  1. Hello everyone! I submitted my Removal of Conditions packet last March 2020, received the receipt notice and another notice that they applied my previous fingerprints for the ROC. Since May 2020, my status hasn’t changed and is still showing “Fingerprints are applied”.. Anyone out here who are on the same status as me? Also, how long does Potomac process the ROC? Thanks in advance.

  2. Submitted ROC packet 3/7/2020

    USCIS Received: 3/9/20

NOA1 Received: 3/16/20 with YSC**** case number

    Biometrics: awaiting notice for biometrics

How long is the wait to get a notice for biometrics from Potomac? Also, are there petitioners here who were interviewed who originally have Potomac service centers and were interviewed previously during the AOS process?

Sounds like he covered a lot of expenses, the process your living expenses and sending money back. Unless you are are very well off with that long list of expenses, I can well understand the issue.

I know he spent a lot of money with the process and everything, but right now it’s different.. i have my own job for a year now, which is a good paying job since i work as an RN. But it seems like it’s still not enough for him.

Like Geowrian said it would have been best to talk about this beforehand. But the best thing to do is have an honest discussion about finances and how you feel about them now. There can be intense pressure on children who move abroad from the Philippines to "lift up" those that are left behind. The most important thing is to set limits with your spouse on how much you are going to spend and under what circumstances. It might cause some heart burn with the family back home but it might just save your marriage here.

Actually, the money we send to the Philippines mostly goes towards the mortgage of our house there.. i’m only supporting my mother and not any other members of the family, even before i met my husband. It’s already included in our budget every month, and we talked about it many times already even before we got married.  I’ve been working here as a registered nurse for a year now but still the same.

  5. Hi everyone! I’ve been here in the US for almost 3 years now.. i’m married to an American who was previously divorced, with 3 kids from his previous marriage. I also have a son of my own from my previous partner from the Philippines who’s also here with me..I came here in America by K1 visa and is currently working here as a registered nurse.. We’ve been sending money ($175) to my mother in the Philippines every month ever since i got here, which covers the monthly mortgage for my house in the Philippines, the monthly bills (electric, water, internet), groceries and about $35-$40 extra for my mother to spend for herself. I know that my husband sent money there even though i wasn’t working for a year since we have to do all the process of getting the work permit plus i have to take the nclex exam too..the issue i have right now is, even though i’m already earning a lot of money here, my husband still keeps on questioning me if we really have to send my mother an extra $35-40 every month for her to spend for herself. I’m already working here, what more does he want me to do? We have a joint account so obviously my money is also his money and his money is also my money, but it just feels like i don’t have control over what i earned anymore. And for him to question me about that amount, it just makes me feel like, most of what i earned just goes towards the house that i am not even entitled for since i am not on the deed, towards the van that we bought, also helping him pay for what he has to pay his ex wife towards their kid’s expenses.. we don’t have a kid of our own yet.. it’s just sad to think that i can’t even give anything to my own mother even just a couple bucks every month..feels like walking on egg shells with him.

  6. Good morning everyone!!

What are the requirements to renew and change my name from single to married name on my Philippine passport? Is it required to get a copy of the authenticated Report of Marriage from Philippine Statistics Authority or can i use the original copy of the Report of Marriage which was sent back to me by the Philippine Embassy in Washington? I want to schedule for their consular outreach in Tampa this coming August but it will take time for me to get an authenticated copy of the report of marriage from PSA. Not to mention i didn't receive any reply email yet from the Dept. of Foreign Affairs requesting for the transmittal date and batch number for the Report of marriage which they also require whenever you request for an authenticated copy online. Your replies will be really of great help to me. Thank you so much!

Yes...when you speak to the first customer service agent, you  ask for a tier 2 supervisor.  Call early in the working day as the queue to talk to the Tier 2 supervisor gets long and by lunchtime they are saying they cannot refer your call.. you may be required to enter your name and phone number for a call back.. take the opportunity to do so, it usually does work!

So, we called the USCIS early this morning and was able to talk to a Tier 2 Supervisor.. Guess what?? She said that they cancelled the Request for Initial Evidence last Sept. 27 and told us that our case is ready to be scheduled for an Interview, no schedule yet though. Which is the main reason why we didn't receive the RFIE letter in the mail for almost two months, because they cancelled it..She said that they will send us an email or a letter stating the interview schedule and she apologized to us. Online case status still says "Request for Initial Evidence"..

Will definitely do that on Monday, first thing in the morning..Hope everything works.. Thank you so much..

Call Them and ask for tier 2 and if you are lucky they can fax it to you otherwise you have to tell them you haven't gotten it.

You have 90 days to respond to a RFE so time is ticking for you.

What's a tier 2? You mean a second level officer?

  10. Hello Everyone!

So, the USCIS online case status said that they mailed the notice of Request for Initial Evidence last September 26, 2017 but until now we still didn't get the notice in the mail.. Even the service request that we made last October 11 reached the 30 day period, so we made another service request (2nd) for them to send us a copy of the notice. It's been almost 2 moths, we're worried that it's going to expire soon.. What's the best thing for us to do to resolve this issue??

  11. It’s been almost 2 months now since they changed my case status online that they sent me a mail for a request for initial evidence which was last Sept.26,2017. Service request and multiple calls were made.. Just feeling worried because until now there’s no sign of the letter from them and it has an expiration date..It’s not our fault that we didn’t receive the mail, we didn’t move to another address or whatsoever. Anyone out there who has the same experience?

Wow. That’s a long wait and it added to the frustration since you knew it was an RFIE and yet you can’t find out what for. Do you have an informed delivery from USPS? You can see what mail you’re getting on that day. It can be helpful as you’d know what mail to expect, whether it got lost or stolen.

How do i get the informed delivery from USPS?

Lucky you. I did my biometrics Aug 9 and thought it has been going smooth, but received RFIE October 10th so they had to put my EAD on hold as well. I agree it can really be frustrating. When you check your case online, doesn’t it show a link where you can request a copy of the RFIE letter in case you didn’t receive it? Because on my case status online it does say a link where I can request a copy.

Yes it has a link and i already did that, which they said that it might take another 30 days again. If i still don't get the letter, i will have to call them again. :(

Most of the time applicants receive their RF(I)E letter within seven days to fourteen.

It's weird they ask you to wait another 30 days.

We waited for one month for the letter to get in the mail, but still didn't receive any letter from them regarding the initial evidence they're asking.. And then they wanted us to wait for another 30 days from the time the service request was made.. So frustrating.

They can be really slow on the process depending on who’s handling your case. I filed AOS July 8, and submitted an SR September 25th. Didn’t get an RFIE until October 10th. That’s exactly 90 days after I received my NOA1. I also got a feeling that my application has been sitting on a desk and someone only look into it when I submitted an SR. Although my case status online didn’t changed to RFIE until October 17th and I already got the letter from the mail. I’m sorry I can’t really answer your question for sure, but that was my experience. Good luck to you!

That's alright :) I actually filed my AOS June 30th and already did my Biometrics last August 2nd, then Sept.26, online status said Request for Initial Evidence was mailed. Already received my EAD/AP combo card in the mail last Oct. 21st..

  15. When i checked my case status online, it says that the request for initial evidence for AOS was sent last Sept. 26, 2017 but we still didn't receive the letter up to this day, which has been a month. We called USCIS and then they said that we have to wait another 30 days for the letter, which is really frustrating because they're prolonging the process and there's no way we can know what evidence they really need. Is there someone out there who experienced the same thing?

Hi! I flew thru Emirates Airlines but from Dubai. They did not ask anything about who paid for the ticket. I think as long you have the copy of the ticket with you, they will just need the booking ref # which is on the ticket, put in the details in their system and your flight details will appear. I haven't heard of any case about the immigration asking about the credit card of the payee to be honest. I even flew from NAIA to Bangkok back in 2014 and I used my friend's credit card to purchase my ticket, the only thing they asked me was who owns the credit card used and I told them it is my friend who was not even traveling with me at the time. They did not say anything after that and they let me in.

    Best of luck! ;)

They will probably just ask me who booked the ticket for us.. thank you so much for your prompt reply :)
