GC-Date: The 'Resident Since' Date located on your first green card.
Sent: Date N-400 was mailed to USCIS.
Cashd: Date your check was cashed / credit card was charged by USCIS.
NOA: Receipt Notice Date Printed on your official I-797 notification.
Fprints:  Date assigned for fingerprinting (Bio-metrics). If you do your biometrics via walk-in prior to your scheduled appointment, please enter the date in bold blue.
In Line: Date you received e-notification about the start of your interview scheduling.
Int Ltr: Date you received the official letter in the mail regarding interview.
Interview: Date of your interview.
Oath: Date Oath taken.
Field Office: Your local USCIS office where you will have the N-400 interview.

It is rare, but I have found myself in one of those rare situations where I am applying for naturalization without a 751. Due to my spouse being employed overseas at the time of our marriage, and the rules on timelines for naturalization, I am able to apply for naturalization prior to the window of my 751 opening (90 days prior to GC expiration). As long as the naturalization is approved prior to the window for my 751 opening, I do not need to apply for a 751. I called USCIS twice and talked to two different people to confirm this. It's going to be close though and I'm not sure what will happen if the window opens after I already finished the interview but haven't taken the oath yet...crossing my fingers that the naturalization moves smoothly. 
 
Looking at your GC date, it doesn't seem like this is the same case with you though?  Especially if you already submitted the 751, I feel like they should just adjudicate them together, effectively removing the conditions and approving the naturalization concurrently. The 751 will be approved without you actually getting a 10 year green card. Maybe they are just trying to push your 400 without the 751 since it would just be done concurrently but I don't know why they would have to think about it so hard for...

Good morning everyone!  I came across this while searching for something else on VJ...
 
Turns out a few years ago a person previously employed by USCIS as an Adjudicator ended up becoming a member of VisaJourney when they later submitted their own application for their fiancee.  He decided to give an interview of sorts on some of the inner-workings of USCIS and answered questions from members about things like background checks, how applicants are processed, delays, how and why files get moved around, etc.
 
Keep in mind it's a couple of years back---when USCIS was going under the name BCIS...but it appears from reading it this morning that most of what the person is saying is still very valid and current in terms of how things are still done around there when it comes to approving/denying applications.

I'm a first time poster but I've been monitoring this forum for a while to give me an idea of when I can expect a case complete from the NVC. I figured I would post my CC to give some of you long timers some hope that they are finally catching up. I called for the first time on Jan 9, at about 7.5 weeks to get an update. The woman on the phone said that she would put a note on our case to have it reviewed soon. Woke up this morning (3 days later) to 3 N/A's on my summary page. CC at exactly 8 weeks.
