Keep us posted how it goes.  Best wishes!!!

WE GOT APPROVED!!! His medical was sent over on Friday and the interview was Tuesday (yesterday). It was a very INTERESTING experience. Definitely nerve wrecking and the officer was mean. Most of the people he saw, had a hard time with him. He really only asked us when we met, how long have we known each other, what did he like about me, give SPECIFIC examples of the qualities he just mentioned, and then told us it'll be ready in a week. He didn't even look like he wanted to give it to us, honestly. "So after meeting one time and being together 6 months, you decide to get married? Who proposed to whom?" That was his remark after telling him we got engaged in October of last year. Looking at his face at that point, I was sure we were not going to get approved but we did!

It also updates when you email them.  The updates could mean they are working on it or that they just responding to your inquiry.  You have to just reason it out.  Good Luck!

Thank you! The medical hadn't been sent but I haven't emailed them in a while so idk what thee update was about but I'm not gonna worry. Just gonna pray on it and trust God. His interview is in 2 days. We will know soon enough?

I hope so too.  They probably did since your status changed.  I know the waiting is horrible, but trust me, it will be worth it in the long run.  I can't believe my husband has been here 2 years already!  Seems like yesterday I was picking him up at the airport lol.

I just read your timeline. That's so awesome!! It's great to see couples still together and in love after the process is complete?

  4. My fiance had his medical competed on Thursday 3/2/17. He did not have his immunization card as he lost it a long time ago so he had to get 4 shots. I don't remember specifically which ones they were but the cost was about 14k. He got there about 9, left a little after 3. He was told to come back after the interview for his CD. Anyone else had to go back for that? Is it just his results for him to keep?

  5. Hi everyone! So I just looked up my case Status on NVC and it says it's in Transit and NVC has provided me with an interview date. To my understanding, it is our responsibility to schedule our own appointment. We submitted the ds160, paid the visa fee, and scheduled our appointment once we had our case number, a few days before the consulate will receive it. Is that okay? Or did the NVC really schedule our appointment?

I did mine without having my immunization card. You can get shots done at a clinic before going to Andrews, it's cheaper. You can also, just go to the medical and you will get all vaccines required. Vaccines depend on the age of the person. I only got Tdap when I went. Varicella is also given if you have not had it or if you have not had chicken pox. I had chicken pox as a kid so they did not give me varicella.

Thank you! We talked about looking into it from a local clinic bit it just may be easier to wait and get it from St Andrew's, although it'll be more expensive. He doesn't like needles so we'd hate to get some unnecessary shots.

  7. Thank you @Ben&Zian for replying! He has called everywhere trying to see if they have a copy of his records. Because it's been over 10 years since he's needed shots, no one has his records. Even his old college doesn't have a copy. I told him to see if he can be tested for antibodies to see which ones are in his system but I forget what happened with that. I guess we'll just have to wait and see at his medical.

Yes, if you are now making enough money, submit the past year's tax return, but also all the evidence you can come up with to prove your current earrings. You shouldn't need a joint sponsor if your new job is paying you enough to sponsor your fiance.

Thank you so much for answering! I think I'll carry the documents just in case because we'd like to come back home together and I don't want any reason to delay. But to know I can do it on my own is awesome.

    Hi Meli and Marcel,

The consulate received our package on the 7th.. I have not received a letter or anything. I am only going by what I have seen online and calling them. I am completely done with my package and I took it upon myself to schedule his medical exam this week and interview next week. I have all the evidence, police certificate, certified birth certificate, etc(i went by your checklist). I organized it in a binder and I am ready to Fed Ex it to send it to my fiance. Should I wait for the package? Do I need to include something in the package inside the binder?

Hi, did you ever get an answer to your question here? I would like to get started ahead of time just as others have done. (Thank you so much for your attachment! @Meli & Marcel) Our k1 petition was just approved and I want to begin setting up his appointments and interview in Jamaica once I get his case number from nvc.

  11. Hey Everyone! My name is Deionna. I am petitioning my fiance from Jamaica an we recently received our NOA2. Did we have to wait until the nvc sends our package to the embassy before scheduling our interview? If I have my nvc case number, could we start so that we get an earlier interview day? We figured we'd be able to schedule it as soon as we get the case number since that's all we need outside of the d160 application number
