Yaaaaay! These are great news!!!!!
So, should I start getting the affidavit ready or not?
Oh, you are doing the Adjustment of Status? My husband is doing Consular Processing. For AOS the rules are slightly different.
"When USCIS determines there are more immigrant visas available for the fiscal year than there are known applicants, you may use the Dates for Filing Applications chart to determine when to file an adjustment of status application with USCIS. Otherwise, you must use the Application Final Action Dates chart to determine when to file an adjustment of status application with USCIS.
Unless otherwise indicated on www.uscis.gov/visabulletininfo, you must use the “Application Final Action Dates” for determining when you can file a Form I-485 with USCIS."

Hi Maria!
New visa bulletin has recently come out and for F2A, the date on table B is 08APR16... since my PD is January 2006, does that mean that I should get some sort of communication from NVC soon? I've already checked on https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ and it still doesn't let me choose the agent and fees are still "not invoiced".
Thanks in advance!
Hi. Did you mean January 2016? My PD is April 2016 and I was soo delighted to see the movement in the Dates for Filing. I called NVC and they said that I will be receiving a Welcome Letter sometime in May (same goes for you). Then we can start the 6-step processing.

Hi!
Yes, it shows the same exact thing and when you use the "pay fees" option, it will show "not invoiced". I called and they said I have to wait until my priority date is closer. One thing that I havent been able to find out is how close to my PD they will let me choose the agent and pay the fees. Let's keep each other updated.
Hi and welcome to the blog I would like to encourage you to read through this blog because the questions you are asking have been answered multiple times. You can also find out answers to many other questions you might have. Good luck on your journey:)

Good. Now you have to wait for NVC Welcome Letter so you can start start NVC filing process. So you have to wait for "column B" to move pass May 4th. And yes, everything will work out, its just life is giving all of us a great lesson in patience:) Praise the Lord Jesus!

Good. Now you have to wait for NVC Welcome Letter so you can start start NVC filing process. So we have to wait for "column B" to move pass April 5th.

my husband's PD is 5 April 2016....and received his case number too...should i contact NVC?
After NVC receives your file, you should get a 1st letter with Case Number immediately. This is the format of a case number: BDP2013000666 (just an example).
My PD is April 4th and I did receive my 1st Case Number letter about 2 weeks after the file was received by NVC (I think August last year) so I would advise you to contact NVC and inquire.
However, the most important 2nd letter - the NVC Welcome Letter - is yet to be mailed to you. I'm waiting on mine also. That one will contain information necessary to start the NVC processing.

Did anyone have a F2A AOS interview?
Hi, I think most of the people in this forum are going through consular processing abroad and not adjustment of status. I might be wrong but that is my experience so far.

My husband already received his case number but it doesnt have invoice id, should we call or wait?
hope column b move by the next visa update. waiting game is the hardest.
There is no reason contacting NVC, you have to wait for "Dates For Filing (DFF)" to become "Current, and shortly before, NVC will send you a Welcome Letter with all the information you need to start visa processing. My PD is 4 months before yours (April 2016) and I did not get that Welcome Letter yet. Current DFF is November 2015 and all of us are waiting for the forward movement, as it has been stuck there for about 7 months. For more info go to:

F2A moved from 15. April to 8. March. This means, 3 weeks as predicted. He said this will be like that for a couple of months. So I assume we will see in the next 3-5 months always the predicted 3 weeks movement before it slows down again.
Wow, so you think it will slow down even further after those 3-5 months?I'm praying that the next fiscal year (starting October 2017) the visa demand will be lower so we can make up for the loss in time.

Click on the link below (official US government site) for processing times. Currently, California Center is processing I-130 petitions from August 16th.

Hi,
I think it is best to open a thread for all 2016 filers, rather than month by month with very little activity and spread information.
Based on latest prognoses of the Visa bulletin is supposed to move about 3 weeks each months in the next couple of months.
If this trend continues, F2A Visa wait times for people who have filed in 2016 seems to be about 2 years to 2.5 years.
This is drastically up from previous 1.5 years wait time. While no one can accurately predict the VB, current movement points
to a longer wait than in the past 2 years. Still historically 2-2.5 years is low, there have been often wait times of 3-4 years in the past.
Oppenheimer: "Movements in the family-based Final Action Dates may start to slow in the second half of the fiscal year. Updated projections will appear in the next Visa Bulletin. "
F2A 2016 filers who received their NO2 - please post your current status in this forum - we want to know how long your NO2 took and where it was filed!
https://immigrationview.foxrothschild.com/immigrant-visas/
Wow, thank you very much for this info. I had a feeling F2A was going to be moving at a rate of 3 weeks per month, based on the last year's projections (it moved 250 days last year). It's certainly disappointing news though, 2-3 months more of waiting can make a big difference

Hi Michael;
Thanks for that FB Link, I sent them a request.
I sent my I 1-30 to Phoenix Lockbox from where it was transferred to California PC. My PD is 4th of April and it took them only 4 months to approve it.

Hi forum,
I really appreciate all the help I got by reading this threat as well. we filled on october 19, 2016; our NOA1 october 25 2016. We haven't received anything as yet. Is everything Ok? After i received the I130 approval(i guess thats next step) what should I do? Thank you in advance
Hi,
1/ you need to check your priority date (PD) - I'm assuming it's October 25th? it should be clearly written on your Receipt.
2/ if you are in this forum, your Visa category should be F2A (just checking)
3/ Now look at the post above and click on the very same link. It will take you to the Visa Bulletin. It gets updated every month around the 10th.
- Column A (for F2A) tells you when you can be scheduled for an interview. Just an FYI - if your category is F2A, the average time frame is 2 years from the PD.
- Column B tells you when you start filing Visa Application if you are choosing consular processing (CP)
Nevertheless, next step for you is to wait on NVC to contact you (given the I-130 will be approved). From what I know, if you choose consular processing route, they will first send you a letter with your case number stating "sorry, the visa number is not available yet..."). Only when the Date For Filing will be available for you, NVC will contact you to start the Visa Application process.
Example: My PD is April 4th 2016 and NVC is yet to contact me to start the Visa Application Process. i'm expecting my interview to be scheduled sometime in February 2018.
Any questions please let me know - we are here to help each other.

Hey everybody,
Just quick question about sponsor
I have not have a good income so can my BF be a sponsor for my son, the issue is he isnt either US Citizen or GC holder, he has his SSN and work authorization card, he has processing asylum case now
Just like a sponsor, joint sponsor must be:a/ a citizen or a national of the US or an alien admitted lawfully to the US for permanent residence
b/ at least 18 years of age
c/ domiciled in the US (has to have US address)
So for short - no, he can not be a joint sponsor unless he has at least a green card.

Column A tells you when you are eligible to be scheduled for an interview. With PD April 4th (same like mine), we are pretty much concerned about the Column B now so we can start the filing process.

How do I know that the case become current?
CEAC system doent let me sign in to complete DS-260 and pay the IV fees
Hi Milli;
Is your son here in the US (you will be doing adjustment of status) or he is abroad (consular processing). Also, just to make sure - are you a permanent resident or a US citizen?

Visa bulletin is out. No change for second table yet. ?
Yes, disappointing, but next time it moves I'm sure you will be ok to start the filing process. I just wanted you to know that there are 2 different dates you have to look at in Visa Bulletin: "Final Action Date "(FAD) and "Dates For Filing". This is a new system that started like 2 years ago or so. Before there was just FAD. So it works in favor for us petitioners, as it saves us cca 3 months of waiting.

Hi, I Have a pending F2A (Spouse) case at NVC and my Priority Date is (04 JAN 2016). on June,14,2016 NVC sent me an email saying (Currently, a visa number is unavailable and this petition is not eligible for further processing at this time). Its been a year but i did not get any mail for starting my process with NVC. Then I chacked CEAC with my case number and it says Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) that list the six steps you must take before NVC can schedule your visa interview appointment. This includes submitting to NVC various fees, forms and documents. Once NVC has received all the required items, they will let you know if anything is missing or incomplete.
But I did not received any mail about that. I called NVC and thay said when my PD become current then I can start the processing. Can anyone tell me how long I have to wait for to submit my supporting document to NVC? Thank you
You have to check "Dates For Filing" column in a monthly Visa Bulletin. Currently, the date is set for November 22nd 2015, however, it has been "sitting" there for about 6 months, so movement is expected soon. Check the VB on a monthly basis, each 10th of the month or so. You will be able to file next time DFF moves, and as I mentioned, it should be this or next month.

Hi, my name is Anna (PR) and I'm filing for my husband that is currently in Hungary. His PD is April 4th 2016. I'm anxiously checking the Visa Bulletin on a monthly basis to see, whether the "Dates For Filing (DFF)" has moved. I know that the most important movement is "Final Action Date (FAD)", but being able to move forward in the filing process after DFF is "current" means a lot mentally in this difficult waiting process. New Visa Bulletin for Feb should come in today, so let's see the movement.

Oh ok, so we are in a same boat. Yes, the reason the Welcome Letter will come in May is that NVC has to wait for the May Bulletin to be official. Right now we are still on the April Bulletin. In your Welcome Letter you'll get the crucial numbers you'll need to start the 6-step process that is beautifully explained on this website:
https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/approved/contact.html
I already have most of my Affidavit paperwork ready to go.
