case get completed at NVC?

    Hello,

i don't know if I am in the right thread but I had a question about the interview. I know there is no script but do they use the information from your packet to ask questions?

My husband and I have a difficult case. We got a very complicated RFE. I have dual citizenship. I was born in Mexico and I am requesting a waiver for my husband who is also from Mexico. The RFE stated to have more information based on hardship and credibility. It wasn't believed that I would leave to Mexico with him and also staying in the u.s. Is what I would choose since I make more money than him. We sent a psych report which was never sent in the beginning (I know big mistake).

I know we haven't gotten approved but I am being hopeful that we provided a good RFE packet to get approved. I know I am thinking ahead since most people are saying that it is taking 6-7 months for an interview. I am worried that the questions will be regarding getting an RFE or asking about me being Mexican? Does anyone have a similar story as mine.?

    Hello, welcome!!

we have not had our interview yet but I think if you ask this question in this other forum there will be more people able to help. Since we all filed this year most of us here haven’t had our interview yet. This other forum is for people who filed in 2017. Hopefully they could give you some advice. Look in the search bar for:  2017 Mexico I-601a waiver processing time. Everyone on there is very nice and helpful. Maybe they can tell you about their experiences. I don’t think your dual citizenship matters much because you are a U.S citizen even if your a naturalized one. I think they look more at how much you need and depend on your husband. How hard is your life going to be if he is gone? How financially straining will it be for you to have to travel to see him and how that will affect your job and life. If you look on this site at the Embassy reviews a lot of people talk about their interviews. That might give you an idea of what they will ask.  Good luck 🍀

Congratulations! May, I ask you how do you explain your overstay on DS-260? Thanks a million for help!

So sorry but my husband and lawyer filled that out. I don’t remember what they put. My husband is the applicant. Our lawyer gave us a questionnaire to fill out and give back but it didn’t have that question on it. I will see what I can find out for you about that.

Hey guys, today during my lunch I was watching a YouTube video when I received a text saying "your I 601A has been updated". I got so nervous and logged on to USCIS and to my surprise, it was APPROVED.It says I will be receiving it by mail.

    timeline

    Received March 09

    Biometric  April 11

    Approved 10/03

Our case is for Tegucigalpa Honduras.

Congratulations!!!! 🍾 Now on to the next part! Your almost done!!!

  9. If anyone going to Juarez is interested this Facebook group is really great. Everyone has the same questions and post all of their experiences. It has helped me a lot to understand this process and the timelines

    https://m.facebook.com/groups/1165159646868382

its a closed group so none of your friends will see anything you post or like unless you invite them in. FYI

Anything we could do to help each other with information in this crucial time is important. We are all in the same boat right now. Good luck to everyone🍀

6months for an appointment in Juarez?? 😧

Yes, unfortunately. They just scheduled people who were CC(case closed) in April for November appointments. It’s taking USCIS 90 days to send your approval to NVC! We were approved 8/30 and they still haven’t sent it. That’s all we need for them to close our case and send it to Juarez. 😔😞

Does anyone knows the wait time to get a interview in Ciudad juarez? I file my DS-260 on August 21, 2018.

From other groups I am a part of I am seeing that there is about a 6-9 month wait from the time NVC closes your case to scheduling appointments. People with cases closed in April just got there appointments for November. It could be sooner but this is just what I’ve seen from people posting

Hi. I thought it was fast too and nothing has gone fast for us in this process!!! I wasn't expecting to see anything but I looked at my case status on NVC site and it said at NVC. I was shocked so I called NVC and the gentleman verified  that it was completed today, 9-12-18

Wow, congratulations!! Hope your appointment also comes up quickly. I’ll be desperately checking NVC for our case to close!

HI. I just wanted to share that our I601a dates.

    Received 2-8-18 in Nebraska

Fingerprints were done April 5, 2018

Approved 9-6-2018. We received the notice on 9-10-2018 in the regular mail. The online status never changed. We had already submitted all docs to NVC in March, so our Case was completed with NVC as of 9-12-2018. Now we are just waiting for our interview date in Ciudad Juarez Mexico.!!

Wow! Nvc received your approval notice quickly. We also sent everything in back in April and were only missing the i601a approval. We have been approved since 8/30 but they still have not completed our case. What was your secret? Did you call them? Congratulations!!🎉

Congratulations!!!!!🎈🎉🎊🍾 CANT WAIT TO HEAR ALL ABOUT YOUR  APPOINTMENT! We also did the NVC back in JUNE so if we get approval our appointment should be faster.

That is the plan! Hopefully by having done all the NVC stuff it makes scheduling quicker. I have a Facebook group that says appointments for Ciudad Juarez, Mexico are 6 months out. I just think maybe it takes that long because they submitted all the paperwork after their approval? Our lawyer said it will take about 60 to 90 days. I don’t know, just another thing to wait for. I will keep you posted for sure!!😉

I totally spoke to my attorney I understand one missed letter( we didn’t get the receipt of 601a) but now no biometric appointment?!  Makes no sense turns out they missed ONE NUMBER IN OUR  ADDRESS ! We put in a request for address change and got a confirmation that we should get a letter by mail by September 8,2018!  I am beyond upset that someone could mess something so important up!

Yep, I knew it had to be something like that. The paralegal that works with our lawyer doesn’t like me because I always want to check over whatever he fills out for us. I have found a few mistakes in his work. Letters on names being left off or transposing numbers. These are very important documents. Like I said, we are paying a lot of money to them and we should expect them to do their jobs correctly. Then again, it could have been a mistake on USCIS. Glad to see you were able to resolve this quickly. 😀

So I actually got the call from my lawyer asking if we did biometrics on August 22 on August 24 (We never got the letter) so today my husband is going anyone missed the biometric appointment? What did you do ?  Can he walk in and get it done?

You should also ask your lawyer why when they received your appointment letter they didn’t call you to make sure you received it too. They get a copy of everything and I’m sure they got it days ago. Our lawyer calls us to make sure we get what he gets and even reminds us the day before about appointments so we don’t miss anything. I mean, we are paying them a lot of money and to miss important steps like this is tough. Luckily this is ok but I would be on top of them after this to make sure they keep me informed. Just some friendly advice. I’ve been dealing with lawyers since 2015 and so ready to be done with all or this! Good luck to you on your journey 😀

So I received my receipt notice today 8/17/18 just to find out that my last name is missing 1 letter 🤦‍♀️

I also spoke to someone and they said they are currently working on February 2018 cases.

Thankfully the name is an easy fix. What’s important is that they received it and now it’s just about playing the waiting game. Thanks for letting us know that they are working on February. That means my husband should hear something soon!! Good luck to you 👍🙏
